With a private paved approach to your own front door, this spacious two double bedroom two bathroom apartment, is bordered by large and sunny terrace on its complete south side. Stylishly decorated, and lavishly equipped. With a stunning hillside location, this flat has spectacular sea and mountain views. On a clear day you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada, as well as the Riff mountains of Africa. The shared pool is gorgeous, and secluded, and depending upon the season, often you will be the only people using it. There are restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The shops and restaurants and beach at Elviria is a 6-7 minute drive away, and Marbella is around 20 minutes from the apartment. With marble floors throughout, WiFi and internet TV, this feels more like home than a standard rental apartment. There are wonderful walks you can take through the surrounding unspoilt hills, numerous golf courses in the close vicinity, and tennis club onsite. The nearby village of Elviria boasts at least 20 cafes, bars and restaurants, and includes every type of cuisine, from Spanish Tapas to Thai, Chinese and Italian. There is also a weekly open market held there. We do not allow smoking in this apartment.

We really enjoy La Mairena area. This is the second time Marbella. The apartment was great, and Rosa Maria was very friendly and checked on us to make sure everything was going OK. Check in and checkout was very convenient. We highly recommend this property to tell anyone that wants to visit the area.

Excellent stay in a beautiful location

The owners and property manager were very responsive and the apartment delivered as offered. It’s a beautiful location in Spain if you are looking for fun and relaxation near the coast. Also not far from historical places, natural wonders and beautiful Malaga and Marbella. The unit is well equipped and was nicely cleaned -to perfection.

Perfect place to recharge

The property was lovely & exactly as described. The stunning views from the patio were amazing and we spent as much time out there as possible. It is the perfect place if you’re looking to relax, a peaceful, quiet location but within easy distance of the town & sea.

Great Apartment

My daughter and I had a great stay at this apartment. It’s spacious, fully equipped and all of the communication and administration was very friendly and efficient. The complex is really pretty, quiet and well kept. A car and stamina for stairs and hills are a must for all potential guests. We would stay here again.

Peace, quiet and sunshine

This property is 3 miles up the hill from Elviria. That gives you several advantages, it's a little cooler than the coastal strip, there are a lot less people and no crowding round the pool and it only takes 10 minutes to reach the Costa madness when you feel like joining in. The area is great- not as stupidly expensive as Puerto Banus but not as naff as Torremolinos. It's centrally placed for the whole Costa del Sol. The main bedroom is wonderful and spacious with a very large bathroom. The communal pool is superb (our 2nd time here) and the gated entrance provides excellent security. We loved it!!!

We had an amazing five-week stay at Paul’s apartment while my daughter attended summer camp down the hill. It truly became a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return.The location is perfect for exploring. We took day trips to Gibraltar, Mijas, Setenil, and Ronda, and even managed a weekend in Morocco. After each adventure, it was wonderful to come back to the peace of the mountains, where the nights were quiet, we slept beautifully, and always felt safe. At the same time, Elviria at the bottom of the hill offered lively beaches, great restaurants, and some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had at Kalt—worth the trip down the mountain on its own!The apartment itself is lovely and spotless, with a patio boasting beautiful views and access to a great pool in the complex. But what made the experience outstanding was the care we received from Paul and the property manager, Rosa Maria. They were both incredibly responsive to every question and need. When we accidentally jammed the eurolock by leaving keys in the door, they had a locksmith at the apartment immediately—on a Saturday! That kind of support made our stay stress-free and so enjoyable.If you’re looking for the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation in southern Spain, this is it. Between the incredible location, the comfort of the apartment, and the kindness of Paul and Rosa Maria, our family couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Aardig, maar wat sleets appartement in mooie, maar afgelegen wijk in de heuvels van Marbella

Het appartement heeft een werkelijk prachtig uitzicht over Marbella en de omliggende heuvels. Je kunt er prima wandelen. De indeling van het appartement is heel handig en het is in principe van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel is het appartement behoorlijk sleets en stoffig (muffige handdoeken, gordijnen, banken en lakens, veel oude etenswaren) een extra keer schoonmaken kon daar niet tegenop. Misschien een goed idee om het een keer goed onderhanden te nemen en wat oude spullen te vervangen? Het gedeelde zwembad wad heerlijk en de zorg van de tussenpersoon was prima. Wel was het voor ons toch wat te ver afgelegen van de winkels, stad en strand. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding voor ons helaas dus niet helemaal in balans helaas, maar met een goede opfrisbeurt en wat nieuwere spullen is het vast weer prachtig.

Die Wohnung liegt in einer sehr schönen Ferienanlage in der Nähe von Elviria. Besonders der riesige Pool, der zur Anlage gehört, hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Die Betreuung durch Rosamaria während unseres Aufenthalts war hervorragend. Die Wohnung selbst hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Sie ist sehr geräumig und funktional eingerichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden, was einen Aufenthalt angenehm macht. Die Aussicht von der riesigen Terrasse ist ein Traum. Durch die Lage in den Bergen etwas außerhalb von Elviria ist die Temperatur in der Anlage um einige Grad angenehmer, wenn es unten am Meer sehr heiss ist. Wir haben das als Vorteil angesehen. Alles in allem haben wir uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt und würden sie jederzeit wieder buchen.

The place was precisely as advertised and very nice. No trick photos to make rooms look bigger or missing amenities - it is as beautiful as the pictures show. Paul and his local property manager were friendly, kind and remained very focused on making it a great stay - they remained in contact and involved the entire trip. Our boys were at summer camp at the German school which is a 3 minute walk from the apartment. All-in-all, a great place and the landlord a class act.

Idéal !!

Nous avons passé 15 jours de vacances formidables ! L’appartement dans lequel on se sent comme dans une petite maison, est parfait ! Une très grande terrasse permettant de manger à l’ombre avec à côté des transats pour des bains de soleil et un autre espace avec une petite table et 2 chaises qui permet d’être un peu isolé et au calme. Une configuration parfaite ! La maison est très confortable. Il ne manque rien. Ou alors si on cherche la petite bête, un robot ménager (mixer par exemple) serait un petit plus. La vue est SPLENDIDE ! À la fois mer et montagne... le calme règne dans cette résidence on est au calme. La piscine est très très grande et peu fréquentée. Nous l’avions souvent pour nous tous seuls ! Rosa Maria est très disponible si on a une question ou un conseil. La région est très belle. Il faut impérativement une voiture et tout est à proximité. Les Andalous sont des gens adorables. Coup de cœur pour Mijas et Ronda qui ne sont pas trop loin. Le musée du minuscule à Mijas vaut le détour, il est des original et ludique pour les enfants. Nous avons préféré l’ambiance les plages de Fuengirola à celles de Marbella qui sont un peu plus « chic ». Côté golf, la « Cala de Golf » est magnifique et l’accueil est très bon. Pour résumer : des hôtes sympathiques et réactifs, une très belle location, une région magnifique, un soleil omniprésent : des vacances parfaites !!! Merci beaucoup Paul, Fiona et Rosa Maria !

The apartment was very beautiful and had a very good condition / standard. The local contact (Rosa) is very nice and she was always available. This apartment is absolutely lovely - possibly the nicest we have ever stayed in and we have used HomeAway many times . It is sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and the terrace is very spacious and well equipped. The surrounding area is a safe feeling neighbourhood with glorious sea views. The pool is also very nice. Highly recommended - we would love to return one day. Dealings with owner was very efficient and Rosa Maria was very friendly and helpful. Brilliant!

Meget stor og rummelig lejlighed med to store soveværelser og to store badeværelser. Skøn opholdstue og fuld udstyret køkken. Vi opholdte os mest på terassen, som var helt fantastisk - både med og uden overdækning. Poolområdet ligger lige neden for vejen og billederne lever fuldt ud op til realiteten. Flot, rent og fantastisk udsigt herfra. I byen Elviria neden for bjerget er der rig mulighed for at gøre de daglige indkøb og der er masser af gode restauranter. From start to finish, the communication and booking process was open, informative and very easy to do; the owners were very accommodating and welcoming from the off, a real pleasure to deal with. The villa is very well equipped, clean and presented making your arrival and stay exactly what you want, a home from home. The location of the villa is very well kept, secure and extremely welcoming for either families with children, or a couple seeking a get away, with views over the Elviria hills and to the sea beyond. A car is a must, but well worth it to get further into the local hills and towns where there's plenty to eat drink and do. We will have no hesitation in booking again!!

Fantastic apartment in a beautiful location with stunning views

We stayed in La Mairena for a few weeks in July and it was great. The apartment is smart, very spacious, well equipped and very clean. The views from the terrace are unbeatable. A stunning location yet only minutes from the beach and local shops. Paul and Rosa could not have done more to make us feel welcome. They were quick to answer any questions and were always on call if we needed anything. I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful spot. There is a great bar/bistro called Kudu just a few minutes away by foot with good food and again great views. Go check it out!

Spacious holiday flat with covered an uncovered terrace (sun and shadow as desired) located in a very nice andalusian style apartment complex with phantastic views ( sea and mountains). Nothing was missed besides a good orange press. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Friendly and helpfull owner and property managerin. Our visit to La Mairena was our first experience of a self-catering holiday for 15 years. We were joined (at various times during our stay) by our boys with their girlfriends. It couldn’t have been better and we will not have our holidays in a hotel again. The listing description cannot be faulted as to location, layout, facilities etc. The flat was, put simply, ‘home from home’. The 2 bedrooms are a good size, the bathrooms are well appointed, the living/dining room is spacious and there is plenty of room on the terrace for everyone to eat and sunbathe. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Both the owner and the on-site rep provided excellent customer service. We were provided with instructions as to how everything in the flat ‘worked’ and where we might like to sample the local restaurants, sights and attractions. Although the pool is a communal one, when we were there, it was not crowded. The other residents could not be regarded as ‘Club 18-30 party goers’ so it was all very civilised. You do need a car to get the best out of La Mairena. Although there are nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, when you need to buy food you have a 7km trip to the excellent supermarket at the bottom of the hill. The flat is a short car journey from Marbella and Puerto Banus where you can party, drink and eat. We suggest you hire a car from a company who will meet you at the airport with your car on your arrival. We used Yellow Car Hire. We would recommend La Mairena to anybody who wants some peace and quiet and who might also wish to sample some superb cafes and restaurants in a long-established and civilised part of Spain.

We have two apartments in Marbella. at La Mairena (8124909 or S24133) and at Torre Real (8129804 or S24782). They are both owned by Paul and Jane Abadjian, who are brother and sister. Both have been furnished and specified as homes, not merely as places to rent out, so the fixtures and fittings tend to be quite stylish and luxurious.

Paul lives in west Dorset with wife Fiona, two dogs and a small herd of Alpacas! They also offer a part of this property for holiday lets (Alpaca Cottage E 15146) Paul has enjoyed collecting classic Jaguars for more years than he cares to remember, and he and Fiona have enjoyed driving them in Russia, Argentina, Australia and Tasmania.

Why they chose this property

The location of this apartment is the best! It is in the hills above Elviria-only 7 -8 minutes drive to the coast road, but a world away in terms of quiet tranquillity. It has spectacular views down to the sea, and you can also walk in the mountains from there without driving. The pool is gorgeous, and you will often have it to yourself, and the beach is just 10 minutes away. It is a larger apartment than the majority of two bedroom apartments in the vicinity, and after viewing numerous other places first, we agreed to buy it within an hour of first seeing it! That says it all.

What makes this property unique

A place which is both stylish and restful, with large terraces, and a gorgeous pool. Nearby tennis and golf, and seaside. Marbella is only 20 minutes away, and that has everything you could possibly want, both summer and winter. The views from here will stay with you forever. The apartment has its own front door directly from the wonderful tropical gardens, so it has more of a feel of a villa rather than a typical apartment. A perfect holiday choice for a family of 4, or two couples.
