We had a lovely stay at Stonegate Barn, perfect enclosed garden for our dog plus use of a lovely field to give her a run around morning & evening. We spent a lot of time at the cottage which had comfy sofa and beds, good kitchen facilities and Angela was welcoming, informative on places to visit and lent us a cable for our laptop because we had forgotten ours. 20mins from North cliffs coast path & beautiful beaches (dogs allowed in summer before 10am & after 6pm). We had an enjoyable sunny week.
We had a wonderful stay with our two boys aged 14 and 11 . Such a lovely cottage with everything you need and in a great location as central to so many lovely places. Angela was really helpful and gaves us some really good recommendations of things to do and places to visit. We will definitely be back again.
A really lovely barn conversion in a stunning and very peaceful spot. We particularly appreciated how dog friendly this place is with a large secure garden and plenty of space on the ground floor for dog beds etc We loved the accommodation and all the little details that have been thought of - we didn’t want for anything. Overall a great find in a fabulous quiet spot and it was so nice to have such a friendly welcome from Angela Farrell. Thank you!
Stonegate Cottage is one of those amazing VRBO offerings that far and away exceeds expectations in so many ways. The cottage (a former stable) is charming and wonderfully outfitted. Where it is situated is magnificent with breezy cool days, gorgeous sunsets nightly, and the hooting of owls in the trees at night. The hosts go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed. As an example, we inquired about working potters in the area, and Mrs. Farrell shared a detailed list of working artisans, complete with their contact details. The cottage has easy access via car to local communities like nearby Pool, with conveniences like a full grocery store, and laundry facilities. Praze-an-Beeble is central to many of the attractions Cornwall has to offer, being less than an hour's drive to most. So many things about the cottage were appreciated; a kitchen with all new appliances, a working wood stove for chilly nights, and an enclosed private courtyard area which provided a haven to sip a coffee in the morning sun. Perhaps most important for those who travel a lot; a bathroom with a tub and a shower with really HOT water! Stonegate is a gem and well worth seeking out for a tranquil stay in the Cornish countryside.
Fantastic barn in an ideal location for exploring Cornwall
We spent an amazing ten days here with our teenage kids and dog during the recent heatwave. The barn was super-clean, perfectly equipped and the huge field and bbq were a real bonus during such lovely weather. Sunsets across to St. Ives bay were amazing, as were the starry nights! The location is ideal for exploring both Cornish coasts along with plenty of lovely dog walks. We particularly enjoyed visiting nearby Marazion/ St Michael’s Mount; the long golden sands near Hayle; hiring a boat up the river in Falmouth; fish and chips on the quayside at Porthleven ...could go on and yet still felt there was even more left for us to see and do! We definitely hope to return as the hosts were also very helpful and most accommodating. All-in-all one of the best stays we’ve had in the UK.
Lovely property, warm and comfortable despite the stormy weather. As the weather was so bad we were unable to make the most of the countryside but we did get to enjoy the views on one morning.
This cottage is truly stunning. The lanes to get there are a little bit mental but totally worth it when you arrive. The views are incredible. You can see all the way to the sea.
The cottage was lovely and clean and had been fogged prior to us arriving to make sure it was sanitised for our stay.
Angela popped by to say hello and was on hand for advice of where to visit while we were in Cornwall. She also left us a beautiful bottle of wine for our anniversary which was a lovely touch.
Lovely weeks holiday in Cornwall. Great cottage, lovely tranquil country location.
We had a fantastic stay for 5 nights in the cottage, very clean and well appointed. Plenty of space for four adults.
Super for our dog as well.
Everything we needed was there for our short stay.

Simon, Suzanne, Sam and Matt.

Gem of a cottage, very peaceful
Wanted accommodation away from coastal crowds but still close enough to enjoy several locations by car during day and return to relax with free secure parking plus bonus of excellent WiFi.
Hope to come back later this year.
Beautifully converted barn, well situated/central location for accessing beaches and attractions. Peaceful rural space with a very kind, attentive host. Many thanks.
A lovely, clean property in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall. We wanted to be close to St Ives, Kynance Cove and St Michael's Mount and this was perfect. The owner came to say hello just after arrival and Angela is extremely helpful and friendly. It was a really nice personal touch which we love. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys and highly recommend it here. You will have a wonderful stay.
Lovely property in a quiet setting with everything you need. Great for exploring all areas of Cornwall’s beautiful coast. Our boys loved being able to play out in the field as well.
Very lovely and personnel welcome by owner, thank you
Premises are clean and very dog friendly.

Very clean, cozy, private cottage with own garden
The barn was nicely furnished and very clean. If you like it private and remote it’s the perfect place. Lots of outdoor space for kids or dogs to play. Although it’s quite a bit of driving on narrow roads, the location is good to explore both coasts.
Angela was very nice and helpful and gave us lots of suggestions about what to see and do in the area. The oven was cozy in the evening. The WiFi was very good. Thanks a lot.

Fantastic-highly recommend
The whole experience from booking to leaving the barn was excellent. Angela communicated with us before our stay offering advice and was quick to respond to any query.
The property itself was so clean and well furnished to a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were even given a basket of logs for the log burner and a welcome snack which was appreciated.
Angela was so helpful when it came to us asking about good places to visit.
The location may look rural but it is ideal for visiting any part of Cornwall as it is so central and the views are incredible. I would definitely look to rebook!

A get away from it all -stunning picturesque stay
This is a perfect property to get away from it all- in a beautiful setting with stunning views across Cornwall. A great base for touring around Cornwall. The property was perfect if your travelling with a dog! A lovely large meadow to throw the ball in. We are a family of 4 with 2 children. They loved the freedom --it's very safe and secure to play in the field and garden. There is a lovely back yard to have breakfast outside each morning - a good suntrap and a bbq on the front for evening meals which we made good use of. There is a lovely wood burner which I'm sure would make cosy evenings in but we were very lucky with the weather and didn't need it! The accommodation was of the highest standard. Really well presented with great attention to detail. Perfect for a family or couple. Angela was the perfect host both very welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would readily return again.

Perfect location and holiday home
We stayed at Stone gate Barn at the end of October 2014. The location was perfect, our dog had a lovely field to play in, and the accommodation was as described by the owner. We were really pleased with the facilities, everything that you could possibly think of was provided. The property was spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. The owner was very helpful with suggestions of places we could visit, and some that were out of the way which was perfect for us. The owner was also very friendly, whilst respecting our privacy. I would highly recommend this property to my friends and family. The only place we visited that I wouldn't recommend was Lands End, because we thought it was a bit of a rip off. You pay to park, pay to see certain things, and even have to pay if you want your photo taken next to the Lands End signpost. We went to St Michaels Mount, had a lovely cream tea!! Some of the more local beaches. Had a lovely fish and chip supper in Falmouth. Drove through St Ives because it was so busy, but not much to see. We took our two teen aged sons with us, thought that they would get bored, but even they were amazed with the beautiful cornish scenery.
I forgot to mention the lovely log burner in the property, and I also fell in love with the front door, as mad as that sounds, you will have to see it for yourself.
