About this property
Charming And Comfortable Farm Cottage In Spectacular Garden Setting
Beautiful rural setting. The stone built cottage is adjacent to the farmhouse with full central heating included in the price. There is a fully modernised kitchen with cooker, gas hob and electric oven, fridge, deep freeze, dishwasher, microwave and extractor fan.
The WiFi is provided free and has an extremely fast full fibroptic connection.
The bathroom is downstairs with washbasin, toilet and a large shower. There is a games room downstairs, with lots of board games, books and DVDs. The remainder of the cottage is upstairs with an open plan kitchen, diner and living room. A large flat free view TV with a usb port is provided and a Humax recorder and a DVD player. There is a large selection of films on DVD available.
There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin room with electric blankets provided on all the beds (sometimes we take them off in the height of summer).
The views across the extensive gardens are excellent.
There are innumerable local walks and guests are welcome to explore the farmland which is immediately adjacent to the cottage. The land is used particularly for rearing livestock, mainly sheep and cattle although some fields will, in the summer, be growing fodder crops for winter feed.
There are a good selection of shops in High Bentham 2 miles away including 2 small supermarkets and a post office. Bigger supermarkets are available in Kirkby Lonsdale 8 miles, Lancaster 13 miles and Settle 12 miles.
There is a reliable local garage in Bentham 015242 61782 who will help with repairs but the nearest petrol stations are in Ingleton 4 miles , Kirkby Lonsdale 8 miles or Settle 12 miles. Lancaster is 13 miles west and Kendal 23 miles north. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring all that the area has to offer. The Trough of Bowland is to the south, the Yorkshire Dales to the east (Ingleborough and 'Three Peaks' area 4 miles away), the Howgills and the Lake District to the north and the coast 15 miles to the west.
