Gite With Private Pool And Garden In A Village Location - 3 night min stay

Palmerston Gite sits in the heart of the village of Genneton. We are central to several villages and towns which are all within 6km-15km, offering supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, hairdressers, bars and restaurants. In Genneton, we have a bar/cafe which is the hub of the village and provides a 'depot de pain' where you can get your daily fresh bread and croissants. We also have a small fishing lake offering daily or weekly permits.

The gite is bright and spacious with a large sitting room and generous well equipped kitchen. The back door leads into a private garden with terrace and pathway to the private in-ground swimming pool which is for the sole use of guests. There is off street parking in the courtyard.

Great place to escape the world, for more activity you need to travel a bit further, The depot de pain will organise some great croissants and pain au chocolate for you, just ask:-).

A fantastic weeks stay. Great Gite and brilliant hosts!

We’ve just returned from a lovely week stay at Palmerston Gite, in Genneton. The Gite was much more spacious than the impression we got from the photos and it was very well equipped. The drive and back Garden are enclosed so our Cairn Terrier, Bess, could run around without the possibility of her getting out. The back garden a good size and its also a good sun trap, so it was good to relax with a beer and a bbq on an evening. The gite is very private and the hosts are next door if needed but they respect privacy so you can just get on with enjoying your holiday. The pool was fantastic and had a child lock gate so no risk of our 6 year old William making a break for it. The pool was also big enough for his 6 inflatables we brought! Genneton is very well situated for visits to Theme Parks, Historic Cities, Bio Parc and many other places. Parc de la Vallée is only 15 minutes away and it’s great for Kids of all ages. The Bar in the centre of the Village is a good experience and we enjoyed the monthly Fish and Chip night with the English Expats and the locals. Also, in the village is a football pitch its next to a lake so it was good for the dog to have a run and then a swim (providing there were no fishermen around!) Sally was a fantastic host who suggested places to visit and she even took care of the Dog when we went out on Days out. I think the dog was more happy to spend time with Sally than she was with us! In the 7 years of staying at properties from HomeAway we have to say that this is by far our favorite. We couldn’t fit everything in 7 days so we can’t wait to come back for another stay!

Séjour agréable

Le séjour a été agréable malgré le malchance d’avoir eu mauvais temps et du coup de n’avoir pas pu profiter de la piscine. Sally a été très accueillante et très discrète. Le seul vrai point noir quand on n’est pas habitué c’est le clocher, très proche, qui sonne toutes les heures du jour et de la nuit mais nous nous y sommes habitués très vite. La machine à laver date un peu. Je recommande le Bioparc à Doué la fontaine !

We had an enjoyable week at david and Sally’s the pool was really lovely and sally was really nice and offered to babysit our 2 dogs for a day if we wanted her to. The garden was perfect for our the dogs as all safely enclosed front and back so we had no worries Recommend the wine tasting Sally suggested and a very enjoyable week Many thanks Tony & Jacqui

Beau gîte bien équipé.

Dans un petit village très calme. Le seul bruit, la cloche toutes les heures. Le plus, la piscine. Très bon week end. Très bien accueillis par la propriétaire.

We love living in France and moved to Genneton in 2013 having found our ideal home and gite. Our house was the former village school, whilst the gite was the village creperie.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a property that offered a lovely countryside setting whilst not being remote. Genneton is a lovely, typical French village and our property allows us (and our guests) the option to stroll to the tabac/bar and watch the world go by, or sit out in the private garden and pool area.

What makes this property unique

Genneton is within easy reach of the larger towns of Thouars (20km), Bressuire (17km) and Vihiers (12km) which all have local markets and beautiful town centres coupled with excellent supermarkets and other shops. Nearby (8km) the town of Argenton les Vallees offers a great restaurant, bank, petrol station and supermarket.

We are a pet friendly gite and offer a pet sitting service if you want to have a day/evening away visiting the local attractions.
