Our Beautiful Portuguese farmhouse sleeps up to 8 people in four double bedrooms. It is located in the Algarve between the towns of Messines and Paderne. It is in a rural location, sitting on the top of a small hill surrounded by a lovely walled garden.The garden is enchanting with paved paths winding through the plants and fruit trees to a private swimming pool.The house has a rustic feel with many original and traditional features like a wood fired bread oven.

We love to stay in this property. Knowing is far from commercial Algarve we prefer this considering the balance between bigger property and driving more.Good size pool and we love the exterior possibilities of the property.

Quirky Farmhouse

We stayed in the Farmhouse at the end of August. It is really quirky with beautiful gardens and pool area. If you are expecting mod cons this is not for you but if you want a quirky clean and comfortable place about 25 mins from Albufeira this could be the place for you. A car is essential. The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of hot water all day (sometimes too hot so you will need to be careful). We had excellent communication with Scott while we were there and he dealt with our query quickly. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Great time out for our family in a beautiful and lovingly restored farmhouse

We spent a week in the farmhouse. The communication with the owner Scott went smoothly and the whole property is super nice and you have a lot of privacy. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the adults loved the well-equipped kitchen and huge garden. It may be helpful for people travelling with younger children to know that there are separate entrances to the master bedroom and the other bedrooms. Once everyone had got used to this, it wasn't a problem for us but rather great because we had some peace during the night. The house is very charming and cosy and you can clearly see how much love has been put into the many details. If you're looking for perfection, look elsewhere. But if you love places with a soul you will immediately feel at home here. We would all love to come back soon.

La maison est vraiment top, et trés propre.de grand espace, une grande piscine, un jardin avec beaucoup de fleurs, c'est trés agréable.Elle est idéalement situé à 30 min de la majorité des lieux sympa à visiter et des plus belles plages d'Algarve.En arrivant il y a un book avec quelques informations sur la maison, la région et les activités à faire.Les propriétaires sont gentils et répondent aux questions rapidement.2 chatons ont élu domicile dans le jardin de la maison. Nous espérons qu'ils trouveront une famille pour les adopter.Je recommande cette location.Pas d'inquiétude, ils sont adorables.

Splendide maison

Vraiment une magnifique demeure nous aurions juste apprécié que la piscine soit propre à notre arrivée, que la femme de ménage nous laisse le temps de partir avant de commencer son ménage avant l'heure de départ. Mais la splendeur de la maison, la gentillesse et la réactivité du propriétaire nous ont permis de passer une super semaine.

Passamos uma semana neste magnífica casa de campo. A casa e enorme, tem todas as comodidades. O proprietário resolveu logo o problema da piscina mas infelizmente não ficou em condições. A água estava verde e estragou os fatos de banho, mas isso não depende do proprietário.

Superbe villa très bien située

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette très belle villa typique, spacieuse et avec beaucoup de charme. Le jardin et la piscine sont magnifiques. Nous avons pu rayonner en 30 min aussi bien dans l'arrière pays que sur les belles plages du littoral. Scott s'est montré très disponible durant le séjour. Nous recommandons vivement cette location !

Maison typique avec beaucoup de charme, spacieuse, jardin et extérieurs très agréables. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le séjour a Quintinha da Nova. Amazing! The photos really don’t do this property justice it’s so very beautiful! The farmhouse was amazing and the pool was gorgeous! The kids had so much fun! The Algarve was such a great location, we really enjoyed all of it! Jeep Safari and boat trip to see the caves and dolphins were awesome. Totally recommend it all for a lovely sunny and relaxing holiday and a bit of adventure thrown in!

Beautiful Portuguese Farmhouse

A great property with everything you could need for an enjoyable holiday. The owner, Scott, could not be more helpful. The Farmhouse has been beautifully restored to retain its original characteristics. We were a party of six adults and three children (8,5 and 3). The highlight of the property for us was the large pool, spending many happy hours playing with the children or just relaxing. We will definitely be booking another visit. Other reviews have mentioned the road noise but this was never a problem for us - if you need absolute silence look elsewhere. We would also recommend flip-flops or jelly shoes (especially for the children) because the path to the pool is a little uneven and the floor tiles do get very hot in the sun.

Mooi maar achterstallig onderhoud en het was bij aankomst gewoon niet schoongemaakt, echt slecht.

Het is een typisch oude Portugese boerderij. Met mooie oude details afgewerkt. Tot zover de pluspunten. Bij aankomst was er niet schoongemaakt mogelijk al weken niet. Het rook er muf en oa de keuken was gewoon erg smerig. De algehele indruk is dat er achterstallig onderhoud is. Ook beste wel redelijk veel geluid van de autoweg waar we op de website geen melding van zien Al met al het geheel kan wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I'm glad you enjoyed the authentic farmhouse details. I am sorry you didn't feel the house was clean when you arrived . Cleaning was done before your arrival but on this occasion it didn't meet the high standard we would like. Thank you also for informing us promptly that you were not happy as this allowed us to arrange for additional cleaning to be done as soon as possible and I'm pleased that you were happy with the results. Depending on the time of day and wind direction you can sometimes hear noise from the nearby road. This hasn't been a major issue for most previous guests but I will update my property description as you suggest. The farmhouse has been in our family for many years, we are updating it and modernising it each year whilst trying to maintain the unique character of the property. We feel the farmhouse whilst different from many Portuguese villas is a beautiful place to spend a holiday and we would love to welcome you and your family back in the future.

I live in the Cotswolds with my wife, 3 children and our pet labradoodle.

We have spent most summer holidays in Portugal whilst our children were small and this house has been a great place to relax with the family.

Why they chose this property

My mother bought this house over 25 years ago , whilst she was working in Portugal.

It was a bit of a restoration project. When she bought it the house was half derelict and had no bathroom or kitchen. The current lounge was a barn and the Kitchen a chicken house.

We love the countryside around this area and feel you are far enough away from the crowds to really relax but at the same time you can get to the coast in 20 mins for a day out at a great beach or attraction.

What makes this property unique

This property is different to many properties you will find along the Algarve. It is a genuine Portuguese farmhouse which has a rustic look and feel.
The house has retained some of it's original Portuguese charm , with thick walls , cane roofs and old tiles .

The old walled garden is really special, tiled paths meander around the mature plants and tree's. There are lots of shady spots to sit and while away your day.

The large pool area is also lovely and enclosed within another part of the garden.
