About this property
IDEAL EXMOOR LOCATION HOMELY 4 BED HOUSE, GARDEN, SEA VIEWS FAMILY/DOG FRIENDLY!
Family and dog friendly spacious 4 bedroom self catering holiday cottage situated in a quiet location in Porlock, Exmoor National Park has breathtaking sea views Exmoor Holidays offers the perfect peaceful retreat to relax, unwind and explore the stunning Exmoor coastline and countryside by car, bicycle, horse, landrover safari, or on foot. Numerous footpaths including the South West Coast Path and Coleridge Way are all accessible directly from our doorstep.
For those wanting to get away from it all our large south facing garden with sheltered patio and sun terrace captures the sun from dawn through to dusk and is a haven of peace and tranquillity where one can quietly sit and listen to birdsong whilst the sun goes down.
Situated in a peaceful lane in the traditional Exmoor village of Porlock but only a couple of minutes walk from the historic Ship Inn and traditional Porlock village centre. Because the property is built on a hillside most of the accommodation is on the first floor, accessed via a flight of stairs. Bedroom 4 is on the ground floor with its own kitchen & lounge diner for 2, perfect for friends/families who wish for their own space or who require ground floor accommodation. We are very popular as a generation vacation where the grandparents or older children sleep in the downstairs where they have their own ground floor kitchen, bathroom and lounge diner so they have a bit of their own space should they wish for it whilst the younger children and parents sleep in the 3 bedrooms upstairs.
Also popular for groups of extended family and friends who are on a walking, mountain biking or riding holiday, or just seeking to escape and relax in beautiful Exmoor countryside and require 4 bedroom accommodation.

About the host
Hosted by Jacquie Haylett

The property was original purchased in the 1980s by my mother, who resided in the upstairs and rented out the ground floor as a holiday apartment.
Having been brought up on Exmoor I love to return to stay in the house with my family as often as time allows, we therefore love the house not only as a holiday cottage but also see it as our own home from home.
Although we no longer live on Exmoor I still consider it to be my home. I was brought up in the nearby village of Wootton Courtenay, went to primary school in Timberscombe and then Minehead and Porlock village hall was where I went to local disco's in my teenage years! My mother was brought up in Brushford near Dulverton, where her father was the parish priest, and my father was brought up in Exford where his father was the vicar, so l consider myself to be very much an Exmoor girl at heart.
