Our house " Casa dos Pinheiros", completed in Summer 2006, is a modern, air-conditioned single-storey villa in true Portuguese style. Set on top of a hill with excellent views of the medieval town of Obidos, the sea and the world’s largest natural lagoon leading to the sea. The house is situated in the lovely village of Capeleria only 45 minutes drive from the airport at Lisbon. Fully air-conditioned/heated. The house has four bedrooms which sleep eight comfortably, including a cot and high chair for the little ones. Two bathrooms, one en-suite and one with a bath & shower. With a living accommodation comprising a lounge, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar and utility room along with a 12m x 5m heated infinity swimming pool and large terrace with BBQ. Set in 6500 square meters of gardens and orchard with peach and plum trees. Perfect for families and friends, peaceful amidst spectacular panoramic views, 10 mins drive to beaches, 15 min walk or 5 min drive from medieval World Heritage walled town & castle of Obidos with annual Christmas, Medieval, chocolate and opera festivals, fado & tapas bars, 'Pingo Doce' supermarket and public indoor swimming pool. Villa extremely well equipped, table footie, basketball net, SKY, DVD player, Freesat TV/radio, WIFI, BBQ etc.. a truly stunning property.

Wonderful holiday house

Our family of 2 adults and 5 children (aged between 3 and 10) stayed at this wonderful house in early July 2017. From before we booked, the owner, Richard Allen, was extremely responsive to emails and, while we were there, to texts. The information booklet he provided was invaluable throughout our stay, starting with directions for getting to the house from the airport. While the weather was a bit cooler than normal, that didn't stop our boys from getting full use of the fabulous pool. The outdoor area is fantastic and completely safe for young children who like to run around. Everything you could need to enjoy the pool and the beach is provided. The house itself was very roomy and clean and comfortable. Having sky and BBC/itv on satellite made it a home from home. Anything you need is in the kitchen and there was more than enough room for everyone to sit and eat comfortably. Obidos town, inside the castle walls was pure old world Europe and we would have liked to spend more time there, but the young children weren't as impressed lol. The location was perfect for us to explore Lisbon to the south, the gorgeous coast from Nazare to Foz, and north up to Fatima. All in all, a wonderful place to spend a holiday and we would recommend it to anyone looking for an idyllic holiday house off the tourist path. Plenty to do and a nice quiet house with a fab pool to relax in after. Thank you to the Allens.

Lovely house & stunning views

The house was comfortable and spacious. The pool was large and afforded spectacular views across the valley to Óbidos and the lagoa. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need, including facilities to cook for a large group. We enjoyed using the BBQ and helping ourselves to the fruit from the trees. On soggy, cold or windy days the pool table and table tennis were extremely welcome. Great location to explore the local area and base for surfing in nearby Peniche. Usseira has an excellent and friendly restaurant, Poço do sabores, in walking distance. The local restaurant is ok but unfriendly.

Schöner Aufenthalt für die ganze Familie

Wir waren mit 2 Familien in der Villa und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sauber und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Billard und Tischtennis waren noch ein Highlight. Die Kommunikation mit Richard verlief immer sehr gut, schnell und lösungsorientiert ab - können die Villa auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Fabulous villa

This was our second visit to Casa dos Pinheiros and just as lovely as last time. Our hosts could not have been more helpful in providing information for our stay. The house is spacious and very well equipped including the pool/table tennis table which was very popular! We were a group of grandparents, adult children and grandchildren and the house and garden gave us plenty of space to be together, or to find a place to read a book in peace from time to time. The pool area is lovely with stunning views down to the sea and Obidos lagoon. Obidos is a short drive away with shops to mooch around, coffee and pastel de nata as a treat and the lovely castle and walls - plenty to keep the children occupied. The local restaurant was good, excellent value and very accommodating to children including offering half portions for our granddaughter. All in all, a lovely holiday.

Fabulous

Fabulous villa, immaculate and extremely well equipped with everything you need for a family. The pool is large for a villa and very well maintained. The views down to Obidos are amazing. We absolutely loved it as we prefer places a bit off the beaten track. If you want to be within walking distance of lots of restaurants and bars, this isn’t the place for you. If you are happy to BBQ the lovely local fish and walk to the restaurant down the road for dinner from time to time, it’s perfect. Obidos is only a 5-7 minute drive away for lunch. But please don’t come here, because we want to keep this gem to ourselves.!!

Bonito chalet

Es una vivienda muy bonita con un buen jardín y una preciosa piscina. La casa está muy bien equipada, no le falta detalle. La única pega que le pondría es que el el anuncio indica que la piscina es climatizada y no es del todo cierto, ya que funciona con paneles solares y cuando está nublado como fue nuestro caso no funcionan. Esto junto con que la cubierta de la piscina se estropeó el segundo día de nuestra llegada, hizo que la temperatura de la piscina pasará de 28° a 21°.

Urlaub in Obidós

Ein erholsamer und schöner Oktoberurlaub 2019 in Capeleira. Das Haus bietet alles, was man im Urlaub braucht und noch ein wenig mehr. Den Pool konnten wir wetterbedingt nicht so intensiv nutzen. Die Lage ist ideal für Ausflüge in die Umgebung, z. B. Peniché, Port de Mos und Lissabon. Mehr haben wir nicht geschafft.

We are not one for allowing reviews to mace our holiday choice but the site and reviews for This property were very good and our expectations were high! So in a nutshell when you arrive and walk round the property to go in you have to pick your jaw off the floor when you see the views! The sea, lagoon, hills, forest and villages, wow! When you enter the house you realise the owners are very keen cooks! The enormous kitchen equipped with everything you would have at home and more! The lounge has the most amazingly comfortable sofas and all the bedrooms are lovely. Definitely exceeded expectations!!!!!! (We’ve not even mentioned Obidos the Beach and the area!) we will be back 😬

A Lovely place

We had such a lovely time here. The people were lovely from the start and everything exceed expectations. its a beautiful villa with spectacular views a huge swimming pool and the area is fabulous. Obidos and the beach are truly stunning.

Fabulous villa in a lovely location

We were 2 couples who stayed at this villa for 12 days and loved every minute. The home is clean, bright and spacious. The pool was perfect to cool off in and relax around after a day of sightseeing. The location was very private yet minutes from groceries and highway access and the best little restaurant with the best food ever! Owners were very responsive and really helpful. Fantastic villa in beautiful location

We had a great stay in the villa. The kids practically lived in the pool and the views from the deck are stunning. The villa itself is very well equipped and the lay out is perfect. We were 2 families (4 adults and 4 children) and we had plenty of space. We had one problem when we were there but after messaging Richard he responded in minutes and the management company came and got it all fixed 15 minutes after that! We were very impressed and appreciative of the the speedy response. Óbidos is beautiful with lots of lovely restaurants and gift shops. The local restaurant served really good food and is definitely worth a visit. The beaches are beautiful and the lagoon is great for the kids with calm shallow water to play in. Overall would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Great time as always!

This was our 7th time at this wonderful villa and that says it all. We love this place. Great location, great food and a great swimming pool. Beaches are superb as well. Left a couple of inflatables for the next guests as well. Thanks to the Allens.

The pool was a good size for the kids to enjoy. The local restaurant is very good.

Richard was very helpful when booking. We had a number of queries when we were at the villa and Richard was very responsive. Villa is in a good location to visit the beach towns and local markets. We stayed for two weeks and the bed linen was not changed. Other villas I have rented the linen has been changed after the 1st week. The pool and bbq area was enjoyed by the whole family as were the plums we picked at the end of the garden. The local restaurant is a must very good food for adults and kids. Overall we really enjoyed staying at this villa.

Great villa with a beautiful garden

We spent two weeks in Óbidos and this lovely villa! Great house, fantastic garden and view. The pool was perfect for us! The owner was very helpful and friendly and always responded quickly to all my questions. We also visited Óbidos lagoon and it was amazing and really worth a visit! We had a wonderful vacation!
