The cabin was clean, warm, and perfect for our short trip. We found out the heater works very well, had to turn it down some in the evenings. The gas fireplace is fun, and the timer feature was a good idea, but it's only for show.We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was equipped with everything we needed. It's nice to be able to drive up and park at the door, especially in the rain. The beds were good, bathrooms were nice. The main floor bathroom is quite small but good enoughfor two people.
We had plenty of space, linens well stocked, cabin stayed warm it was close to the slopes & downtown. The paint throughout the cabin needs to be touched up. Lower level shower is very small. Gas fireplace is loud. Kitchen cookware well used & needed to be cleaned. Limited supply of cooking utensils & measuring spoons/cups. No Wi-Fi.
The cabin is small, cozy, and perfect for our family of four. You could certainly double up the upstairs beds and use the living room for more guests. We were in town to ski and snowboard, so 5 star accommodation was not necessary. The distance to the ski resort was “in between” for us. It’s walkable in snowboard boots, but I wouldn’t with ski boots or younger kids. Our biggest criticism was that the temp throughout the cabin fluctuates a lot. Bedrooms stay 15 degrees warmer than living/kitchen with doors closed, so I’d recommend leaving them open. All of the windows in the living area are very leaky, which I have no doubt is the reason for the temperature issue. The kitchen could use a few more utensils. Overall we had a positive stay. We really enjoyed the fireplace and all the wildlife in view from the cabin. There is evidently a local bobcat that walks the river, as I have now seen it twice in a month.

So great we stayed an extra night! 😀
This place is very clean, kitchen supplies well stocked, beds are comfortable, and TV's have satellite TV. Bathrooms are well appointed and we loved the fireplace! The tile floors look like wood and the whole place looks like a cabin deep in the woods. However, it's a short walk to the duck ponds, the ski area, and Main Street shopping.
We stayed over Thanksgiving and accidentally stayed an extra day. No problem! We called the front office and extended our stay. This is a great place and we are already figuring out when we will return.
While linens and paper products are provided, bring extra toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, bath and body products, and dish soap for extended stays. Der Markt (the local grocery store) has supplies if you don't want to haul it with you. While the DVD rental is no longer offered, you do have Dish TV for those moments you just need to rest indoors from all the outdoor fun. No dishwasher or dedicated internet in our unit but we got 3G just fine on our phones. Taos is about 45 minutes away and Questa is another small, friendly town to explore. All the shopping and eating you can handle is a short walk away from the cabin.
Overall, this was a great holiday getaway for us. We can't wait to come back and enjoy the slopes!

Keep searching!
Upon arrival the office was closed so they left us an envelope with a key out. When we found the cabin, the key did not work. I called the emergency number and a very nice man came and unlocked the door. He did not leave a key but said he’d be back in the morning with a new lock. The next day we didn’t see anyone until after 2pm (after we called to remind them about the lock) so we had to leave the door unlocked all day or would have had to stay in.
Tiny bedroom downstairs, literally not enough room to open your suitcase on either side of the bed.
(I am not a big person, 5’3, 120lbs and I think it’s small.)
The downstairs bed had a broken box springs so the bed sloped to one side.
I reported the bad bed first thing in the morning (day after arrival) and they assured me the bed would be fixed that day. It was not. We slept two nights on a broken bed before we could get someone to come “repair” it. Even after the so called repair it was still bad. The slope changed sides is the only thing that changed.
The shower downstairs is smurf size. Don’t drop the soap or you might fall out or get wedged! When you turn your back to the water your face is pressed up against the shower wall, can’t imagine how bad it would be if you’re a large person, actually it might be impossible.
The upstairs bedrooms are a smidge bigger, one has a queen bed , the other a king. Bathroom in-between is normal size with bathtub/shower.
Tile floors downstairs in kitchen and living. Carpet upstairs and in bedrooms.
The fireplace is nice. TV worked fine, they offer Direct TV.
THERE IS NO WIFI AND ATT WILL NOT WORK THERE!
Let’s talk about the kitchen:
Pans are old and could use an upgrade.
The pans I did use were dirty coming out of the cabinet so I had to wash before I used them.
There are ZERO cleaning supplies. There are ZERO paper towels. Definitely will need to bring some dish soap as there’s no dishwasher. Either grab soap or paper products including plastic silverware. They leave 2 trash bags. It’s also expected to have all the dishes done when you leave which could explain why a lot of the stuff I pulled out of the cabinet was dirty.
You are asked to haul your trash to the nearby brown trash bins around town.
There are 2 small pub tables with 4 chairs each.
The cabin is located within walking distance to downtown/activities.
It is sandwiched in between other cabins, not much space on either side.
No washer/dryer in the cabin.
We had a good stay at this wonderful property!! In Red River, so it was close to all the fun stuff. Definitely recommend for a family. We are 6 total. 2 adults and 4 kids.
Very convenient to the ski area. Living area is very small and doesn't accommodate a full house based on the occupancy listed. But overall we enjoyed our stay.
The rooms are small in this cabin, tucked into a gap between other cabins. Not fancy, but nice accommodations. The downstairs bath is tiny, with a shower the size of a small phone booth. Nowhere to unpack or store a suitcase. Downstairs mattress is old, with a significant hump in the middle, but otherwise comfortable. Upstairs is a queen and a king with a normal-sized bath. Heat is inconsistent with some rooms hot while others are cold. Kitchen is nice with plenty pots and pans, though we didn't cook. West end of town is walkable from here. Overall good value for the cost.

Mold in shower
We were glad to find this cabin last minute, and had a very easy time getting the keys to it and all the info! When we arrived there was a nice basket of coffee and plenty of towels! When we showered we noticed a lot of leaks around the shower insert and lots of mold at the top!! Gross!!!! Everything else seemed clean and nicely appointed! The only other problem we ran into, was a lot of noise at night that kept us up!
I can’t tell you how impressed I was by the management co. Their friendliness, professionalism and all around interest in me having a good experience was above and beyond. My cabin was lovely and just right for my guests. Though it was close to everything, I loved that it felt remote.

Not what we expected.
*not very clean
*missing lightbulbs
*extremely small shower
*only one small pan
*windows are not easy to open
*bedding wasn’t clean
Cabin was in good location. Needs some work. One bed broke and was reported. Windows were hard to open and close. Front porch rail was deteriorating. Need to let tenants know that there are no staples. (Salt, pepper, foil, etc) Was clean and easy access to downtown. Staff was easy to work with.

We didn’t have a good experience...
The property photos are much better than reality; the only view is of a broken down dump truck. Otherwise you’re boxed in by a multi tenant unit and other cabins. The beds are really, really uncomfortable, the living room furniture is worn out and incredibly uncomfortable and, to top it off, the beds didn’t have clean sheets. The windows don’t open and the place was dirty. Overall, it was a let down and we left a day early. Too bad...
