Great Location

Great location. We inew about the contruction next door but unit is very sound proof and construction is ver considerate. Only starts at 8am and gone by 4pm. Road is closed if so great to unload. Great food and access to transport. Once the big fancy mall will be done I presume this property will be much more expensive

Nicely Located Bayswater Apartment, Hyde Park & Kensington Adjacent

The apartment was very nice and clean. It was located in a great neighborhood, with plenty of shops and several nice restaurants. The tube stop (Bayswater) was a very short walk away. We were supposed to arrive early and did not want to make a stop at the rental office, so the property manager arranged for us to check in online early and all we had to do was pick up the keys at a neighborhood market which had a lockbox with our keys. That process was easy. The keys included a wireless fob, which we did not know how to use. No instructions were given for that and, since this is fairly unknown in the US, we had no idea what to do. Fortunately, our Uber driver knew exactly how to get us in. The apartment had a regular key, but it would have been helpful to know about the wireless fob situation in advance. The building itself has seen better days, but that was only cosmetic, as the apartment was fine. The lift was invaluable. When we arrived, they were finishing cleaning and needed to bring more coffee. Before he returned with coffee, we discovered one of the bathroom lights didn’t work. We notified him when he returned and it was promptly fixed. All in all, it was a nice place to stay. The only negatives were that the en-suite bathroom had very little storage. It would have been helpful to have had more hooks for hanging towels and a carryall in the shower for our shampoo, conditioner, etc. In addition, there was only one teeny bar of soap in the en-suite bathroom which barely lasted our 4 days but would not have lasted a week. There were 2 bars in the other bathroom but there should have been 2 in the en-suite bathroom, as well. We also ran out of paper towels and there were no ice cube trays to make ice. That would have been helpful, also. There were only 3 juice glasses and 3 tall glasses and very few plates, so it was necessary to do dishes by hand. This was fine since we only ate breakfast there, but would have been impossible for a family of 4. Another dish drying towel would have helped, too. Because of the lack of amenities, I gave this apartment a rating of 4. But I would recommend it if someone is looking for a well-situated apartment in a nice neighborhood, Hyde Park & Kensington adjacent. There was construction in a building across from the apartment, but they stopped work at 6 PM and closed the street at 10 PM. Work did not begin until 8 AM, so it was never a problem for us. Management of this apartment was very helpful.

Worked Well for Family Stay

Overall, the experience was very positive. The construction across the road on the Whitely will certainly be going on for a while, but we did not book this location for the view. The place was nice and clean and worked very well for our family. And, not being from the UK, it was very nice to have the air conditioning units that helped out on a couple very muggy days/nights - and allowed us to close windows and not be overcome from the construction noise at the Whitely across the street during the day. Public transport was close by, as were numerous shops and places to eat. The common area were a bit worn, but kept clean and tidy.

Good but not great

Arrived, found check in at small liquor store, since we were early had to pay 50 pounds for early check in, we were exhausted from travel so this was a must. When arrived "freshen up" being completed, including spray of fragrance. Kitchen had basics (gave us coffee, thanks!), but nothing in the way of spices or essentials for preparing food. The images did not match the actual flat, close but only bathrooms were same. Furniture changed, beds seem to be lower less lavish. Bath tiles had damage, floor looks to be sagging. Oder of possible previous clients or restaurant below seemed to be present constantly, was forced to wash all clothes to remove. No soaps for wash/dry and no soap for dishwasher. We stocked all and left behind for hopefully next renters. Location was as expected with being a little ways from touring spots, but the big issue was the construction site directly accross from bedrooms. They are quite after 6pm and then don't start until about 7:30am, but it's not a pretty site for sure and if you wanted afternoon nap or sleep in, good luck. In hindsight, we had a good trip and mission accomplished, but I am never happy when a rental is not as described in pics or overstated luxury. Especially when they don't give you basics for why most choose to stay in homes versus hotels.
