Villa Mermaid is a true Croatian delight that allows you true peace and tranquility without being too far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The villa is located in Podstrana, a popular village 15 kilometers from Split. Podstrana is known for its beautiful beaches, authentic gastronomy and historical heritage sites. The beaches hold many watersports and the scenic hills are perfect for hiking or cycling. Split is a short distance away where you will be able to enjoy the many sites it has to offer and also catch a ferry to surrounding islands including Brac or Makarska.The villa is a short distance away from the beach, but we’re sure that you will spend most of your time in the luxury pool out on the terrace. The pool comes with jets for anti-current swimming and heating is included in the price. The entrance to the pool has an auxiliary bar and is adapted for those with disabilities.Also on the terrace is an abundance of sunbathing space as well as an outdoor shower, table tennis table, a playground, outdoor dining area and BBQ where you enjoy dining al fresco whilst keeping the children and adults entertained. These amenities are accompanied by planted trees and neatly trimmed grass.If swimming is not enough exercise for you, a fully equipped gym with a boxing bag is located below the first floor. On the first floor, there is a large, modern kitchen, dining area, and living room as well as a pool table and games room.Through these rooms, you have direct access to the terrace and pool area. In the living room, there is a PlayStation 3 available to use as you wish. A room for exercise with a boxing bag is located below ground level. On the ground floor, modern kitchen and dining room are in one place and together with the billiard table have direct access to two garden terraces. For lovers of video games, Play Station 3 is at your disposal in the main living room.There are also two bedrooms with private bathrooms on the first floor, one of which has three single beds and has been adapted for people with disabilities. The other two bedrooms are comfortable double bedrooms with an abundance of storage space and access to the upstairs terrace, where you can embrace the breathtaking views over the Adriatic.

Glorious residence!

We will definitely be back. Host was super helpful and went out of his way…even getting us olive oil. The house is beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, outdoors pool, and patios. The beach is just down the street and center of split is an easy 30 min drive away. This home made our beautiful weekend trip to Croatia ever more special. Thank you.

Family vacation for nine in Croatia

An amazing place to stay at, the house, garden and everything is superb. Really like the space everybody had and each bedroom has it's own bathroom and both floors have kitchen. The pool and the terrace is great, plenty of space for sunbathing and playing in the pool. Also a playground for the youngest that is in a shade of trees which is really good when the sun is at is hottest. Outdoor BBQ and dining area that we used and had an great authentic Croatian dinner, highly recommend it. Very clean and well equipped Villa with plenty of activities like gym, pool table, darts, ping pong table and ect. Highly recommend it for families, easy access and close to the beach. The host was amazing helping us with everything that we needed and answering everything that we needed help with.

High-end vacation!

The house was perfect, the view was unbelievable and it had all the comforts of home. The church bells woke us up to the Mediterranean sun. Great location right next to Split. Parking behind the home was easy to use. The only thing we would have wanted was instructions to the appliances throughout the house as the buttons were faded to select. The host was great. Thank you for helping us make great memories

Amazing villa, wonderful views

The property is very spacious and clean. It is well thought out and attention to detail is noticeable. Kitchen is well fitted out with everything needed. Bedrooms all spacious with their own bathrooms, beds good size with nice linen. All bathrooms generous sizes also two more separate toilets. The pool area is great and the pool is a nice size. The balcony at the front is great to sit on in the evening and watch the sun go down over split. The general area unfortunately let it down for us as it is quite run down and the restaurants on the beach are quite sparse unless you want to get an Uber or walk for about 25 mins. Amigos on the beach is highly recommend we ate there twice. We also tried Mario’s which is close by on the beach which was fine. The beach is very pebbly but also beautiful. The church across from the house has bell ringing on the hour and half hour. At six in the morning it rings for 2 mins which we were quite shocked at. However as the week went on we did get used to it and managed to get back to sleep. Tanja the owner is fab. We had a storm one morning which cut out our electric upstairs. I got in contact with her and it was fixed the same day. She is very helpful and friendly.

Great facilities, from the well equipped kitchens, the gym to the size of the pool; the separate bbq space and several balconies. Couldn’t wish for more. Spectacular views yet Close to the beach and easy access to Split or the coast the other way. The hosts were lovely people and extremely helpful Nothing to complain about- there are early church bells each day but they add to the atmosphere of the place (once you get used to them)

The most amazing villa, breathtaking views, fantastic amenities. - From the day we arrived we had the most amazing welcome from Kris the owner, he’s thought of everything to make your holidayspecial for this fantastic holiday destination. The villa has the most amazing facilities from the most comfiest beds I have ever stayed in, to the luxury of space over 3 floors. For a group of 9 there was plenty of space to escape and have your little piece of relaxation. The cleanliness is second to none and there is everything in the kitchen for any type of cooking or even baking! You have to try the traditional bbq and cook on it ! What a treat and the fruit growing on site is amazing too. There is a brilliant social space from table tennis to a pool table to multiple TVs. Then there is the pool! Wow this place is amazing and there are plenty of beds and sofas to chill out when soaking up the stunning Croatian weather. One night we had an unexpected storm which literally threw everything everywhere and the next day it was all cleared and sorted before anyone stirred! There is nothing missing in this villa. The location has plenty of small local shops to get the local bread and cakes and daily supplies and Split is not far, with it’s absolutely stunning scenery and plenty of things to do. You cannot fault this Villa for its upmost quality, service and the attention to detail which has been provided to give you a fantastic holiday. Thank you for making our holiday extremely special.

Beautiful Villa. The owners are pleasant and excellent hosts. No complaints. The church bell lets you know the time without having to look at your watch. If you are disturbed by the bells there's shutters to block or the sound and light. I would come back here the owners are professional and accommodating.

5* Luxury Villa for group with spectacular sea views

5* Luxury Villa for group with spectacular sea views - You will not be disappointed with this Villa! We - a party of 6 adults and 5 children - stayed here in April for one week (all wished it could have been longer....). The Villa is located a few minutes walk away from the seafront but far back enough to offer complete privacy and spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea and the town of Split to the front and the Perun Hill to the rear. Tanja, the lovely owner, met us on arrival with a much appreciated welcome basket and answered all our questions. The interior of the Villa is presented beautifully, it is clean, modern and airy with two kitchens/living areas complete with all appliances and dining tables and sitting areas. All the bedrooms have spacious en-suites with large walk in showers or bath plus HUGE comfy beds and pillows. Every room had its own AC / Heating unit which is great for groups. This is a big Villa and even includes a hotel style gymnasium which surprisingly some of us even used. A pool table, a full size tennis table, a dart board and table football offered everything for the competitive types and were great fun for the evenings we stayed in. Although there are numerous balconies (which are real sun traps in the evening) the highlight has to be the pool area. The pool is heated and even had a current jet which you could swim against if used. It has both a shallow area (with a non-slip surface to enter) and a slightly deeper end (5ft?) making it really family friendly. Plenty of towels for both the pool area and the bathrooms were also provided. We contemplated hiring cars but were really glad we didn't as we found that regular buses took you cheaply either West to the town of Split or East to the town of Omis, both of which we would highly recommend visiting as they really are stunningly beautiful. We took a small river boat cruise up the Cetina river which was good value whilst at Omis. Next time we'll try the Zip wire! As the Villa was so nice, we did eat in more than we'd planned and made good use of the BBQ area. However, there are some great restaurants a short walk away from the Villa (you can cross the road via under passes which are dotted along the road) where you can sit on small rock jetties and watch the sun go down in the evening - perfect! For stocking up on food for the week we found a small bakery and three small supermarkets all within 5-10mins walk from the Villa with everything we required. If you are feeling fit one day, I would recommend walking up to Old Podstrana, then taking the path up the Perun Hill to complete The Stations of the Cross walk which takes you to the Chapel of Saint George (which you can see on the brow of the hill top from the pool of the Villa). This old church is dated no later than the 11th century and the views are remarkable. Thanks Villa Mermaid - we all had a fantastic time and we can't wait to come back!
