Brilliant location

The best thing about this spacious basement flat is its wonderful location. It is a little over a block from the Gloucester Road tube station, and it is a stone’s throw from Kensington Gardens and many museums. The flat was also extremely clean. (Because it is below street level, it could at times smell of mildew.) Compared to other places I have stayed, the kitchen is not suitable if you plan to do serious cooking. This will probably not be an an issue for most people who are on vacation. The kitchen is perfect for storing cold food and for heating up food in the microwave or in the oven. The kitchen also has lots of plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware. (Note: the small round sink in the kitchen is very shallow, and it is virtually impossible to use it without splattering water on yourself and the counter.) In my view, this is not a suitable flat for anyone with mobility issues. The cement steps leading down to the flat appear to be original to the house. They are extremely steep and uneven, and the treads are shallow and uneven. They were very difficult for me to navigate, despite the handrail. In the flat, there is a step from the dining area to the kitchen. There are two steps into the small middle bathroom, which has a small sink, a toilet, and a shower (no tub). The bathtub in the back bathroom is on a relatively high platform with a very narrow ledge. This makes getting in and out of the tub difficult. There is a fixed glass shower door by the tap so I believe that bathing a child would be difficult as well. In fairness, we did not have a small child with us so we didn’t have to find out. The flat does not receive a lot of natural light. The living room has large windows at sidewalk level. The back bedroom gives onto a small enclosed patio, which in turn leads to a sunny room with a desk. The middle of the flat receives no natural light. The flat has a lot of electric lighting choices, though, as well as mirrors, so it did not feel dark. The wifi does not reach to the back bedroom. While we stayed, the upstairs neighbors, who kept odd hours, were very loud. It was possible to hear both their footsteps and their conversations. I highly recommend this flat for adults with no mobility issues who do not intend to do a lot of cooking. As noted above, the location is brilliant!!

Kensington Apartment

Very good rental in great location, however mattresses in 2nd bedroom were poor and need to be replaced. When Laying on the two twin beds you can feel the springs. Property manager brought mattress toppers which helped but given the amount paid for the rental I was not pleased with that solution. Property management group excellent in communication and responsiveness. Large basement apartment, lots of wainscoting, crown molding and all wood floors. Small but efficient kitchen, nice living room that can accommodate 4 adults. 2 full baths but MBR bath has high step in and somewhat dangerous trying to step out of tub shower as tub is raised up from floor. Lots of storage and closets. Great location close to 2 Tube stations, Tesco Express and several restaurants all within 5-10 minute walk. 10 minute walk to Hyde Park and Royal Albert Hall for concerts. Overall, a good choice for 4 adults if mattresses in 2nd BR are replaced.

Prime South Kensington Location

We just returned from a 10 day stay in this lovely flat. It was the perfect arrangement for two couples. The location was ideal for access to the tube and for its for proximity to museums, shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The flat was as described, spacious and modern. It was very clean and the owners were very responsive to any questions that came up during our stay. There is ongoing construction next door but the work did not begin until 8 AM. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property, ideal location

My two teenage sons and I came to London for the first time to explore the city. This property was ideally located very near the museums and metro stops- very much in the heart of all there is to see and do in London. The property was well maintained and property management was very helpful and yet unobtrusive. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic location and good space!!

The location is perfect. Easy walk to both South Kens and Gloucester tube stops and the 74 route bus stops outside the flat!! The flat is spacious and gives plenty of room whilst staying. Two beds rooms and two baths make getting ready easy. The small kitchen is enough space for cooking or morning coffee. If you are not used to city noise then a noise machine or ear plugs might be handy in the 1st bedroom but the back bedroom is quiet as a field mouse. Both beds are comfortable and pillows great. But the greatest part of the property is its location!! If you get a chance to stay here you should!!
