In a carefully restored Maison de Maître, in the heart of Languedoc, we offer unbeatable accommodation in authentic surroundings in a vibrant charming southern French little village. The accommodation is located in the heart of the small village, within walking distance of all services and amenities. The house was built in the middle of the 19th century and recently renovated in 2016-23, where all the contemporary details such as beautiful windows and doors, original floors, ceiling stuccos, French balconies and a wonderful height to the ceilings are preserved. The house has 5 bedrooms and 1 studio, all with central heating and A/C and private bathrooms in old-fashioned style but with all modern conveniences. The studio also has its own kitchen, with a double bed and sofabed and comes with a small dining area. In the common areas you will find lovely spaces to hang out, a large spacious dining room with seating for everyone, a lounge area where you can relax with a good book in seclusion and also a cozy corner in front of the fireplace. A soccer game awaits your competitions! The kitchen is well-equipped and modern, with cooking for the big family or friends. The kitchen opens to the pool and terrace area, with lovely deck chairs, lounge furniture, both in the sun and shade. In the lush garden, there is an abundance of beautiful flowering trees and shrubs and of course its own barbecue area and a large generous dining table for wonderful outdoor dining. If you want some time for yourself, you can find your little secluded corner in our pergola, covered in the most beautiful wisteria. Ping-pong table and racquets can be made available upon request. In the village you will find everything you need, a post office, several banks, restaurants, a couple of pizza bakers, 2 good bakeries, a small local business selling grocery, vegetables and fresh fruits as well as a well-stocked LIDL supermarket. The oyster van arrives every Friday night at the small square. Here you also can find the local food market , Tuesdays and Saturdays. If that is not enough, we have an unbeatable supermarket just 5 minutes away. There is also hairdresser, technology store and car rental service. The accommodation has free wifi. End cleaning, towels / pool towels, bed linen are included. The house is self-caterered, so no meals are included. Smoking is not allowed and parties are not permitted. In order to book, you need to be a minimum age of 25. The accommodation is not adapted for disabled persons and has several floors, with stairs and different levels, and therefore not fitted for children 2-6 years. Free parking is available behind the house. Parking space for up to 3 cars in the runway. The location is amazing, close to the National Park with hiking and climbing, close to Mediterranean with panoramic beaches stretching miles and miles, the river Orb with cool pebble beaches, vineyards with wine visits and tasting, excursions, culture and history. The culture here is old and can be derived back to romans, visigoths and gauls. In Languedoc, there are many protected natural and cultural heritage on UNESCO World Heritage Site, such as Pont du Gard, Canal du Midi and Carcassonne's old walls and castles. Well worth a visit! The Cathar castles are also interesting, as are the villages of St. Guilheim-le-Désert and Aigues Mortes, dating back to the Knights Templar. And if you want a city to go to, the cities of Béziers and Montpellier can be found at a convenient distance. During spring, summer and autumn, the vicinity offers wine tours with tapas, village parties, barbecues and free concerts. In Béziers, only 10 minutes away, is there always a party going on in the evenings and in August a fantastic Feria for a whole week! We recommend a car to discover everything!

Beautiful, comfortable home accommodating 8 adults and 5 grandchildren with all of the amenities and more! Excellent communication with the owner who was friendly and inviting. Comfortable sleeping accommodation - good beds, air conditioning in the bedrooms, all very clean!
The pool off the deck was great for everyone, especially the 5 grandchildren.
Thanks, Therese for a memorable stay.

Therese
We enjoyed three weeks at this lovely house in August, 2025. Therese was a pleasure to communicate with from start to finish; the house was very spacious and well decorated, with everything you'd need for a relaxing stay (not least the pool, given the high-30s heat). The village has most of the things you'd need but there's a bigger shop in the next village over, if needed. Beziers super-close (35 mins on bus); river swimming a couple of miles away and the beach within an hour. Would highly recommend.

Simon can be our best guest ever! He and his family has taken good care of the house and has been very easy and pleasing to communicate with. Issues that occurred was easily solved. The protocol for checking out was followed to the letter and we also received a nice thank you note. Please come back! :-)
This house is perfect for a large group with its many rooms and large garden.
There is a local boulangerie and small supermarket with a large one in easy reach.
The pool and gardens are very well laid out with lots of seating/dining areas.
We had a lovely stay thanks so much!

About the host
Hosted by Therese Stolt
For us, a happy couple deriving from Sweden, he idea of D’oc d’or started as a distant dream more than 25 years ago, as a dream of another life, far away from a stressed life of bustling careers, work and rat race. It was our dream to build something unique and with the perfect ambience in a small village in France, combining our interest in PEOPLE, wine and food to a great and unforgettable experience. For us as well as for many others, it seemed for a long time to stop at the distant dream, but in 2014 we finally took the step and left our earlier life for a promising future in the department of Hérault, Languedoc. From now on, our life will be filled with sunshine and joy, new friends at a more relaxing pace and time develop new interests and cultivate old ones.
Having a long experience in running a business in restaurant, catering and B&B in Sweden, we look forward to bringing our philosophy to this beautiful corner of France and with dedication, attention to detail, hard work and PASSION give our guests a home away from home and a great experience for your best vacation spot ever. The soul and ambience of the guesthouse is brought with intention and hard work to add our ideas, design, planning and performance. We hope that you will appreciate the result and enjoy your time with us! Our aim is to give our guests a "Home away from home" and a great holiday experience!
Why they chose this property
Our dream was to create something unique and with the perfect feel to it in the rural and rustic part of southern France. We instantly found what we were looking for in this house, with its period features, charm and long history. In 2015 we opened up the gates of our newly renovated house, with 5 rooms and 1 studio, all newly renovated in the style of the period and with their own character and private, modern bathrooms. Soul, flair and mind was already in place, with our ideas and interpretation to keep the best and add modern amenities, the history and contemporary has merged into a genuine entirety. We hope you will feel like us!
What makes this property unique
The long history of the house, with the same wine merchant family owning the house through decades, has left the beautiful and original features intact in the house, now carefully restored to its former glory. The unique, original carrelage (floor tiles) in beautiful painted patterns, the high ceilings, the stucco and the roses, the beautiful French windows and doors, the impressive entrance, the French balconies in wrought iron and the wonderful garden in the middle of the village, give a cozy, pleasant impression, but also memories from a bygone era. The pool, in the middle of the "town" is wonderful to enjoy on hot summer days. The beautiful curved staircase stretching over three floors gives an airy spacious feeling,
