Megan our host was very communicative and addressed any issues quickly and thoroughly- the views are amazing and there are some great hikes right out the door. Piemonte food and wine are great to experience in this tranquil and peaceful setting. Highly recommend!!
Torre Barolo is a very unique property. Centrally located in the heart of the charming town of Barolo. It offers a panoramic view of the gorgeous countryside from every window and a spectacular roof top terrace. Clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Be mindful that there are four different levels connected by stairs. We found it to be a perfect base for exploring the Langhe wine region.
Great location but would have appreciated clearer disclosure of the number of stairways that had to be navigated. It can be an issue for older folks with luggage.

Hi Mike. Thank you for your review. I have edited the description and made it clear that there are lots of stairs in the tower. Thank you for your feedback.
This is a lovely and quirky apartment in the center of Barolo a small village is the Piedmont region. Barolo is all about wine and the location is superb for both exploring the town of Barolo and a 10 minute drive to La Morra. The views from the apartment are breathtaking. The apartment is all about the stairs. Down to the bedroom and up to the living room and up again to the beautiful patio. Don’t let the stairs deter you, worth every step and a good way to stay in shape while you are experiencing the local dining and wine tasting.
We loved our 4-day stay at the Torre Barolo. It was the perfect base for exploring the area, and the apartment itself had everything we needed. It was very clean and comfortable and the best part was the incredible balcony on the roof overlooking the town and the valley below. It made a lovely spot to enjoy a bottle of wine at the end of the day. All of our communication with the host was very easy, and she went out of her way to make suggestions to help us get he most of our visit. We would highly recommend this property!

Unique with Fantastic Panorama’s in a Picturesque Wine Village.....
It is hard to find the right words for this property - it is truly unique as it is built inside a tower in the central part of a lovely very old village. Everything is on different levels and if you have been doing your stair or elliptical machine at the gym you will be ready for living here! You might get tired of the stairs, but you will never get tired of looking out the living rom/kitchen level or from the top deck. The hills surrounding the village are really beautiful and lend a sense of calm and quiet to the property. And speaking of quiet...this is really a quiet rental... at least the off season week that we spent here. We we noticed that there is no car traffic and very little outside noise — it is QUIET !
Everything works in the rental, but be aware the shower is a bit on the small side — I am 6’2”, 210 and it was a bit of a squeeze. This is NOT uncommon in older towns (we have the same thing in our upstairs bedroom in an old city in France).
Barolo is a good point for jumping off in the region — you are less than 20 minutes from a lot of good wine, great places to eat and fun castles/churches to explore.... Parking in the town was easy (it was April) and the walk to the house short.
Megan and Robbie were very responsive at every step of the way — they are good people to do business with.

Borgogno's got nothing on this place!
Stayed at this property with my wife the second week of October 2018 and we were thoroughly impressed with the place and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is in the heart of the commune of Barolo and can walk to everything in the village. There is free parking maybe five hundred yards from the apartment so very convenient. The layout is tower style so you need to walk a couple of flights of steps from the courtyard to the front door, then accordingly to the bed room (which was a nice size along with an adjoining bathroom) and likewise to the living area and kitchen and finally to the rooftop patio.
The rooftop patio is worth the price of admission in itself. The views of Barolo and the surround area are breathtaking on a sunny day! Borgogno is a winery who's tasting room and it's own rooftop patio is literally next door and this apartments patio OVERLOOKS theirs! There were more than just a few stares of envy from patrons there as they shared that patio with 40+ and it just me and my wife on this one!
SerraLunga D'alba, Cannubi, La Morra and Monforte D'alba are short drives away for real Barolo wine lovers as is Barbaresco and day trips to Alba and Torino (Turin) are convenient as well. There are some really nice restaurants in the commune of Barolo including Barolo Rosso where we ate our last evening (try the stuffed onion and stuffed peppers if you go and the chocolate cake is to die for) and enoteca's where the wines of the area are featured. The apartment is in live in condition and has WiFi and the other "essentials" needed. If given the opportunity, we will stay here again in the future!

Joe, thank you very much for the descriptive review! Your comments about the Borgogno guest was very fun to read. I am so happy the weather cleared up for you and your wife and you got some roof top terrace time. No matter how many times I sit up there, it always takes my breath away. You were the last guest of the season and your comments, along with the other wonderful guests this year, makes renting out my home so worthwhile when I read about the enjoyment and the appreciation you have for my tower. Come back and visit us again. Megan

Sunsets to remember!
We very much enjoyed our week in Torre Barolo during the first week of October. The weather was very good, morning hikes to the surrounding hill towns and well located for afternoons to Treiso, Alba, Guarene, Saluzzo, Manta, Monforte d'Alba, Dogliani. Check in and out was very easy and parking in the town's parking lot was no challenge. Highly recommend for active travelers.

Excellent property!
The pictures and description of this accommodation are certainly accurate but cannot fully describe the wonderful ambiance of this unique, historical and authentic property. It is cute and charming, situated in the middle of town and was perfect as our home base while exploring the Barolo, and fully equipped to meet our needs while relaxing and living in the suite. The rooftop deck was a special treat .
We especially appreciated the great communication and quick responses from the owners (Megan) as she answered questions and provided information and great local recommendations to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks as well to Clara, a local contact that made our arrival and departure at the property easy.
We hope to someday return to this beautiful property and we highly recommend it to others.

About the host
Hosted by Megan Schuster
Hi. I having been coming to the Langhe since 1998. I used to live in London so it wasn't so crazy to buy a vacation property in my favorite place on earth. Then in 2009, I ended up marrying an Italian who wanted to live in the US. I love my tower and will never give it up, and so I rent it out so that it gets used by other people who can enjoy it as much as I do.
Why they chose this property
I have been fortunate to travel the world but every time I go to Barolo and sit on my roof terrace it takes my breath away. And in the 20 years I have owned my tower, there are so many events that have become staples of the seasons. Of course there are the food and wine festivals. The region is excellent in supplying information in English on the regional tourist website about all these events. The biggest is in October and November and centers around the harvest of the white Alba truffle. My property is my home and you get the entire 3 floors all to yourself. You are in the historic center of Barolo and all shops and restaurants are all accessible within a few minutes walk. There are lots of stairs in the property but in the 20 years most comments say they appreciate the stairs as it helps offset to all the food and wine consumed. Barolo is in the countryside but an easy 15 min to ALBA and an easy 20 min from the Autostrada therefore making it a very perfect location for touring both in the Langhe and Piemonte and Liguria.
What makes this property unique
An 19th century tower that is the 2nd tallest building in the town (after the Castle) which offers complete privacy yet is in the center of the most important wine town in the Langhe, and some could argue in Italy. From every window the views are breathtaking but it is the huge roof terrace that will take your breadth away and have you coming back year after year. To have this privacy and views and still be steps away from excellent restaurants, entotecas and wineries, TorreBarolo offers it all.
