About this property
Villa del Portico with swimming pool immer
In the Roman castles, 40 kilometers south-east of Rome, you can rent a charming country villa. The villa has a large common pool with two other villas of the same property, a children's playground and an extensive park with vines, olive trees and garden.
On clear days you can see the sea, Anzio and the Circeo which is only 30km from there. There are 8 rooms and beds which make the villa great for hosting groups of friends or family reunions.
For centuries wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables like tomatoes, aubergines and peppers have been cultivated in the property and still are today.
In the property, the oldest villa, with its thick walls, its ceilings and round windows, villa of the portholes, was built in the 17th century and was originally a nunnery monastery. The other house available for rent is Villa del Portico which was erected in 1880. With its refreshed porch overlooking the pool, Velletri and the sea, you will have the perfect opportunity to enjoy the relaxation of the villa.
The interiors were renewed during the time, while the outside was jealously safeguarded. Most of the furniture is original and have been owned by the family for generations. The place and the villa are also believed in the history books because of the battle between Garibaldi and the Speranzini in the middle of the nineteenth century.
The third villa is private, and the pool is shared with the owners of the villa. A few steps away, in the fourth house, a Romanian family lives in which property control and management is entrusted. They will be able to help you solve your problems. Extra services such as breakfast or lunch may be available.
Villa dell'Artemisio is located in the heart of the Castelli Romani Natural Park in an area surrounded by beautiful lakes and centuries-old forests. The area is also famous for its wine and its oil.
The surroundings are of great historical interest: near Castel Gandolfo is the summer residence of the Pope. In addition there are several medieval countries such as Nemi, Giulianello and Artena.
The famous Tivoli Gardens and Villa Adriana are also close enough. The car is recommended during your stay, and can be rented to the nearby Ciampino Airport or Rome.
