Fisherman's view: An idyllic retreat for a couple, facing a stunning lake

The studio is in the heart of an artist village, which is mostly car-free (parking is within 5 min walk). You have full view on the lake from your studio. You will find on the spot 3 restaurants, 2 art galleries, 1 general store, petanque area, kayak rental, horse riding, walks short and long, and a good start point for visiting the Cathar castles. The surrounding sea-water lakes are part of a regional nature park and your terrace overlooks the lake.
We provide you with a couple of bikes (2 new ones in late 2021) to discover this unique landscape. Also new in late 2021: High speed Wifi (Fiber link) and 43" smart TV.

Within a 30 minutes drive, sandy beaches on the Mediterranean, great hikes, bird watching, wine estates, or the UNESCO World Heritage city of Carcassonne.

So bad we left early

We were left with a very poor impression of this accommodation. We booked for 7 nights and left after 5. The tiny kitchen and adjacent toilet are cramped and dark. We found cobwebs and thick dust in the kitchen, soiled glasses and cutlery which we had to wash prior to use. The towels were poor and one bath towel was stained by bleach. The bedroom floor was soiled. And the uncomfortable mattress and pillows made for terrible nights. Good aspects were the view from the bedroom and that the host Phillipe permitted us to use his bicycles to explore the area. Phillipe didn’t take any action to try to put things right. We requested check out 2 days early and a pro data refund. Phillipe preferred to keep our money. We have raised a complaint with VRBO concerning the shortfall in cleanliness. Avoid this listing and look elsewhere.

This review is different from our previous exchanges with guest. The guest complained directly about a bleached towel and missing pillows, which we rectified the same day. Obviously, if we had been told about issues with the cutlery, we would have acted the same day too. Then the guest complained about sleeping poorly and blamed the mattress. My wife and I slept perfectly well recently on this mattress, as experienced too by the other guests, so it can only be a matter of personal preferences. Giving this reason for leaving early can not lead to a refund, since this booking prevented me to accept other guests. It is always sad to have an unhappy customer, but we are always heager to correct reasonable issues as soon as we are aware.

Séjour agréable, reposant dans un beau village, au calme et avec une belle vue du balcon sur l'étang.Observation des oiseaux notamment les cigognes qui passaient matin et soir. Appartement bien situé pour visiter la région.

De grands espaces, une nature préservée , le calme…

Charme d'une petite maisonnette nichée au cœur du village ancien de Bages, quelques marches et la vue emplit tout l'espace, panoramique, magnifique, se renouvelant tout au long de la journée ! Le logement est bien équipé, confortable, propre. Tout l'équipement de base est fourni, linge complet, savon, produits d'épicerie essentiels … Je tiens à mettre en avant la cordialité, la gentillesse de Nathalie qui m'a accueilli , elle a tenu à venir me chercher sur Narbonne alors que j'arrivais par transport en commun et idem pour mon départ ! J'ai beaucoup apprécié son adorable attention de placer un jolie bouquet de fleurs de jardin dans la pièce à vivre. Tout a été parfait !

Sehr schön

Die Wohnung, welche eigentlich wie ein kleines Haus ist, war für uns einfach perfekt. Es war alles vorhanden, sogar eine Waschmaschine und zwei gute Mountainbikes und Tennisschläger, die Küche ist auch recht gut ausgestattet, welche wir allerdings kaum benutzt haben. Es ist sehr ruhig und vom Balkon hat mein einen atemberaubenden Ausblick auf Meer, sogar vom Bett aus. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Wohnung hat ihren besonderen Charme. Allerdings für etwas ältere Menschen bzw. Welche die Probleme mit Treppensteigen haben, weniger geeignet, da man ca. 10 Stufen vom Eingang zum Wohnraum steigen muss.

Le Studio - One of our favourite places to relax!

The studio is a wonderful little hideaway in the narrow streets of Bages, but near the centre of this unspoilt and friendly French fishing village. The accommodation is compact and well furnished, and the small wooden balcony offers a view of the pétanque ground with sparkling waters of the Etang de Bages. We have stayed at the Studio twice, and are planning another visit very soon. There are two bikes in the house and lots of trails and tracks for biking or walking nearby if exercise is your thing ... or just spend a relaxing time at the cafe on the village square. The studio is also an excellent base for exploring the historic towns or beaches of Languedoc-Roussillon.
