About this property

Newly renovated stone house in olive grove with stunning sea view

Newly renovated old stone house situated in an olive grove with a spectacular view of the Agean Sea.
The house is situated in the idyllic and sought after village of Ano Aprovato on a 7000m² land with olive and fruit trees.
The 150m² house is restored to its original charm has 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), a study and a large high ceiling living room. The fully equipped modern kitchen has a dining area and an open fireplace.
The terrace spans the entire length of the house and has a fully equipped rustic barbecue built in local stone.
There is a plethora of lovely beaches nearby. The closest is only 10 min away by car. The property is perfect for combining the rural feel of and old stone house with a relaxing break, away from it all, yet close enough to Batsi restaurants and night-life.
Andros is also a lovely holiday destination in the April/May and in the early Autumn September/October

idyllic hide away
The house is a charming mixture of an old, entirely renovated stonehouse and a very modern and tasteful interior decoration. This is captured quite well on the photos which do not overpromise. The location of the house is unique lying in between very old olive and fruit trees with a fabulous view - very idyllic and quiet, far away from any major road or village. The house is well equipped with a reliable and good internet connection, the TV has only Greek channels which should be explained in the description. The administrative part of renting the house was quick and reliable. The island of Andros is worth a longer visit (it was our 2nd visit) as it has very diverse landscapes. We especially enjoyed the long hikes using the old cobblestone paths between the villages (we recommend the new hiking guide of Olga Karayiannis, Hiking in Andros, 2014, which you can purchase online). We recommend the house and the island. Karin and Markus, Geneva

Wonderful!
It was a fantastic stay at Julie´s house. We, Laura, our two sons (1 and 7 years old) and I, enjoyed it very much. The island is wild, not very touristic. And the house is great - from day 1 on we got the feeling coming home. We will come back - for sure. Thanks very much, Julie, for your outstanding effort.

Wonderful Vacation House
This was a wonderful vacation rental. My husband and I and our two boys age 5 & 2, as well as my husband's parents, had a great summer vacation on Andros. The house is very clean, extremely well constructed, and offers beautiful views of the Aegean. Each morning we would have breakfast on the outdoor terrace. Andros is a very windy island, and it was during our stay, but the outdoor eating area sheltered us from the wind. If you are looking for a vacation rental away from the noise, this is it. You will definitely need a car rental, but that's the best way to get around the island. The house is a short drive (south) of Batsi, so you are not too far from town. Drive carefully, Andros has narrow roads that often boarder cliffs. This house is a good location if you want to visit beaches throughout the island, as we did. My father-in-law is from Andros, and when he returns every other summer, he would usually stay in Chora; we're glad that we convinced him to try a new side of the island, and he enjoyed it immensely. Andros has many amazingly beautiful beaches that were not overly crowded during our stay. Part of the vacation rental process is interacting with the owner. We reached out to about 8-10 different vacation rental owners, and heard back from half of them. The owner of this property is extremely attentive; she promptly replied to our questions regarding the cost, time of stay, rental agreement, confirmation of receipt of wires, and directions when I mentioned my concern about arriving to the island late by ferry and driving to the house in the dark.

Wonderful stay!
We had a fantastic time in Andros! The house was just like it looks on the pictures, very well maintained, very clean and with a breathtaking view on the Aegean sea. We particularly liked the terrace where we spent most of our time (if not swimming in the wonderful sea). The kitchen was also very well equipped and a good place to cook. Especially the self-made olive-oil Julie left for us was excellent, thank you! The house is situated in an olive grove high up on the hill. This gives you a wonderful view but note that you will have to make a 10-15 min drive for food or beaches. If you don't mind this then you are in a wonderfully remote site. We enjoyed that very much. The beaches are beautiful (with yellow sand) and if you like swimming, Andros is definitely your place. Within a 20-minutes-drive (in the direction of Gavrio) there are 10 lovely beaches you can go to. One of the most famous tavernas of the island where you get good original Greek food is just a two minutes drive from the house (and also have a stunning view). Our special thanks go to Julie for always answering our mails very quickly and helpfully. She helped us organizing our stay and provided us with useful information on car rental, beaches etc. (there is also a very helpful booklet in the house with information about everything, too). Everything went really smoothly. We would definitely recommend this house and Andros! Sophie & Philip (Vienna, Austria)

the best house on Andros!
Everything has been just fantastic and the owner who is a very kind lady made sure our stay went perfect from the first minute to the last. I would without any doubt recommend this rental. Location of the house provides a spectacular view on the sea and the house is very cosy.
