About this property
Country House between Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick, Superb Views, Sleeps 8-10
Country House very conveniently situated between Stratford upon Avon and Warwick and within easy reach of the Cotswolds.
This very private residence is set in mature, manicured grounds at the top of Black Hill which gives it a superb commanding view over Stratford upon Avon town and across towards Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden, Cheltenham Spa and the Cotswolds. In the more immediate vicinity are the very pretty villages of Snitterfield, which is a little over 1 mile away from the house and Hampton Lucy, which is about the same distance in the opposite direction. In Snitterfield you will find a well stocked village shop and pub and in Hampton Lucy you will find another pub and the Charlecote Park National Trust Property. Both pubs have excellent menus as well as a selection of real ales and Charlecote Park gives a great opportunity for river side walks in the company of the hundreds of resident Deer. Naturally, the amenities and attractions of Warwick and Stratford speak for themselves and both towns are virtually on the doorstep of this property being around four miles away in either direction.
The house itself is a tastefully decorated and well proportioned 1930's building with three double ensuite bedrooms, one double bedroom with a family bathroom. On the ground floor, the double opening front doors lead into a reception hall with crystal chandeliers. To the left, a large sitting room with log burner and inglenook fireplace can comfortably accommodate 10 people as can the large dining kitchen with gas Aga. Although this house has a fairly sophisticated feel to it the log burner and Aga make for some very cosy nights in during the winter. Also on the ground floor is a water closet, washing machine and TV room for the benefit of those who may either want a little more peace themselves or to give those in the rest of the house the benefit of that peace.
The house is advertised as having five double bedrooms, although only the four double bedrooms on the first floor will be made available for the price advertised. The fifth bedroom is in a separate single storey lodge house, located barely 20 metres away from the main house. The lodge is equipped with its own kitchen, sitting room, double bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Although the lodge makes for a very pleasant retreat in its own right, as it is all on one floor, with no steps or stairs it does lend itself very well to people who may be experiencing mobility issues. The lodge is available for and additional payment of just £200 per weekend. A camp bed and travel cot are also available by request. Should you have any other requirements, just ask and I will endeavor to accommodate you..
Please note that as spring and summer guests do not require the log burner, and as many guests are not familiar with fire lighting, logs and kindling are not provided. There is a garden centre over the road that sells firewood, if you have not collected any on your way to the property.
