About 45 km away is Genoa, a thousand-year-old city, with one of the largest historical centers in Europe, with historic buildings and cathedrals, the Aquarium and the Galata Museo del Mare.
A short distance from Lavagna you can visit Portofino and its bay, the famous Cinque Terre (UNESCO World Heritage Site; easily accessible by train or boat departing from Lavagna) as well as San Fruttuoso and Portovenere
