Bright open plan barn conversion sleeps 8 - shared pool & tennis, dogs welcome
At 130m2 La Lapinière is our most spacious and airy cottage / gite. With all home comforts, the downstairs is open plan comprising fitted kitchen, dining area, and comfy sofas looking out over the garden and countryside beyond. Upstairs with 2 ensuite bedrooms, one with king and the other a double bed, a family bathroom and a kids room with bunks it’s equally ideal for one or two families wishing to share, or for couples. The maximum occupancy is 4 adults and 4 children, or 8 in total.
La Lapiniere is set in the peaceful, idyllic grounds of La Bourdonnerie, a 300 year old Farm on the West coast of the Normandy peninsular, which has over the years been converted with lots of care and attention to detail into cosy holiday homes.
The farm consists of the main stone farmhouse and 4 self-catering holiday homes. The cottages have been converted from the natural stone barns and cider press that formed the original farms buildings, and each has its own unique character and style.
Your dogs will enjoy the enclosed terrace, and also the 3 hectares of gardens and playing fields. On site you will find a communal heated outdoor swimming pool (open June - September), lawn tennis court (open June - September weather permitting), table tennis table, swings and trampoline...along with goats, cats, ducks and chickens to entertain the children and adults alike.
Ideally situated in a village served by its own shop within 5 minutes walk, 5 minutes drive from all shops and conveniences in nearby La Haye du Puits and Lessay and 10 minutes drive from white sandy beaches.
10 mins to local beaches, 40 minutes from Utah Beach and second world war memorials, and 45 minutes from Cherbourg and Citi de la Mer.
Based on site we're here to help if you need us... we speak French, English and German and look forward to welcome you on the farm..

About the host
Hosted by David Smith
We are Jenefer & Dave Smith, and as the owners of La Bourdonnerie we’re here to make your stay in Normandy extra special. After living in London for a long time, in 2010 we decided to move to Normandy and after months of searching finally found the perfect location to launch a business. We’re both fans of fresh air, peace & quiet and open spaces, which meant when we found La Bourdonnerie, we knew immediately this was ‘the one’. We live here all year round in the main ‘farmhouse’, and so we’re always available should you need our help or advice.
In addition to our native english, we both speak excellent french and Dave also speaks german. We’re on hand for any help or in the event of any emergencies, be that sorting flat car tyres to trips to the vets.
In the few years we’ve been here we’ve done a lot of the tourist attractions, eaten in most of the restaurants and walked the majority of the beaches, so please do ask for tips and advice if you feel the need. We’re here to help, and look forward to meeting you at La Bourdonnerie.
What makes this property unique
Near all of the tourist attractions of the region, but nestled in a quiet village 10 minutes from the nearest beaches, La Bourdonnerie offers total peace and quiet. We're regularly told by guests that they've never slept so well: the silence at night time is unbelievable, and that, combined with comfy beds, and the renowned effect of the Atlantic sea air, means you will leave fully rested, restored and totally relaxed.
