A large group of friends/pilots stayed at the property while enjoying the Goodwood revival event. Great communication with Helen our host made the whole accommodation portion of our trip run seamlessly. Thank you again.
A very enjoyable stay in a quirky, interesting property
We booked Upper House for a weekend to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our extended family of 8 adults and 4 children. It was an ideal choice, with plenty of space for everyone, a large, attractive and comfortable lounge and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen. The house was warm but it was also easy to light a fire in the lounge for extra atmosphere. The whole house is quirky and interesting and the children loved playing hide and seek in the nooks and crannies. The large garden provides plenty of space for playing ball games and there is also a trampoline. We would thoroughly recommend renting this property for a special occasion.
The property manager was easy to communicate with and well organised. The house was clean and the layout for 12 people worked well. We spent most of our time in the kitchen catching up over good food - would recommend this property if you're looking for a weekend away.

Property needing urgent assessment
Cold ,no heating, lots of issues with unfinished building work, lights not working , dangerous boiler outside not covered, electrics were awful a real fire hazard, can’t see how it can be hired out in such a dangerous state , needs urgent assessment
We loved this house which is full of character and charm. Gardens are lovely and the house is well equipped and has everything you need. Some of our elderly relatives were caught out by the different levels in the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom but otherwise it suited us very well.
Everything was very clean and the bed we slept in was very comfortable.
We had a family of 11 from ages 5 - 65 staying for a weekend. Loads of space out back, the kids had a great time on the trampoline and hammock chair and when the heat got too much outdoors the board games and books were great. Host gave some helpful hints and tips and a great restaurant recommendation too for Sunday lunch. Spent almost all the weekend in the house - there were a couple of tiny niggles but Helen was really helpful and got us an extra fan sent over which was helpful, especially in the heat we had this weekend!
Our first stay with a vrbo, hopefully this was a good start! Thanks!!
We celebrated my mum's 60th here - we had a fabulous stay - the house is extremely well equipped particularly the kitchen. The pictures of the house don't do it justice - the house is quirky in a wonderful way an din beautiful grounds.
Helen was so helpful before and during our stay! Would definitely return again. Many thanks again for everything!! 5 stars!!
We were a group of 12 runners who spent the August bank holiday weekend at the property. There was a lot of space in the property and it also had lots of character.
We spent most of our time in the kitchen as it was huge. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, although we thought that there could have been more serving utensils (big spoons and ladles) as we often were left to improvise. There was an array of spices, salt and pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning stuff which sometimes are lacking in holiday lets. Some of the roasting trays were a little old/rusty, but we just layered the usable ones with foil.
Bedrooms were comfortable and linen was of good quality, although a few of our party thought it would have been better if the linen price was included within the overall rent rather than me as the lead organiser having to collect multiple installments of money from people.
The garden was beautiful - we didnt use the BBQ area but we noted it was there, and there was ample seating and comfy chairs. There was also a trampoline in the garden.
The lounge was also full of comfy sofas and lots of board games and jenga.
Overall, it was a great weekend and we all felt relaxed in the property. It had lots of character and definitely would suit 12 max. We didnt use the mezzanine bedroom in the end as it had no curtains and the sun still rises pretty early!
Easy access to the SDW/Petersfield was key for us, and it was very quiet and relaxing.

Amazing house in a stunning setting!
We had a girls weekend here - the large hall was perfect for socialising and very open so everyone felt included. A lot of time was spent in the also large/open plan kitchen, which seats 12 but we did manage to squeeze in couple extra and there are seats at the breakfast bar. The house has lots of quirky and interesting details and we all had fun exploring and choosing our rooms upon arrival. Some of the ladies enjoyed a YouTube yoga session in the morning as there was plenty of space in the main living area, others enjoyed a walk or run in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Overall a brilliant weekend - especially fond of the underfloor heating in the kitchen!!! Outdoor area and garden great too very peaceful. Would love to stay another time and make use of the several fire places. Would definitely stay again.
