SELF-CATERING STUDIO FLAT - GOOD WIFI, Central London, 15 mins by tube to West End.
This is a bright and cheerful studio flat, up one flight of stairs overlooking a nice private garden. It is situated in a lovely Victorian building and is very clean with a modern tiny kitchen in a completely separate room and a separate bathroom. Ideal for 2 or 3 people who want to visit London and have a warm, cosy, quiet, safe place to stay.
THE ABOVE PHOTOS
These were taken by a professional photographer with a wide angle lens. Accordingly, the rooms do appear larger than they really look in real life! Bear in mind, the entire apartment is a mere 28sq. meters, or 300sq. feet.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
There is a high quality 4'6" (1m 37cm) double bed (for 2) in the main room and a single sofa-bed (for 1) in the conservatory area. The sofa-bed is brand new and has a sprung mattress.
CHILDREN
We regret we do nat take children under the age of 8 due to the delicate nature of the furnishings and fabrics.
MOBILE/CELLPHONE RECEPTION
Mobile/cellphone signal reception is generally good. But note, that if getting a British mobile phone on arrival, avoid Virgin mobile phones, as the apartment gets no signal from this network provider. There is no problem from other major UK networks, such as EE, O2, Vodafone, all of which co-operate with all major US and other national network suppliers to provide a good mobile/cellphone service in the UK.
TRANSPORT FACILITIES
Only three minutes around the corner to Willesden Green tube station, on the famous Jubilee line, zone 2. Trains run every 2 minutes and take just 15 min´s to the West End in Central London (Bond St).
RESTAURANTS & CAFES
The apartment is just off the high street, where there is a Sainsbury supermarket, lovely pub/restaurant, Costa coffee bar, Italian and Indian restaurants and more restaurants and cafes nearby. There is of course a typical English fish and chip shop as well, very nearby. Just around the corner there is also a launderette and a handy 24 hour supermarket open 7 days a week.
BANKS/SHOPS/PARKS
There is a Lloyds Bank nearby and plenty of shops of all kinds in the high street and also two chemists. Two lovely parks are nearby, one just a short walk away.
FACILITIES
For your arrival I provide fresh towels, fresh bed linen, duvets, sheets, covers and pillows. All bills are included and there is high-speed Wi-Fi access and a flat screen TV. Street parking is available at £4 per day. Let me know before you arrive if you need this, so I can arrange it for you.
THE KITCHEN
This is a separate room with a door and is not in the bedroom, like so many other flats! Apart from the usual things like a cooker, a tall fridge and microwave oven, there is a kettle, a cafetiere, an iron and a nice fat cat, no I was joking! There´s no cat.
CLEANING CHARGE
The cleaning and laundry charge is £75 if only the double bed is to be used. If the sofa-bed will be used as well, there is an additional laundry charge of £20, making a total of £60. When you book, you will be charged the basic £75. If the sofa-bed is to be used, please bring with you the extra £20 in cash to hand to us on your arrival.
CHECK-IN; CHECK-OUT
Check-in is after 3pm.
Check-out is before 10am.
These times can vary by prior arrangement.
A late check-in after 10pm is not encouraged due to possible disturbance that noise late at night can cause to neighbours.
However, it is possible to arrive at any time as access to the keys and the house is by a blue key box and code, by the side of the front door. The access code will be sent to you shortly before your arrival.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
It's very trendy, lots of good restaurants, coffee bars, and shops - mostly for food purchases. The streets are tree-lined and the area is remarkely quiet for an urban setting. Weekends around here are pleasant, sleepy affairs, good for families and for lovers.
GETTING AROUND
The easiest way to get around in London is by the famous "tube". This is the underground commuting train system in London. It is fast, cheap and is very close to the property, being a mere 3 minutes walk away. This station is called Willesden Green and is on the Jubilee line on the tube. From here, the trains run every 2 minutes (yes, they really are that frequent) and can get you to Bond Street in 15 minutes, handy for some of London's greatest department stores - including Marks & Spencer's and Selfridges.
After midnight, all night, the frequency of trains is reduced to one every 15 minutes.
HOUSE RULES
There aren't any, well pets aren't allowed, sorry. Also the apartment is strictly non-smoking.
A few friends over for a drink is OK, but this is a quiet place and please remind them about the no-smoking rule.
