Great stay at Summer Lane

Our family had a great stay at Summer Lane for Spring Break. The house was clean and well appointed. The kids loved having the downstairs area for themselves. The hot tub was great on the cool evenings and the fire pit area was used for s’mores. We saw some bass from the dock but only managed to catch one. Highly recommend this property.

A beautiful getaway

This property is outstanding. The views of the lake are amazing and it’s just steps away from the water. There’s ample outdoor and indoor space with comfortable furnishings and the kitchen is large and well provisioned. On top of all that the hosts are lovely—they reached out with recommendations right when we booked and were quick to answer all of our questions. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful clean house that was well stocked. There was a gentle slope in the yard that made it easy to get to the dock even for older family members. No wake cove with easy access to the main channels of the lake. Lots of extras with kayaks, stand up paddleboards, air hockey and more. Plenty of parking and plenty of space for everyone. Nancy and Charles were excellent hosts and went above and beyond for our family. Highly recommend and will be renting again.

Fabulous Vacation at Summer Lane

Lovely house

The house was just right for us. Its a very short walk to the dock. We weren't able to use the kayaks - it was a little too chilly - but they were available. We did use the firepit and enjoyed that quite a bit. Everything was as described.

We had a celebration weekend of 50th birthdays with lifelong friends from September 7 - 10, 2018. The owners, Nancy and Charles, were so informative, helpful, kind and certainly put a lot of time and effort into this lovely home! They think of everything! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this home to anyone who will be visiting Smith Mountain Lake!

Lovely house with great amenities!

Our family just returned from a weeklong trip at Summer Lane and all agreed the home was wonderful! We enjoyed the swing by the dock, canoes, paddleboard, and hot tub, among other things. We had one rainy day, but filled it with cards, foosball, and air hockey. The kitchen is very well stocked and there's even a room off the kitchen with another fridge, coffee maker and cabinets. Would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful Weekend Spent in a Beautiful Home

Spent Thanksgiving weekend here celebrating a birthday! This home is very cozy, super spacious, sits at a great location and has gorgeous lake views! The kitchen is extremely big and has all the supplies you need - we cooked a huge family breakfast and dinner, and served it at the dining room table which is surrounded by many windows and natural lighting, overlooking the lake. We are already planning to be back sometime in the summer so we can use the beautiful deck. Thank you, Nancy, for letting us stay in your lovely home!

Wonderful 99th birthday for my Mother!

This was definitely one of our most favorite homes! The owners were incredible and took care to provide for the comfort of their guests. We cooked almost every meal and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. There was plenty of room for children and grandchildren who came to celebrate Mother’s 99th birthday. A gentle walk to the boat allowed her to take many boat rides and lots of outdoor space to enjoy the weather and beautiful view of the lake. We will definitely be back!

Quiet Fall Retreat With Plenty of Activities

This home offered a perfect setting to enjoy the quiet fall over the Thanksgiving week. The home was spacious for our multi-family gathering. The kitchen beautiful and roomy. The eating space was plentiful for meals and games. Football and hockey on the big screen. Kayaking on the lake on a sunny fall afternoon was unforgettable. A fire pit made for evening chatting and smores. The whole package is unmatchable. Enjoy!

Wonderful vacation

We had a wonderful time. The house was well appointed and spacious. We had three generations celebrating Thanksgiving and this was perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone, a large kitchen for cooking, and game area downstairs for the kids. We also spent a lot of time outside enjoying the lake view. We enjoyed fishing at the dock, went out in the kayaks, roasted marshmallows at the fire pit, and relaxed on the oversized deck (with hot tub!). Nancy was great to work with; I was amazed at the speed of her responses and she always seemed happy to talk with me about our stay. We hope to return soon!

Highly recommend!!

We had such a wonderful vacation at Smith Mountain Lake. This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 10. Everyone had a bed/room, the kitchen, dining and living areas were a great size. The kitchen was well stocked for us to be able to cook dinner each night. And the pictures just don't do the outdoor space justice! The deck, hot tub, firepit and dock were incredible. We took the kayaks out, ate smores, played in the yard, enjoyed the cool fall mornings in the hot tub. Nancy was sweet and responsive the one time we needed her. We already want to come back!

Fabulous House

We had an amazing time at Summer Lane! The house is so comfortable and well appointed, the lake is absolutely beautiful and the house has kayaks, life jackets and a lily pad to enjoy on the water. We rented a pontoon boat from Pete at SML Premiere Boats and it was delivered to us as we were checking in. The lake seems intimidatingly large at first but we quickly found our favorite spots like Los Amigos restaurant at Crazy Horse Marina and Mitchell’s Marina for great lunch and ice cream. We’ve already booked for next year’s family gathering with my VA based family! Thank you Nancy and Charles for your amazing hospitality!
