A.M.A: 65968 Registry No for Short-Term Residential Rental: 1325609 The residence is a traditional 2 floor house stone-build at 1870's at the center of village Pompia, though in a way that full privacy is kept. The house was refurbished at 1990's and was used by the ex-fire captain of Cretan island until recently. The old style of the residence has been preserved with the wooden doors and windows, the stoned frameworks and the wall build-in bird nests. The traditional grape-press has been turned into a WC and all walls are decorated with all the old equipment used in everyday life of early last century. 6 people can be hosted, 4 on the upper floor in a double bed and two singles, all together at the same spacey room. Consider that the steeply wooden ladder leading to the upper floor, is not suitable for young children. 2 more people can be hosted at a double bed placed in the spacey kitchen of the house. At the ground floor there is the kitchen, the WC and a large living room with a fire-place. The house is fully equipped, but not luxury! Air condition in every room is included. A big yard on the ground floor and a terrace on the upper floor with a view to Psiloritis mountain, is suitable for relaxed summer moments and cool nights. The village of Pompia is central-placed in an area where Faistos ancient ruins, Matala beach, Komos beach, Kalamaki beach, Kokkinos Pyrgos beach and Kaloi-Limenes beach are accessible within a distance of 15km. For the more adventurous guests, Martsalo, Vathi and Agiofarrago beach is an excellent choice of getting in touch with the natural wild beauty of southern Crete.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Rallou
Hello guests, My name is Rallou and I am the spouse of an ex Fire Catpain of Crete island. This is the traditional residence build in 1870's that he grew up and spent his childhood. We live at Heraklion city and cannot stay there anymore, but the kind best man of my son, Gregoris and his wife will welcome you and offer you the best of help. I hope you enjoy your time there as we used to!
Why they chose this property
Staying in this house gives you a sence of how locals were living during the past century. The private yard is a quiet place for day and night time rest. The balcony and teracce is a place for gazing at the fertile valley of Messara and next at the mountain of Psiloritis, the highest point in Crete.
