Best place to experience Nashville. Close enough to tourist areas but far enough away to enjoy Nashville’s east side.
Girls Weekend Get Away
The house worked perfectly for us three girls to have our own space or gather together in the kitchen or living room for fun and laughter together. We had fun going to the Broadway area, the Gulch, and places around East Nashville. Close to lots of fun and comfy. The house is nicely decorated and we did great with the amount of dishes supplied. Everything worked in the house and we felt safe in the neighborhood.
Vintage home with huge, well designed & upgraded kitchen. Location excellent with less than 10 minute drive to all of the downtown area. Very quiet street and hosts were very accommodating concerning any minor requests. Upstairs bedroom and bath was very cozy and private from rest of house, Good sized yard with inviting side terrace and back deck if you were visiting during summer.
Communication with the owner was phenomenal! She was quick to respond and very accommodating! The house was big enough for 5 of us staying and a quick and cheap ride in Uber to downtown Nashville. The neighborhood was quiet and house located in a trendy part of East Nashville. I would recommend this property!
The house was very cute. Very comfortable for 4 people. Nice kitchen. The owner let us check out an hour later. The neighborhood was quiet. Easy checkout process.
Loud train and Lack of cleanliness
I really wanted to enjoy this experience as it was my first time renting through Home Away. The photos do not accurately represent the property. The property is in great need of upkeep and TLC. The overall cleanliness was also of concern for our family. The shower had used shaving razors in the shower caddy and what looked to be a dirty tub. There was many ants which infested into our belongings which we had to throw away. The living room TV had a DVD player and plenty of movies to choose from yet the DVD player was not connected to the TV! Upon arrival, we found the key lockbox open. The homeowner was not very good at communicating through the process. At booking, I asked how we could arrange to arrive early to the home. I never received a reply. On arrival to the city I had to reach out to get the details on access and was advised that any arrival before the check-in time would cost added money. I wish this was communicated earlier, as requested. I would have arranged other plans for the day. Also - there are several loud train horns that sound every night which woke several in our family every day of our visit. If you rent here I would suggest earplugs if this may bother you. Overall I was very disappointed in my first experience with Home Away.
Gosh, John, I really feel like this is an unfair review. I reached out to you the day before your arrival asking what time you'd arrive and sending you instructions on how to get into the house. You indicated you'd be there at 11:30 (though the VRBO listing states that check-in is at 4 pm) and I told you our policy regarding an early check-in. Without our permission, you entered well prior to the 4 pm check-in time and we said nothing, charged you nothing. Our cleaning folks were a little surprised when they tried to get back in and you were already there :(
Further, on the day of your arrival, I asked how the house was and if you were enjoying your stay, to which I received no response.
Our other reviews certainly bear out that I'm a communicator, I hope, and I do take guests' thoughts quite seriously. I find this review extremely unfair because you failed to mention any of this to me until 2 weeks post-stay, despite me caring and reaching out to you and asking how things were with the property.
