We had a great stay. This property was clean and comfortable. The location was very good, the neighborhood is very walkable with lots of restaurants within just a few blocks.
The carriage house was perfect for a long weekend, and we enjoyed our stay in the historic Cherokee Park neighborhood. It's within easy walking distance of a large number of bars and restaurants, as well as the park and its many beautiful trails. We'd definitely stay there again!
We loved our long weekend in Louisville and enjoyed staying here! It's a great home base while exploring the city and surrounding area. It was super easy to come and go as we pleased as well as to check in and out. Thank you so much!

Perfect weekend retreat
Great location and comfortable cozy apartment! I’d completely recommend for a quick getaway weekend. We toured a couple bourbon distilleries and came back to our fun neighborhood. Good for walking and restaurant opportunities, plus did a morning hike in the beautiful neighborhood park.

Thank you for your kind review and for staying with us, Nancy. We look forward to hosting you on future Louisville visits.
My wife and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend, the price was extremely reasonable, the space was clean and the location was awesome. I lived in Louisville from 2003-2009 and had always wanted to live in the Cherokee triangle area but never had the right opportunity. We loved the experience.
I had a wonderful time in the carriage house and exploring the surrounding neighborhood. It was clean, easy, and had no problems! I would definitely come back!
Kristin was a wonderful hostess! I really enjoyed staying at Cherokee Triangle. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and easy to access. This gem is in such a great location. There are fantastic restaurants within walking distance from Cherokee Triangle. It was great to have a homebase as I visited different sites around Louisville. I would definitely stay here again!
Great quiet neighborhood! Walking distance to coffee, shops, bars and food….or just a walk to look at the beautiful big homes. Kristin has everything you need in the apartment style home even chocolates on the pillow was a nice touch.
Really nice place and the listing is not wrong. You can literally not drive anywhere if you do not want to. Multiple places within easy walking distance that we really enjoyed.

Very centrally located to Bardstown Road. Walkable to shops, restaurants, bars. Beautiful neighborhood and fantastic carriage house. Very safe, quiet, and secure. Very clean, tastefully decorated. The photos in listing are completely accurate. Owners were easy to reach and very accommodating.

Thank you for staying with us, Rich, and for your kind review. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
The property was very clean which is very important to me. Everything I needed was there, as specified in the listing. Kristin is a wonderful hostess - I knew she was around if needed, but she was totally unobtrusive. The furnishings are attractive and comfortable, and the location was perfect for my needs. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat if it was available.
We came to Louisville to visit my son and I must say we were more than pleased with this little apartment! The location was perfect! We could actually walk to my son’s apt on Highland street. The location is fabulous! You have tree lined streets with stately homes as well as a beautiful park just a short walk away. Go the other direction and you find fabulous restaurants. And best of all(especially after our 16+ hr drive from Texas) the bed was SO comfy!! I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful location; Fantastic host
This carriage house has the best location on a tree-lined street in the Cherokee Triangle. You can walk to great restaurants and cafes, as well as shops and Carmichael's, an excellent independently owned book store. And, of course, you have Cherokee Park, with its public golf course, which is practically at your doorstep. The owner, who is gracious and responsive, has thought of every need of her guests. When we arrived in the evening, we found a welcome basket loaded with fresh fruit and breakfast products -- how thoughtful! Because we had a longer stay, she reached out to us to offer to launder our linens and towels for us. The apartment is sunny and clean --and most important: the chic and convenient location is wonderful for those who love to walk!

Thank you so much, Dana. So happy you enjoyed our carriage house
The property is perfect in every way. From the ease in communications to excellent instructions on locating and accessing the apartment, it was a great experience. I loved the restaurant listing provided in the apartment and found the unit to be extremely well decorated and as comfortable and complete as you could ever wish for. The bed was especially comfortable with both a fan and air conditioner in the bedroom.
The main room with the living room and kitchen are spacious and have every convenience, dish, cups, pans, etc that you could possibly use. I couldn't tell you the size of the TV but it was large and easy to use.
Overall, this was one of the best experiences ever staying in a VRBO unit or a hotel. 5 plus stars for sure!

Had everything you need, but hot
The apartment has everything you would need. We arrived late and were happy to find bottled water, coffee and creamer awaiting us in the morning. The bed was comfortable. There were nice towels, and extra towels and linens if needed.
It is in a trendy neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and parks.
The weekend was hot (90F) and there is only one window AC unit. After running it all night set at 62F the apartment never got below 75F. They request that you turn the window unit off when you leave. However, the apartment was 80+F when we would return.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. I would have very much appreciated your letting me know about the temperature during your stay, as opposed to only writing it in the review, as I could have made things more comfortable while you were here. The apartment has central air, in addition to a bedroom window unit. We definitely could have adjusted the central air temperature for you as this was the first warm weekend of the season. I was available for any requests you had during the weekend, and this is the first I've heard about the temperature.
We were in town for a concert and this was the perfect little place to call home for the weekend. Very clean, easy check-in, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Also, I fell in love with the neighborhood. Such a great spot!
Host was super accommodating - location was walkable to restaurants and shops and a quick ride to downtown or old Louisville/university of Louisville. Beautifully maintained and clean. Awesome trip!
This was the perfect spot for my husband and I for our anniversary weekend in Kentucky. The home has everything you need and is very spacious. Super comfy bed, great water pressure in the shower and the best coffee!

About the host
Hosted by Kristin Townsend
I am a wife, mom to two children and an Interior Decorator. I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and currently live here. I have also lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and New York City. My family and I have lived in Louisville, Kentucky in the historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood for 20 years in a home built in 1896. We love being close to Cherokee park and all of the activity on Bardstown Road.
My family and I like to travel year round, but especially in the summer when our children are out of school.
Why they chose this property
This property is located in the historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood, in a carriage house that was built in 1990. We purchased the house and carriage house because of the walkability of the neighborhood. After having lived in New York City for five years, we wanted to be able to walk to all of the essentials, and live near green space. We found all of that in this location. Love living in the Cherokee Triangle!
What makes this property unique
The beautiful tree-lined streets and historic character of the neighborhood is what drew us to this spot. You may not want to go home!
