O Monte is a converted farmhouse set in an impressive private estate with unbroken views of the Alvor river estuary and the Monchique hills in the background.

The villa has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can sleep up to 6 people. It has a well equipped kitchen and an airy double reception/dining room that opens up to a terrace with typical Portuguese paving and beautiful views of the river estuary - perfect for sunset drinks and open air dining.

In the garden at the front of the villa lies a secluded and gated swimming pool, surrounded by a leafy terrace and complete with sun beds and a BBQ area - ideal for long and relaxed lunches by the pool.

The property is well suited to small families or a group of friends to share. There is wireless internet access throughout. The house is within easy reach of the lively fishing village of Alvor, beautiful beaches and numerous golf courses and tennis clubs.

Out & About: Ladeira da Nora is only 2 km from the busy fishing village of Alvor with its fun restaurants and bars. Praia da Rocha, the well known resort with beaches, hotels, casino and bars/restaurants is only 6 km away. The historic town of Lagos is 15 minutes drive and offers good restaurants and great nightlife.

There are many golf courses, beaches, scuba diving, surfing, jet skiing, windsurfing & kite surfing, riding, fishing, cycling, sailing, to mention but a few and when the kids have tried of all these there are still water parks, jeep safaris and Zoo marine world. For those seeking other challenges, skydiving is an active sport at Alvor aerodrome at certain times of the year. Additionally, there is the racing track 15 minutes away in Mexilhoeira that hosts Formula 1 Motor Racing, Super bike and Go Karting.

Only 20 km away is the mountain of Monchique with its Spa and thermal water, where you can enjoy a fantastic view in a cooler mountain climate while enjoying the famous piri-piri grilled chicken or regional almond cake.

On hand there are a number of companies providing catering and entertainment services for special days such as weddings and anniversaries.

Golf: Those who enjoy a round of golf have easy access to Alto Club (5 km), Meridian Penina (4 km) both designed by the grandfather of courses Henry Cotton. A little farther afield, Palmares at Meia Praia, Boavista at Lagos and Gramacho at Carvoeiro are only four amongst thirty courses throughout the Algarve.

We have just had the most wonderful week in Casa Monte! A stunning villa with lovely views, great pool and a short distance to Alvor with its many restaurants and bars. The villa itself is beautiful and utterly charming as too is it’s wonderful owner Jim! It was such a pleasure to meet him and hear the history of his farm, what a lovely man! We hope to be back!

10 nights stay in villa o Monte Alvor

We had a lovely time staying in this villa which was well equipped with plenty space for our party of 4 adults and two children. Pool area and bbq were fanstic. A big thank you to Jim who was always on hand and look after us very well. The villa is located is a just few minutes drive from Alvor Town centre and beach ( about 30 minutes walk to the beach).

Perfect Family Stay

Communication with the host was easy and we were given detailed directions from the airport. The host’s father was waiting for us at the property and he gave us a warm welcome and an extensive tour of the property with rolls, ham and drinks for us to enjoy. He popped around regularly and let us use the pool in their other villa next door for a couple of days. The villa was clean and we had our sheets and towels changed half way through our stay. The villa was a fairly short walk to the centre of Alvor and the location is easy for you to go on day trips. My parents joined us and We had enough room for 6 of us and enjoyed the outdoor eating area. It was exactly how it was shown on the website and was ideal for what we wanted.

Wonderful Vacation at an wonderful Location

We spent 14 lovely days in the house, everything we needed was there, the facility was very clean and well maintained. On nice days, the tranquility of the complex is occasionally interrupted by the cheers of skydivers. We personally found this more interesting than annoying. The landlord Jim is always available to give advice and support in all areas. We couldn't find the WiFi problems noted by other tenants because we simply took the WiFi hotspot with us to the pool, for example. We would like to thank you for the wonderful time and can recommend the facility and the landlord 100%.

Die Villa ist wirklich wunderschön und nach portugiesischem Wohnstil eingerichtet. Wir wurden von Jim sehr nett begrüßt und es wurde alles gezeigt. Jim war immer für uns da, wenn wir Fragen hatten.Die Kommunikation vorab klappte ebenfalls hervorragend. Im Haus wartete neben Jim sogar schon eine Flasche Wein, etwas Aufschnitt/Käse und Brötchen auf uns. :-)Der Tisch auf der hinteren Terrasse ist erneuert worden und bietet viel Platz für 6 Personen. Hier haben wir immer unser Frühstück genossen und die Abende verbracht. Die Strandtücher lagen ebenfalls bereit. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich direkt vor dem Haus, der andere liegt etwas weiter weg auf dem Grundstück.Waschmittel für die Waschmaschine und Tabs für den Geschirrspüler waren vorhanden. Möglichkeiten zum Aufhängen der Wäsche gab es auch ausreichend. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die Hausreinigung. In den 12 Tagen wurde das Haus 2x gereinigt, Handtücher gewechselt und 1x die Bettwäsche gewechselt.Das ist ein hervorragender Service. Alle Orte sind schnell erreichbar, Einkaufen, Strand, Sehenswürdigkeiten.Einzig das WLAN ist verbesserungsfähig und das Haus liegt an einer eigentlich kleinen Straße mit dafür recht viel Verkehr. Es muss somit mit etwas Straßenlärm gerechnet werden. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können die Villa und die Gastgeber sehr empfehlen.

Great Villa

We stayed at O Monte for 10 days in June and it was just fabulous. From the surprise Welcome Pack of bread, wine, milk cheese,ham and the gorgeous salad, to the lovely warm welcome from Jim the next morning. The villa is huge and has lots of space for a family of 5, and plenty of areas to relax. The pool was great too and we had many BBQ's and relaxed nights in with extended family in the area. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa O'Monte, it's probably one of the nicest villas we've ever rented and a big hit with our family, which included two teenagers and a tween. Also, not too far from Alvor village which has plenty of nightlife and restaurants if needed.

Ankommen und zu Hause fühlen

Der Titel ist Programm Ankommen und zu Hause fühlen das ist in diesem Haus perfekt. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, sauber und hat eine seht schöne Lage mit Blick auf das Monchique Gebirge und die Flussmündung des Ria Alvor. Ein sehr schöner Pool , Terrasse vor und hinter dem Haus runden die Sache ab. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter ist unkompliziert und sehr herzlich. Wir werden wieder kommen.
