A cosy detached Alpine chalet with open log fire and sunny balcony affording gorgeous views of the valley and surrounding peaks in the winter/summer resort of La Foux d'Allos.

There are 2 double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom sleeping 6 in beds. A double sofa-bed on the mezzanine means that an additional 2 people can be accommodated if required.

There is a family bathroom on the first floor and a separate shower room and WC on the ground floor next to the bunk bedroom.

Most of the ground floor is open plan with a feature open log fireplace in the main living area. The fully equipped kitchen area includes a dishwasher, microwave, 4 ring electric hob, full size electric oven with pizza setting and grill, large fridge/freezer and traditional Alpine raclette and fondue sets. The washing machine, iron and cleaning materials are in the cupboard in the inner hallway next to the shower room.

The chalet has Wifi, a Smart TV with Netflix, 2nd TV with DVD player (upstairs on the mezzanine) and a large selection of DVDs, books and board games for the whole family to enjoy cosy evenings round the fire.

The south-facing terrace and garden are equipped with a large table, chairs and umbrella.

There is ample car parking on site and a free Navette bus service to the village centre and ski slopes runs every 10 minutes in season.

The chalet is situated in a quiet yet convenient area of the village with the nearest ski lift a 300m walk and the village centre just a 5-10 minute walk away.

The village offers a range of shops and facilities including bakers, an excellent butcher, small supermarket, winter sports equipment hire, cashpoint machine, post box, doctor, pharmacy, and launderette. There is also a tourist office, cinema, ice rink (in the winter) and a wide choice of restaurant and bars many of which are open all year round.

There is a wide range of summer activities on offer in the village or nearby including archery, tennis, mountain bike trails, hiking routes, the Verdon Express (luge on rails), horse riding, paragliding, windsurfing, whitewater rafting, nature trails and fishing. Or you can just relax on the sunny balcony with a coffee and a good book and enjoy the scenery and mountain air!

L'arrivée se fait facilement, il a été tres apprécié de pouvoir quitter le logement un peu plus tard que prévu. La proximité avec la navette de la station est tres pratique. Je suggere de mettre a disposition une pelle de deneigement pour degager les escaliers d'acces ce qui serait vraiment pratique.

Chalet bien équipé en matériel mais chambre restreinte car hauteur sous toit minimum impossible même de s'assoir sur un des côtés des lits 2 places. Terrasse sans aucune vue.

chalet parfait pour vacances en famille

Un chalet vraiment bien placé! DUNCAN est un hôte remarquable! L'accueil est superbe! toujours une petite attention pour ses locataires! En ce qui concerne le chalet il est spacieux très bien entretenu. La cheminée est un vrai plus (le bois est fourni et les flambées sont géniales!) La cuisine est très bien équipée! la salle à manger est parfaite pour accueillir largement 8 adultes. le salon et les canapés sont parfait pour se reposer après une journée de ski près du feu. les deux salles de bain ainsi que les 2 WC (en haut et en bas) sont un vrai plus également. les deux chambres en haut sont spacieuses et la literie est très bonne. les draps fournis ainsi que le linge de toilette sont un avantage non négligeable pour finir la terrasse exposé plein sud vous réserve un paysage géniale le matin. Le chalet était très propre (comme d'habitude avec les biens de DUNCAN) Merci encore pour la disponibilité de DUNCAN pendant notre petit souci de plaque de cuisson ;) je finirais par donné le seul avis négatif que j'ai eu: Les photos du chalet ne sont pas représentative de celui-ci! En effet, il est beaucoup mieux que sur les photos!!! bien cordialement François

I am married and live in rural Kent with my Japanese husband and two small children.

I studied French and Japanese at Leeds University and have a love of all things French.

My family and I travel to France regularly and love to spend time in the mountains. I used to have a town-house in rural Basse Normandy and my sister is renovating a village house in the Loire.

Why they chose this property

My parents bought the chalet over 30 years ago for the stunning views and convenient edge-of-village location. It has access to some fantastic on and off piste skiing and is also a great summer resort. The friendliness of the locals and the modest prices in the resort were other key factors. The people we met there on our first holiday are still friends now.

It is a superb family-friendly resort with fantastic skiing and a great snow record. It is also a great summer resort and just a two hour drive (or train ride) from the beaches at Nice and Cannes on the Cote d'Azur.

What makes this property unique

Detached Norwegian-style wooden chalet with open log fire. Set in a quiet and peaceful location on the edge of La Foux d'Allos village with access to 230 kms of piste and the best off-piste skiing in the southern Alps.

The chalet is an ideal family or group rental offering comfortable accommodation for both skiers and non-skiers alike.

Superb walking, mountain biking, fishing, swimming and tennis are among the many activities on offer in the summer months.

The chalet is well equipped and has the extra little touches and attention to detail that make it a real home from home.
