Lovely Home, Sound Access - Come & Enjoy The Lucky Fish Cottage

Refreshed and ready for Summer! Nicely furnished & appointed, great for hosting families or groups of friends. 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Baths and large media room with extra sleeping space if needed. The house is well stocked with what you need from kitchen to beach gear. Super, South End location. Walk to ocean beach or sound fishing, swimming, kayak and SUP access point. We built with our family and friends in mind and hope you will enjoy this cottage as much as we do. 1 mile to Town Center-playground, restaurants, shopping, wine bar/coffee shop, marina/boat launch, mini-golf, roller skating & Jolly Roger Fishing Pier. There are a couple craft beer, bottle shops on the way in. New Surf City restaurants, breweries, a distillery, grocery stores, etc.

The house Interior has all you can wish for and exterior has several deck & porch options along with a nice, grassy back yard for games. Outdoor shower under the house, perfect for rinsing off after the beach. Storage room with plenty of gear: chairs, cooler, beach cart, boogie boards, 3 kayaks, 4 bikes, 1 SUP, beach toys, corn hole game, etc. Easy, vacation living is what we strive for with nice accommodations, similar to what folks are used to rather than "roughing it" at the beach! The perfect spot for adults and kids...everyone will be VERY happy!

This is the perfect home for holiday and special occasion celebrations! We have a large kitchen island, big dining table with many chairs and a fully stocked kitchen in terms of appliances, cookware and dishes. Outdoor picnic table and grill, media room, great for family games or movie nights. The game closet can't be beat! Downstairs living room has a flat screen TV above the fire place w sound bar and there is a second, larger TV upstairs. We have deeded sound access across from the house. There is sound access across the street for swimming, SUP and Kayaking. For larger boats, we recommend Bush's Marine which is friendly and reasonable. You can use the ramp for the day or rent a slip. It is a 2 minute drive from the house or a quick bike ride! 910-328-2746.

Still the best!

This was the 4th or 5th time we’ve stayed at the Lucky Fish and it’s still the best! We love the location - views of the sound, but also a quick walk to the beach. We also like this quieter end of the island, but there’s still restaurants, gift shops, and a convenience store close enough to walk to or ride one of the bikes included in the rental. We like to kayak and there’s a sandy area to put in across the street from the property. If you like to cook the kitchen is well appointed and the layout of the home, along with the decor, is just perfect. My favorite pastime is sitting on one of the decks watching the boats and birds. We’ll definitely be back!

Great beach house

We could be more pleased with our stay. The home was absolutely stunning and in a great location with just a short bike ride to the ocean. Everyone was extremely friendly and our dog had a blast running while we collected seashells. There was plenty to do and see but the best was sitting on the deck watching the sunset. We will be back for sure.

Excellent for Family Retreat and Fun in Sun

Dave and Sarah know what they are doing! I picked this place for the kayaks and fireplace. We had great communication with Dave and Sarah. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place. Besides being perfectly clean and a well stocked kitchen, the best surprise was how much fun it was to play with all the beach toys: 5 bikes, 3 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, skim boards, surf boards, a sand shovel... I'm sure I'm missing others. We'll be back!

Nice Long Weekend

We had a great experience! We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen with great appliances, the fun beach supplies, and the perfect location. We loved watching the sunset over the sound - beautiful view. Thank you very much for sharing your lovely cottage.

A home away from home

As soon as we arrived, we knew we chose the right place for our vacation rental. The house was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and to make our stay easier. The house was clean on arrival, and the different areas of the home were perfect and allowed room for everyone to enjoy time together or have their own space. It provided the perfect comforts of home with the added benefits of vacationing. The owners were easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. We loved the water pressure and the easy rinse off area outside when we returned from the beach. Although we brought or own beach gear, they had plenty to go around and we loved the convenience of the storage area outside. The full size picnic table and abundance of seating was great for cooking out or just relaxing on any of the three decks. The front decks were perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets over the sound. The drive to town was only a few minutes, and worth it to provide a little extra space on a less travelled area of the island. My husband was stationed at Camp Lejeune for 8 years and he was dying to go back and visit the area. I'm glad I listened. The best part was that we were able to bring our pets and not have to leave them behind with friends or family. The Lucky Fish Cottage was the perfect getaway.

David and Sarah have lived full time in Wilmington, NC (about 1 hour south of Topsail Beach) over 12 years. We love all things beach, boating and family. Owning a beach cottage has been a long-time dream and we are now happy to make it a reality and share it with others. Our children: Ella 17 and Mason 15 are growing up quickly. We wanted to build a home in Topsail Beach because it is a quiet, family friendly spot where we hope to unplug, reconnect and relax together! Dave has always hoped for a house where we could watch the sun set at the end of the day. The sunsets from Lucky Fish Cottage cannot be beat and for that...we feel pretty lucky!

Why they chose this property

We built this home with beach, fun & family gatherings in mind. We wanted to offer a vacation home with finishes, furnishings and amenities that were in line with what people are used to day to day. The furnishings are comfortable and classic and the floor plan provides room for gatherings of large groups but privacy when preferred. There are multiple entertaining spaces inside and out with a deck and porch on the front of the home and a private deck off the master bedroom on the backside of the house.

What makes this property unique

We have cable TV, WIFI internet access and a closet stuffed with games. We have a blender, French press, coffee maker, electric griddle and crock pot. There is a pack and play, baby gate, bed rail and high chair seat. Below the house is a storage room with beach gear: chairs, kayaks, a cooler, corn hole game, sand toys, boogie boards, skim boards and a beach cart for transporting gear. Please bring helmets and child life jackets, we do not have these. We wanted to make vacation living as easy as possible and hopefully provide the comforts of home...all while in a pristine and beautiful beach setting! If there is something specific you need for your vacation, please let us know. If we don't already have it included in our rental, we can consider adding it...just ask! *We do have an agreement with a local surf shop HWY 50 -they will provide a discount for guests of the Lucky Fish Cottage and even deliver the following for a small fee: Bikes, Kayaks, Surfboards, SUPS, etc. We do not provide linens (sheets and towels for beach and bath). Linens, etc. can be rented and delivered by Sweet Dreams Linens. We do have pillows and blankets.
