This beautiful and modern townhome is located just 20 yards from the Beach. You can have your toes in the sand and hit the waters edge within a minute of walking out the front door. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from the kitchen/living room, master bedroom, and rooftop deck. The comfortable layout provides plenty of space to comfortably relax when traveling as a large group. Located in the heart of Mission Beach you have many options for dining and other local activities that are sure to leave you feeling the local vibe of the San Diego scene. Also situated on the main floor with kitchen and living room is a bathroom with sink and toilet .... especially nice for those guest sleeping on the living room sleeper sofa.

Indoor features include modern finishes throughout. From stainless appliances in the kitchen, a washer/dryer, & granite counter tops to the luxury of rain showerheads in the bathrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable and new king-size bed with ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom, sitting privately on the lower lever, has a queen size bed and another ensuite bathroom. Perfect for those couples traveling together! An additional bonus room is also downstairs for added visitors. This space is a converted walk-in closet and has one set of narrow bunk beds and is ideal for 2 children. For additional sleeping space you will lastly find a very comfortable top of the line sofa sleeper in the living room.

The newest addition to this wonderful property is the newly remodeled rooftop. With stunning views of both the ocean and the bay you can take in the sites and soak up the sun and the salty coastal air. The rooftop space features a custom built in BBQ grill, sink and ice bin for keeping those beverages cold. As well, stock the mini fridge and save yourself a trip back to the kitchen. From watching the sunrise to the sunset, your sure to spend a lot of time on this private rooftop patio space. Once the sun does dip into the ocean, lite the gas firepit and listen to the crashing waves as evening rolls into night. Enjoy your meals while taking in the stunning views around you, including the Pacific Ocean and iconic Mission Bay. Two extra wide benches provide comfortable seating for 6. This unit is close enough to walk to restaurants, shopping, Belmont Park, or the Bay. It is even a short drive to local attractions like: Sea World ~10 minutes, the San Diego Zoo ~15 minutes, Balboa Park ~15 minutes, Old Town San Diego ~ 15 minutes, Downtown San Diego ~15 minutes, USD Campus ~10 minutes, and the Torrey Pines golf course ~20 minutes.

Family vacation

Great family vacation

The condo was a nice place close to the beach. Walking distance to Belmont Park. The best part was the upstars roof top area to grill or just hang out and enjoy your favorite beverages. Over all nice place. Only downfall would be no A/C but early morning and night time temps kept the place conformable.

Had a very poor experience with both the property management company, and with the property itself! House was not properly cleaned (sheets not changed from the previous guests. Microwave did not work, just overall a poor experience for our family and the vacation we had planned. Called 7 times in 1 week and only got 2 responses. Disappointed, Disgusted and Frustrated.

Good location

The location was nice – unobstructed views of the beach. Fortunately, there was a pullout couch so our teenage sons could sleep - The bunkbeds in the closet are only functional if you have small children. The master bedroom was ideal – spacious with ocean views and the showers were large. The rooftop patio was a nice hangout area as the living room was very small. Overall, it worked for what we needed.

The property was clean and well maintained. There is a small historic house between the beach and this apartment, so there is a clear view to the ocean. We could watch surfers and even spot dolphins from inside the house or up on the roof. With 6 of us in the house the main living area was a little crowded. Also, I wasn't too impressed with the amount/type of bowls, cups, and silverware. However, we ate out most of the time and hardly noticed. The property manager was very responsive. The battery died in the electronic lock and he had someone there within 30 minutes to fix the issue. The other great thing about this property is the location. It was far enough away from Belmont and the main parking lot that the beach was very open right in front of the apartment. However, when we wanted to go to Belmont it was a short walk. This is our 5th year in a row visiting Mission Beach and my kids all thought this location was the best so far. We didn't end up using the little closet converted into a bunkroom. The younger kids opted to sleep on the floor in the other rooms which were large enough to do so and we also used the pull-out couch in the living room. It was great having a bathroom on each floor. The master bedroom was very large and had awesome views of the ocean. The roof top had a BBQ grill and sink that we used along with a fridge. There was a working gas firepit that we sat around and played games on the roof. Parking was tight so we parked on the street.

Spring Break

Though we had family in to SD county form WI and MN and spent some time with them, our primary reason for our renting this unit was to spend part of Spring Break with our daughter and granddaughters. The unit was well suited for our purposes. Though it lacks adequate dining space indoors, we were not inconvenienced because we ate all of our meals, including breakfast, out. We regularly rent units in a variety of locations. This was the cleanest ever, though our daughter discovered a used toothpick under her pillow on our first night. One of our granddaughters also complained about sand on the floor in the children's bedroom area; however, I was not particularly concerned since it seems that such goes with beach property. All of us enjoyed the rooftop patio. The open lot between this property and ocean allow for not only a great view from so many of the west facing windows and wonderful ocean sounds as well. The location in the Mission Bay area rather than Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach gave us a more relaxing than go-go atmosphere. Most of our outings were on-foot. The few times we did take our SUV out of the parking nook meant that I had to maneuver it back in again. A helpful nearby property owner advised, as I attempted to park in the very cramped space for the first time, that the space is best addressed by backing in. All of the negative comments, though, are carping criticism. None ought to keep a prospepctive renter away.

A Disappointing Trip

This place is a dump. The pictures must have been taken quite some time ago, because they do not reflect what we encountered. Starting with the parking space, we had one disappointment after another. The parking space is so narrow and their is no room from behind it to get a decent angle to squeeze in. There are marks all over the walls, so evidently other travelers had difficulty getting in and out as well. The interior of this rental was appalling. Windows did not open and close properly. The blinds were broken. The ceiling was peeling and the ceiling fan was also broken. There was dirt and peeling paint everywhere. The chair cushions had sand and hair on them. The bedspread in the master bedroom also had sand on it. The nicest room in the entire place was the master bathroom, which probably was recently remodeled. The outside staircase was not secure - anyone could have just walked up and tried to break in. The upper deck grill was atrocious. We called the number to ask if we could get our money back and leave immediately. But it took over half an hour to reach someone. The only positive thing I can relate unfortunately is that we did get a hold of someone and they did refund our money. Our family traveled for 3 hours and packed our vehicle with fresh groceries, expecting to be staying in a rental home. We were scrambling at the last minute to find a hotel, and had to throw out a lot of our food.

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful place with ocean views. Loved going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves even night. Roof top was amazing place to hang out and bbq. The grill wasnt an even heat. No living space inside but we managed. Our bedroom was the master was amazing! So comfortable and spacious! I didn't want to leave my room! Nice walking area on beach. Busy street on the other side. Very small parking area.

Stunning View and Location

This was an incredible place to stay but lacked some necessities I assumed would be there which made it difficult when we aren’t from here. There were no baking dishes. No cookie sheets or pizza pans, nothing. There were no scissors, pens, nothing. They only give 2 towels per guest but then don’t leave you any laundry soap to wash the towels. We were there almost a week so I had to go and purchase laundry soap. They have a beautiful fireplace table on the rooftop but there are no instructions on how to light it and it turns out you need a lighter so I had to purchase one. I asked about beach chairs and sand toys which they told me there weren’t any so we paid to rent some and there were many there we could have used instead of paying extra. The wifi password was wrong on the fridge so we didn’t have wifi the first few days until I logged into my email and checked the email they sent me which has a different password and that worked. I also would have loved access to the hose in the alley to rinse our sandy feet off after the beach. It was locked so we ended up dragging all the sand into the house which could have been avoided. The last thing I would say is the couch was very uncomfortable. It was slightly pulled out (because it’s a pull out couch) and so it was very hard to sit on. Since there is no kitchen table you sit there for everything. Overall I would stay again but would have to bring a lot more stuff to be more comfortable!

This was a very nice property - very comfortable master bed! Living space was tight which was tough on bad weather days but great views and overall worked well for our family! A few notes - drain in the kitchen level bathroom drained very slow and the closet door in the downstairs bedroom was off track - we couldn’t get it back on.

Great Location!

This is a 4 story home ideal for easy access to the beach, a spectacular rooftop deck with views of the ocean and bay… but it is lacking any kind of indoor living /dining space to hang out or relax. It would be great for 2 couples or a family with young children that can deal with lots of stairs and a very tiny bunk room, especially in the summer months when it stays light until after 8 pm so you can eat dinner on the deck. Thanksgiving dinner in near darkness on the roof was a little challenging. There is one small uncomfortable couch in the family room/sitting area next to the kitchen; it pulls out to a bed that my adult son used after we covered the very dirty mattress pad with extra towels and a bedspread as we could not find bedding for this in any cabinet or closet. An L shape comfortable couch would be a good investment. We would have appreciated more directions for the TV other than “Go to the Sprectrum app”…. We are older, but even our 20 something kids had a hard time figuring out how to navigate it. The master bedroom was excellent, lots of space, comfy bed and huge shower. Second bedroom with en-suite was also nice. Parking for two small sedans or small SUV as indicated on site- but it is a tight squeeze and requires a three or four point turn due to the angle. Our Ford F-150 did not fit but we found street parking and public parking on El Carmel was easy to walk to. Keypad access for door was easy, but door is heavy and a door stop to keep it open would be helpful. There were no hoses accessible on the ground floor to rinse feet and beach gear, this made for a sandy entry to get to the hose on the second floor balcony; the back ally of the unit had a hose but it was locked. Kitchen appliances were great, fairly well stocked- only 6 forks made for lots of washing between meals (we were there for Thanksgiving) and no spatula or baking sheets The listing specified to bring your own spices and oils etc and we appreciated the heads up. Sorry so wordy, it is a nice house, but not well suited for every renter.

Family vacation

We had a great time on the beach in San Diego. The condo was clean and bright with 4 levels of living space. Location to the beach cant be beat! Beware, though, the condo is on Mission Blvd, which can be very loud. We were out most of the time, so noise wasnt too bothersome. The main living room is quite small with no designated space for eating. We became creative for breakfasts. Ate other meals out or on rooftop deck. The sofa in living room was very uncomfortable. Maybe consider a small sectional and a chair? One glitch in our week. We went to bed the first night and woke to the smell of gas throughout the unit the next morning. We opened doors and windows to air out the condo. Discovered a knob on the stove had been on during the night. The next day I was reaching to use the microwave and found the stove knob turned on very easily. Happened again later the same day. I notified the company regarding the potential danger, recommended stove be changed out immediately. Havent heard back from the company, will call this week. Thankfully, all of us were fine. The possible dangers of the situation were not lost on me. We loved our week, had the best time. Unfortunately due to the experience with the stove, we will look elsewhere for rentals in the future.

Mission Beach Stay

Great location. We rent many houses and this is the first with quality mattresses. Slept great. Rooftop deck was fantastic. Parking is problematic if your vehicle is anything larger than a compact car. The third bedroom is not a room at all. It’s a closet they built some makeshift bunk beds. Our teenagers were not happy.

Tight parking

Location great, master bedroom lots of room, the only issue is the parking.- our Grand Cherokee barely fit- very narrow. Other than that would highly recommended.

Bottom line - great views and would stay here again

This rental had fantastic ocean views from multiple rooms and rooftop patio. Unit also had other smaller balconies. Unit was clean and well-equipped. Unit was smaller than it appeared in pictures so might be cramped with more than 4 (third bedroom is literally a converted closet). Also, second bedroom is on ground floor and didn't have a view but had very private nice bathroom/shower. We did not have a car but parking space would have been real tight and tough to get into. Location was great - in the heart of mission beach and steps from the beach itself. Management responded quickly to inquiries and even called the day of our check-in to make sure we were all set. All in all, great place to stay and would stay here again.

Sub par property, nice location.

Lighting throughout the condo dimmed every few seconds, amenities were skimpy and of low quality (e.g., toilet tissue (only 2 per bathroom provided), kitchenware, towels (only 1 set per guest provided), blankets, pillows), upstairs toilet had urine inside upon arrival, inadequate and uncomfortable seating in the living area, refrigerator handles and stove knobs dirty, parking not appropriate for anything other than an economy car (our small SUV required a 12-point turn to fit in the space), and upstairs shower turned on randomly. The bunk bed "room" is absolutely tiny - beds are smaller than twin-size. Pull-out couch is in the tiny living room (which also acts as the dining room when the table and chairs are unfolded), so it is very inconvenient to use. The master bed/bath upstairs is massive and gorgeous. The master on the lowest level is nice. I wouldn't recommend rental of this property if you need more than 2 bedrooms. This property is more like a hotel/business, not a home, like most of the other VRBO properties we've rented. No beach equipment or towels provided. It was nice to have a crockpot. Good location, large closets and pantry, great views of beach. 30 second walk to beach/walking path. Great people watching and views of both the ocean & bay (from the rooftop).
