We loved our stay at Romany Rye. The cottage is warm and cosy and we loved its quirks. The location was perfect for us and our two young children. It's a 1 minute walk to the seafront and high street. The car parking space was an extra bonus.

Good cottage
Stayed here twice - shame it’s now closing at end of 2023 season & not available for rental, been a great place
Closest to beach we've ever stayed! Old fashioned but quiet with a lovely little sheltered front garden area full of birdsong. Helpful agents and owner. Friendly neighbours. Everything you need nearby ....ie a few mins walk away.

Great location
Romany Rye is ideally situated in Sheringham, with the bonus of a car parking space. If you park up you won’t need the car again as it is just a short walk to the beach, steam railway, mainline railway, bus and shops.
The cottage is very quaint and quirky but there are steps between levels so you need to be quite able.
Ideal place to visit if you like a quiet holiday.
We had a lovely time, we have family in Sheringham, so love it there.
The location very good, really enjoyed our stay, but my husband who is disabled, did find the steps inside the house quite difficult.
The fire alarm went off every time we used the toaster, so kept the back door open. But all in all really enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant stay
Lovely cottage very close to East Beach. It was clean and tidy with a quirky layout. Its a little dated but that is part of the charm for us. If we have to put a negative its the lack of WiFi. However, we found this only a minor inconvenience.
Overall the location is excellent and the cottage is wonderful. We will have no hesitation is staying here again or recommending it to others.

Excellent location with the all important parking space
First visit to Norfolk, and absolutely blessed with the amazing weather. Romany Rye is perfectly located for the beach, restaurants, pubs and shops. Yes, it's a little dated, and there is no WiFi but that didn't detract from the great holiday we had.
Double bed in the main room was very comfortable, and neither of the kids complained about their beds so they must have been ok too. Couldn't find any information about the bins (recycling in particular), also had to guess how to use the washer but it wasn't rocket science. Hopefully we will return in the future

Spacious cottage , super location
Lovely spacious cottage , super location close to beach , pubs and shops and handy for train and buses to other parts of the lovely North Norfolk coast and apart from needing an update from chipped crockery , bathroom carpet !! and living room carpet could do with a deep clean . We enjoyed our stay very much .

Needs money spending on this property
Stayed at Romany rye in sheringham. This place is very dated and needs urgent attention. The oven was filthy and has not been cleaned all year the crockery had chips on the plates there is mould in the main bedroom which is hidden behind a chair. The front garden is overgrown and made it difficult to use the front door. This place could be great but they need to sort out the issues it has

Family Summer holiday in Sheringham
A great location, however the cottage could have been cleaner. Filthy black bath mat in shower meant it hadn’t been moved good for a while. Cobwebs in many areas and greasy cooker meant that cleaning was often not up to a high standard. A real shame as the cottage has some lovely features and is superb for Sheringham, the beach and North Norfolk.

A great stay
The cottage was just as we expected from the photos on line. Equipped with all we needed. Great location for the town and beach.
Well positioned for the sea front, beaches and town centre. Property was clean, and roomy. Great to have a parking space. Convenient for the town and shops, whilst still being in a quiet area.

A place that has been excellent in the past but this time it needed a bit of an upgrade.
Parts of house had not been cleaned for a while dusty in places. Bed needs replacing. Window key needed

Great location needs updating
Best location in Sheringham with parking space but let down by uncomfortable beds, lack of internet and the supply of a video player (no videos in the property) instead of a DVD player.
We had an enjoyable stay at the cottage and all comfortable and clean. Close to the sea but not so your car would be swept away by waves - there was a Gale during our week. Great to have early morning walk along promenade. Amenities all walking distance.
No Wi-Fi had its blessings for most of the time. Cottage rooms on different levels and one steep step between dining room and hallway to lounge and stairs for bedrooms. Cottage stairs as you would expect.
Would happily stay there again.

Fantastic Location
Fantastic location just 2 minutes from beach, Cottage is a bit tired and needs a deep clean especially the curtains, the linings are badly stained. If that is done it would be lovely. It is not suitable for people with mobility issues due to very steep steps.

Disappointing!
Whilst the cottage is in a good location for shops and beach and is deceptively spacious it is in dire need of a complete up-date. The garden needs a little work to make it a pleasant place to sit and the garden furniture is basic and weather worn to say the least. There is obviously a damp problem inside and a very musty smell particularly in the television corner in the lounge. The shower in the bathroom leaks and there is black mould and a wet corner of the carpet. Who carpets a bathroom these days?! Similarly the kitchen is very dated and not overly clean. We realise that there are Covid rules to adhere to but a welcome message and some instructions for appliances, local information etc, would have been nice, even in an e-mail. Aah, no Wifi! We have self catered many times and have always been used to quality bedding and towels provided. No towels (which we were informed about beforehand) and bedding which was cheap and had seen better days. Such a shame as the cottage has great potential and the benefit of parking but really needs a complete overhaul to make it of today’s standards, homely, welcoming and a great place for a holiday.

A pleasant house near the sea
It was a very nice house, within a few minutes from east beach, I would not recommend it for older or disabled people because there are a lot of high steps throughout the house.
