About this property

Charming Rustic Lodge with Pool and Lovely views. Walk to Tapas Bar and Beach.

The Cottage and Casitas are housed in the grounds of a beautiful Rustic Finca, in a elevated position, with gorgeous views to Portugal and River Minho. Good sized swimming pool 'with a view' in mature green and secure grounds. All have either terrace or shaded areas for sitting out, and have use of BBQ, and recreational areas. Peaceful area, with river, forest and hill walks direct from Finca. Sandy river beach, safe for swimming, 10 minutes walk, with many gorgeous sandy sea beaches within 15- 30 minutes drive, on both Spanish and Portuguese side. Good restaurants within walking distance, and in the heart of The Albarino wine producing area of Rosal. Lots to do and see with Celtic and Roman and other historical remains abundant in the locality. Water sports, riding, walking trips and cycling can be organised locally. Ideal location for couples, families or larger groups with a separate large reception room available if required. Check Finca Rio Mino comments on search sites.
Scandinavian Style wood clad lodges, with simple but comfortable living accommodation. Two twin bedrooms, bathroom, and living/dining room. Casita kitchen fully equipped for self catering, with large fridge/freezer and cooker, with ample work surfaces.
Outside is a elevated shaded terrace for alfresco dining and relaxing, with lovely views of the forest, River and Portuguese hills, and overlooking the swimming pool and BBQ area.
The lovely small town of Vila Nova de Cerveira is just 10 minutes drive away across the International bridge, without a 'not to miss' Saturday market.
My personal profession is a spiritual coach and I would love to offer private Yoga/Pilates/Meditation/Breath work sessions during your stay at my new studio on the Finca grounds if that interests you please do let me know.

What a find!

Had a wonderful time at Finca Rio Mino, Robin is the perfect host, great communication and a lovely warm welcome awaited us when we arrived. We loved the pool! The chalet was clean, had all the necessary items and lovely views. We visited many of the places that Robin had noted in the pack he gave us, and was always helpful in giving us further advice when required. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, peaceful and welcoming

We had a fantastic week at Finca Rio Mino, welcomed by Robin, who did everything we could have wanted and made us happy in his home. The lodge was well-equipped and comfortable, and the gardens and pool were lovely. The area was new to us and is very green, lovely rivers, attractive mountains and walks and some interesting history. There were also good local restaurants nearby which Robin was able to tell us about and recommend. I would definitely go back.

A tranquil haven in beautiful scenery

The lodge is simply but comfortably furnished. The balcony provides an ideal vantage point from which to enjoy the garden and the lovely views over a drink or a meal. The nearby restaurants serve excellent and inexpensive tapas and meals. Robin was an excellent, welcoming and attentive but unobtrusive host.

We stayed in 'Rosal' - one the two wooden chalets in the grounds of Finca Rio Mino. It was comfortable and well equipped and we loved having breakfast on our little terrace and thought the pool and grounds were great. Overall, we really enjoyed this stay - it was good value; relaxing and just what we needed. Owner Robin was full of excellent advice and local knowledge and couldn't have been more informative and helpful. The chalet was fine for us and had a lovely rural/rustic feel - though I suppose it is possible some used to smart hotels etc might find the shower and furniture a little dated and the bed(s) a little creaky. We had no such problems with it and would consider staying again if in this part of the world in future.

Lovely cottage, great area!

We had a lovely stay at finca rio mino. The cottage was neat, cosy and well equipped. The area is great, with lots of different things to do. You can either be active and explore the area with different hikes, by bike and by car, or enjoy the wheater at the swimming pool, river or one of the beautiful beaches. Lots of nice villages are close by, both on in Spain and Portugal. The owner gave us some great recommendations regarding the things we should see, activities and the best restaurants near by. We recommend a stay at finca rio mino and will definitely consider it for our next holiday.

Perfect!

We had a superb week with Robin and Debra and pets. The kids, aged 7 and 6, were never bored with the pool, goldfish and beautiful garden to play in. They particularly loved the pets, with Brock (the lifeguard) being the favourite! Pool was very clean and very refreshing in the summer heat. The Rosita was perfect, very clean and equipped with everything we needed and all meals eaten on the balcony overlooking the river and Portugal. Robin and Debra were very helpful giving good tips for local day trips... super beaches, kayaking, kids waterpark, rockpools, local festivals, a beautiful part of Spain with plenty to do.

Galician Gem on the River Minho

A week overlooking the River Minho at this Finca was truly beautiful. We rented one of the simple casitas and would come back again for sure. We were greeted like family by Robin on arrival and then walked down to the river beach with his dogs Brock and Dylon to the local tapas bar on our first night. Kindness that was beyond the call of duty and made our holiday very memorable. You have the choice of swimming in the pool or in the river and you can even cross over into Portugal if you need more river beaches or need a Portuguese custard tart. There were countless festivals to see when we were there as well as incredible forest walks and churches to wander into. A place that was inspiring and restful. Thank you Robin! Beautiful place to relax

We had a really enjoyable stay(two adults and two teenagers 14 and 15) and Robin couldn't have been more helpful when it came to suggesting various activities and places to visit. The chalet has a lovely view of Portugal across the river and as a result of its location its a good base to explore both countries. Lovely pool and BBQ area just below chalet. There's plenty to do - cycling, riding, kayaking etc and our two weeks flew by. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, there are good restaurants within walking distance.

Wonderful corner of spain

Had a wonderful week made special by Robin, Brock and Dylan. Set in the most beautiful area of Spain that we will be revisiting as there is so much to see and do. Eating at the local tapas bars near the river was very enjoyable too. Thank you Robin for your help in advising places to visit.

A fantastic place for family fun

We are a family of five (7,5,2) and we just about squeezed in to the wonderful wooden casita. View from our balcony of Portugal was stunning. The pool and gardens were really well done and the secure location meant we could let the kids roam and relax. The area feels very un touristy and there are lots of little walks and bike tides to do in safety and tranquility. Robin creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and kids loved his dogs. The casita is basic but it has a charm to it and represents excellent value.

Everthing you could ask for

A warm welcome from both the owner Robin and his two very friendly dogs makes this a wonderful place for a fantastic holiday whether it is for an action packed family one or just a quiet chill for two, The setting is quite beautiful and the casita itself has everything you need and there is a large garden and safe pool. If you want action there are lots of interesting places to visit, beaches to go to and lovely long walks, all of which Robin is very knowledgeable about and helpful with. If you just want to relax Finca Rio Minho is ideal with its lovely views, a large garden and pool to laze beside - you cannot fail to unwind, especially with a glass of the local wine in your hand! Robin is on hand to tell you about the excellent restaurants around, some of which you can walk to and shops are near at hand for all you need to make a perfect holiday. We will certainly return at the earliest opportunity.

Being in nature is what I love most and thats why I fell in love with Galicia and 'Finca Rio Mino' at first sight when I visited for the first time in 2020. An inner voice said you are home, and three years later I am so happy to say it is.
I have over a decade in hosting Retreats in Goa, India, ensuring my guests needs are met and look forward to assisting guests here in Galicia.
My passion and purpose in life is to teach Yoga, meditation and other spiritual practices and in the coming years I will be offering Retreats at this property too.

This is an area with such beautiful peaceful, yet exhilarating diversity, that whatever the time of year or weather, it is impossible to be bored or have nothing to do.... From walks along the river, water sports, beaches, mountain hikes, yoga, visiting vine wards, amazing markets and fabulous restaurants, there is always something to do or the choice to do nothing and enjoy the beauty and peace at Finca rio mino.
