Beautiful cottage

Great two story cottage on a farm with sheep and horses. Loved the picket fenced backyard and the views of the valley. Easy access to the more dramatic mountains of Snowdonia and a great walk by the creek to town with a great pub or cafe.

Beautiful location, wonderful accommodation, fantastic hosts!

We had a fantastic break at this beautiful characteristic cottage. It's location is perfect, so many wonderful places to explore nearby. Such as the stunning views and walks around horseshoe pass, and horseshoe Falls. Great little historic villages. Ruthin village itself is a nice place to visit, full of history. And only a 1hr drive from Mount Snowdon. Overall we had an absolutely wonderful family break, and have made lots of memories. We're hoping to come back in the near future!

The cottage was lovely, so comfortable and clean. The location was stunning, the views from the garden were amazing. Lovely, comfortable, cosy cottage in North Wales

We just loved this cottage. It was perfect - spotlessly clean, cosy, well-equipped with loads of character. Beds were super comfy too and the kitchen was really good to cook in . The tasty treats waiting for us were much appreciated and the hosts were brilliantly flexible on timings and with check-in (we arrived in the middle of the night) and were communicative and helpful hosts. We really loved all the care that had been taken with furnishings and cannot wait to return and explore more as we only had time for a fraction of the area. We are so lucky that we stumbled across this cottage.

Just beautiful

Absolutely beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage is well presented, spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and we even asked where to buy the mattresses as we slept so well. Tony is extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Fantastic location as although Ruthin is only 2 miles away you feel very secluded and relaxed. We had amazing days out and a well earned rest. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful stay

We had such a lovely holiday in this beautiful part of the country, in large part due to our warm and knowledgeable hosts Helen and Tony. The cottage was stunning, extremely clean and furnished to a very high standard. The pictures don’t do the property justice! Beautiful Portmeirion crockery, wonderful goose down duvets. The information booklet about the area that Helen and Tony have produced was indispensable and very in-depth. We couldn’t recommend the property highly enough and are looking forward to a return visit.

Perfect cottage!

This is one of the best self catering cottages we've been to. The setting is absolutely stunning, there are beautiful views in all directions and it is so peaceful. The garden is fully enclosed and which meant we could relax without worrying about the dogs wandering off. Inside the cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need in the week and most importantly, the beds are very comfortable. Conveniently located just outside of beautiful Ruthin which has plenty of amenities. The hosts are very welcoming and have lots of tips on what to do locally, but our favourite was the short walk down to Lady Bagot's Drive which is a stunning valley river walk. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely wonderful

Where to start. This is by far the best stay cation we have ever had. 1. The property- absolutely beautiful, outstandingly clean and welcoming. Feels like a home from home upon immediately entering. The property has so much space and the decor is absolutely lovely so in keeping with the property, lovely touch of cake on arrival and details of local area and dos and don't. The beds are so comfortable, everything you need for your stay. 2. The location, wow ! The views are literally incredible I cannot explain how breathtaking they are and the peacefulness is second to none. I lived watching the sheep and horses, local to everything absolutely superb. 3. The hosts.... wow what wonderful, kind, caring and guest focused people. Helen and Tony thankyou so very much for all of your help support and guidance, truly two of the most down to earth, lovely people we have ever met, thankyou we so hope we can come back next year to enjoy so much more. Fabulous Fabulous!

We were somewhat desperate when we booked this cottage. Our National Trust cottage had been cancelled at the last minute (lack of rain = lack of water at that cottage), and Helen and Tony accepted us with almost no advance notice. We are SO delighted by this turn of events, because our stay at the farm was so much better than our stay at the Trust cottage would have been (though we are still big fans of National Trust!). Helen and Tony's cottage was comfortable, spacious, clean, quiet and charming. It was perfect for us. But we also enjoyed talking to our hosts, and learning more about the area and about life in Wales. We loved chatting with the horses in the stables each morning. What a great way to start the day! But our favorite part was sitting on the lounge chairs behind the cottage each night. The chairs overlook a lovely ravine and the hills on the other side. Add some wine and cheese, and sunset becomes a thing of beauty. Be sure to take in the walk along Lady Bagot's Drive (it follows a lovely stream) and enjoy tea at the Sugar Plum Tea Room.

A wonderful week in North Wales

I thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage. It is one of the few times we have stayed somewhere that really looked like it does in the pictures, if not better. The cottage is a lovely mix of traditional, but with modern comforts. The location is great allowing guests to visit the beach, go walking and many other activities.
