LE LAURIER was the house of the wine maker and formed part of LE TRABET, an 18th century winemaking estate. This house has been fully renovated while maintaining its historic character. Old stone walls contrast nicely with a modern kitchen completely equipped with all you might need. We offer free wifi access.
Large, secured pool and well-established gardens, woods and park.
Surrounded by vineyards, woodland and sunflower fields. Le Trabet is ideal for cycling and walking and offers an ideal combination of a relaxed and active holiday. Glorious views to the Pyrénées and Montaignes Noires, golf courses and lakes nearby. The Mediterranean beaches are about one hour away. Not far from Carcassonne with its famous castle and close to the Canal du Midi where boats can be rented. Restaurants, village markets, Cathar castles, Mediterranean Sea and wineries all nearby.

Perfect for a relaxing family holiday in an idyllic setting

Claudia made us feel very welcome; the house was beautiful and the surroundings were idyllic. The huge pool was a big hit with the children, especially the evening illuminations. Thanks to Claudia for a perfect family holiday!

Lovely Holiday

Had a very relaxing week in a beautiful setting - surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. This is the second time we have been here; with different owners. Claudia is a wonderful hostess; the property was very well presented and maintained. Le Trabet is perfect for a family holiday - our two girls (8 and 2 1/2 years old) loved the place; especially the secure access swimming pool, lots of open space to run around in and explore. Lots to do in the near area: a stroll down the Canal du Midi, Cathar Castles to explore, dinosaur museums to scare the children !!, lovely little villages/towns to amble through and not forgetting Carcassonne itself. For us it is ideally located: close to the airport, good road access and with a selection of supermarkets and good local shops nearby. Heartily recommend.

Can't wait to come back in August !

I stayed here with my family for two weeks in May/June and we loved it so much we have booked another two weeks in Aug/Sept. It is so relaxing and friendly here. The owner Claudiia and her staff Richard and Dick are so helpful and they made sure that we had everything to make our holiday happy and comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and the pool is always inviting and large enough to easily accomodate adults and kids. My grandson loves it.The property was in immaculate condition when we arrived and had all the conveniences that you would expect in your own home.There is the small town of Alzonne just five minutes away by car with a large supermarket for your everyday shopping and the famous city of Carcassone is only about fifteen minutes drive away. This is an ideal location to wind down and relax but there are also many places of interest to visit nearby. I heartily recommend this property.

Spacious and clean property with beautiful grounds and lovely pool although too cool to swim at this time of year. Quiet and peaceful with excellent facilities and very welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Séjour au calme

Merci à Claudia pour son accueil dans ce gite du Palmier , la météo était au rendez-vous et la nouvelle piscine une merveille ! Nous avons visité de vieux châteaux et au retour le soir nous faisions de délicieux barbecues, il ne manquait rien , du charbon de bois aux épices . Les soirées au calme sous les étoiles étaient incroyables, nous n'avons même pas regardé la télévision juste 2 ou 3 fois nos mail avec un wifi qui fonctionnait bien. Nous avons particulièrement été touché par les attentions , un bouquet fleuri et une bonne bouteille au frais à notre arrivée. Bravo pour le Domaine du Trabet ! Pierre Poutreau

We had been looking for a place in the south of France for several years and fell in love the first time we saw Le Trabet with its stone facade and blue window shutters.
As to ourselves, we have traveled far and wide. We were both born in Germany where we attended the university. We have lived in Wales and the US and are now happy to be at this beautiful property in the unspoiled countryside of the Aude province.

Why they chose this property

Le Trabet used to be a winery, dating back to the 18th century. The Domaine has been painstakingly restored to accommodate three luxurious gites.
The estate is set in a small park with establishes trees, shrubs and hedges. The infinity swimming pool is fabulous. This is a superb property located right in the unspoiled countryside of the Aude province.
As a photographer, I take advantage capturing the many beautiful details - or I just sit down and enjoy the view…

What makes this property unique

There are over 250 years of history here and with it comes a sense of enduring quality: this is a house of stone which was built to last.
Blue window shutters and wrought-iron gates pick up the color of the sky.
An old barn with its wine cellar points to the former role as wine-making estate.
And then there is the large swimming pool, the park with its huge trees, a magnificent view of the Montagnes Noires and the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees in the distance.
What more could one want - There are numerous fantastic restaurants to discover, quaint ones and grandiose ones too: five Michelin-star restaurants are in the vicinity. Not to forget the ancient ruins and Cathar castles !
And of course there is the clear southern light and the unforgettable sound of the wind that plays with the palm trees -
