Great apartment, but . . .

Although we really liked the apartment and its location, we had ongoing issues with the property managers. First, they wanted to be paid a couple of weeks before payment was due. Then they insisted that we specify exactly when we would be at the door to be let in (didn't want to waste their employee's time). OK, we specified an exact time. But when we got there at the exact time, no one was there to let us in. It turned out that the property manager had sent us a message on What'sApp, which we didn't receive (we don't use What'sApp and they didn't tell us they would communicate with us on WhatsApp). We stood in the street and waited for half an hour before finally meeting someone with the key. He was charming and friendly, which somewhat helped to make up for the wait. BUT, they also advertised a special deal they had arranged for parking at the lot a couple of blocks away, so that's where we parked. It turns out their "deal" ended a couple of years ago! We paid the equivalent of ANOTHER NIGHT'S RENT just to keep the car in the lot they had promoted! Finally, we had to again take time to meet up with their representative to pay for the apartment, instead of being able to do it online. So, apartment gets 5 stars and managers get 1. We loved Porto. The apartment managers, not at all.

Dear Carol, Thank you for your time to leave us your feedback. We must say, it is disapointing to see some of the issues pointed that should be taken care of by you in the first place and even though we have make it easier for you - you complaint. The payment should be provided by you, through the platform (20% upon reservation, 14 days to arrival the remaining balance), as you informed your card has been stolen, we agreed to receive the payment when you arrive , risking no-show situation, leaving us with dates blocked. As you may understand we manage many properties in Porto, located in different parts in the city center and, as we informed you before, we do not have reception. This is very important to adivse your estimated arrival time and to keep us posted during the day in order to avoid waiting time for both parts. You had a Valentim contact, our general number and e-mail address so you could keep us posted the way it is convienient for you - not neccessary whatsapp. As for the parking information - we apologised. The information listed on the advert was old, and due to some intagration problems it kept apearing. Anyways, if you contacted us previously - even if to ask about the fee or spot reservation, we could avoid any bad surprises. Unfortunately parkings in Porto are very expensive and most of the streets in historical part of the city aren´t accessable by car. Apart of all, we are thrilled to know you enjoyed apartment, Porto and Valentim´s hospitality. All the best, Go2oporto team
