Great apartment, but . . .
Although we really liked the apartment and its location, we had ongoing issues with the property managers. First, they wanted to be paid a couple of weeks before payment was due.
Then they insisted that we specify exactly when we would be at the door to be let in (didn't want to waste their employee's time). OK, we specified an exact time. But when we got there at the exact time, no one was there to let us in.
It turned out that the property manager had sent us a message on What'sApp, which we didn't receive (we don't use What'sApp and they didn't tell us they would communicate with us on WhatsApp). We stood in the street and waited for half an hour before finally meeting someone with the key. He was charming and friendly, which somewhat helped to make up for the wait.
BUT, they also advertised a special deal they had arranged for parking at the lot a couple of blocks away, so that's where we parked. It turns out their "deal" ended a couple of years ago! We paid the equivalent of ANOTHER NIGHT'S RENT just to keep the car in the lot they had promoted! Finally, we had to again take time to meet up with their representative to pay for the apartment, instead of being able to do it online.
So, apartment gets 5 stars and managers get 1.
We loved Porto. The apartment managers, not at all.
