Borgo la Chiusa was part of an ancient convent just outside the walls of Siena, offering guests wonderful views, peaceful environment and one independent villa and two deliciously restored to detached houses with Siena terracotta floors, stone walls, beamed ceilings and very beautiful finishing touches.

Porcilaia, whose name means pigsty, was converted from the original pigsty of Borgo la Chiusa, part of an ancient convent.

The house sits on the left side of the property and is accessed from a welcoming terraced patio at the front of the house.

Porcilaia is endowed with an open living area, cleverly organised to fit a comfortable sofa and armchairs, a modern kitchen and dining area.

The double bedroom and the twin bedroom sit on the back portion of the house, overlooking the beautiful paved backyard ideal for breakfast in the morning!

Two full bathrooms with shower, one next to the living room and the other next to the double, in the sleeping area.

The outside offers a well kept private garden and a lovely patio equipped with table, chairs, loungers, BBQ and umbrellas for outside eating and relaxing.

Pay the GPL consumption for the heating accordingly to the meter readings and the municipality stay tax of 2 Euro per person per night if you didn't pay yet (doesn't apply to children under 12).

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The remaining balance and the refundable damage deposit of 200 Euro are due in cash on arrival.

Stay/Tourism Tax is charged 2 Euro per person per night, does not apply to children under 12 years old and is due in cash on arrival.

GPL consumption for the heating is charged on a meter at 5 Euro per cubic metre, due in cash at the end of the stay (average daily consumption 3 m³)

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the villa. Simone and Francesca were always available when we had questions, provided us with useful information before we left (grocery stores, where to go, bars, restaurants, etc). The villa itself was stunning and just what I pictured when thinking of a Tuscany stay! We also arranged for a dinner at the villa cooked by Francesca and Concetta at the villa. It was so good and a perfect way to end a beautiful day in Sienna. The food was amazing and so fresh! We would definitely book this villa again!! Thank you so much for making our stay memorable!

Just what we needed.

My sister and I had a wonderful time here. It was just what we needed at the end of a long day traveling around Tuscany. Francesca gave us much information about the Coop, places to park and restaurants. We loved the patio on the villa. It was so nice and private. We would definitely come back here again.

Lovely, Private, Perfect base for exploring Siena area

This villa suited us perfectly and Simone and Francesca were standouts among hosts. The beautiful jasmine-laden patio and manicured grounds create such a relaxing ambiance and we loved relaxing by the pool in between visiting regional villages and wineries. Francesca and Chef Vanna prepared us a beautiful and delicious meal at home, such a nice treat from always dining out. We ate simple meals at home and really liked having the washer for our clothes. A Tuscan villa experience yet private although we enjoyed meeting and talking with other personably guests. Will return!

I would stay here again. The property was stunning and beautifully maintained. Fresh flowers awaited us in the unit. The owner quickly responded to my every question. The weather was colder than expected, and when I asked if we could use the fireplace, wood was delivered to the door. They were also delivered when we asked about ping-pong paddles and balls for the table. Gratzie Simone and Francessea.

Excellent home base to explore Tuscany

The house was wonderful and centrally located. The pool was so nice, the lounge chairs were clean, and the pool water was the perfect temperature to cool off after a day in the Tuscan sun. We shared the pool with a rather large group in the neighboring house, but had it to ourselves for one day before they arrived. The sitting area in the rear courtyard was a great place for lunch or afternoon snacks, and we also enjoyed eating dinner on the front patio. It was convenient to have the washing machine and our clothes dried quickly outside on the drying rack. Francesca was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. A toaster would be a nice addition to the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Tuscany Villa

We had a wonderful stay at this villa! The location was perfect for exploring the central Tuscany region, but a car is definitely needed for a stay here. The villa was beautiful! We enjoyed the living space both inside and on the patio. Francesca, the villa owner cooked us a very tasty Welcome dinner the day we arrived. She was also available for any problems, but we did not have any issues. Simone, the property manager, was prompt with answers to any questions we had prior to arrival. If we ever return to this part of Italy we would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Experience in Great Location

This property is better than advertised if that is possible. The grounds are stunning, the pool is perfect for the hot summer and the villa is spotless. It basically has 4 master bedrooms upstairs each with their own en-suite and a fifth bedroom on the main floor which we did not need. The kitchen was fully equipped just pick up the groceries at the local Coop and you are set. But what makes this better than advertised is Francesca the owner. She is a wonderful host who is happy to give you any info you need of the area, suggest activities or direct you to some local restaurants. We even had Francesca cook us a couple meals when we were there and they were the best meals we had experienced during our trip. The location is in the center of Tuscany. Everything is an hour or less drive. Each day we went off in a new direction to experience the towns and sights. We would definitely return next time we are in Italy. Top Shelf property and host.
