About this property

5 person holiday home in KALVSVIK

Welcome to this charming little cottage in the small village of Kalvshaga. The farm setting feels genuinely Småland-like, with plenty of berry bushes and fruit trees. There is a lovely garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. A covered terrace offers a nice place to sit and enjoy your meals. In the living room there is a traditional tiled stove which you are welcome to use. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove as well as a wood-burning stove, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There is a toilet with washbasin and WC. The shower room is located in a separate annex about 10 metres from the house. On the ground floor there is a bedroom with two single beds. The upper floor has a low ceiling height (approx. 190 cm) and contains three single beds. The villagers share a nice boat mooring, where your boat is also docked. Lake Åsnen is well known for excellent fishing, and fishing permits can be purchased from the neighbour. Four bicycles are available for your use, so take the opportunity to go on a cycling trip to the Bjurkärr nature reserve, the fruit and berry farms on Sirkön, or why not cycle all the way around Lake Åsnen. The area is also a paradise for bird watchers, with species such as osprey, white-tailed eagle and falcon. In Kalvsvik (approx. 4 km away) there is a lovely swimming area with jetties. About 15 km away, at Huseby Bruk, you can visit a castle, an ironworks museum, Naturum, an inn, a café, and a nature reserve with walking trails and a lookout tower.

Worn but cozy house with beautiful natural garden

The house is quite worn on the outside, but nicer on the inside with a well-functioning kitchen and good large spaces. The shower is located in the separate building in the garden and it works fine. The garden is beautiful right next to the forest - lots of flowers and old trees. There is a covered terrace so you can sit outside whatever the weather. However, it really needs maintenance. The same goes for the garden chairs, one of which collapsed. We used the included boat several times on the lake, located 800 meters from the house, nice!
