Escape to Wind Beneath My Wings, an updated and charming Holden Beach oceanfront cottage that is perfect for your next family vacation. Upstairs, the cottage features 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 4 TVs with expanded cable, including one in every bedroom. Hardwood floors and hand-rubbed whitewashed tongue and groove walls make the interior cozy and inviting, while the eat-in kitchen and bright and cheery great room provide ample space for family gatherings.

The oceanside sunporch is the perfect spot to relax and soak up the ocean breeze while savoring the salt air and watching the kids play in the waves. A private boardwalk takes you to the beach, right outside your door, while the bistro table on the streetside porch offers unobstructed views of the salt marsh and stunning sunsets over the intracoastal waterway.

Take the interior spiral staircase downstairs and discover another brightly decorated great room, a fully stocked kitchen (2 refrigerators in this family friendly home), 3 more TVs with expanded cable, 2 additional bedrooms, and a full bath. Sliding glass doors lead to a deck with Adirondack chairs, the ideal spot to relax and stargaze.

Had enough beach for the day? Head out to your private saltwater pool with tanning shelf and pool deck stocked with plentiful seating, expanding your living space and providing the perfect setting for family fun. Challenge yourself on the Holden Beach Fit Trail, located just across the street. An outdoor hot/cold shower is situated right outside your door, making it easy to rinse off before enjoying a delicious seafood dinner.

Kick off your vacation with an stress-free arrival. We provide a starter set of essentials to get you going, including a roll of paper towels, trash bags, laundry and dishwasher pods, dish soap, and a sponge. Each bathroom is also stocked with one roll of toilet paper. Once you’ve settled in, you may need to restock these items for the remainder of your stay.

For June through August weekly rentals, your beds are made with fresh linens so you can jump right into making memories rather than making beds! Please note that while top bunks will not be made, we will provide fresh linens for them.

For weekly rentals, we also provide bath towel sets (one bath towel, one hand towel, and one washcloth) per guest for your convenience. Beach and pool towels are not included.



We allow one small dog of acceptable breed, age, and temperament with a $300 non refundable pet fee. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the pool.

We are so excited to announce installation of a private saltwater pool !

The pool is a generous 12 x 23 with plenty of decking. We have heating capability for the early spring and later fall rentals. Heat must be requested at least 1 week prior to your arrival.

This private pool will be open from April through October. Pool heat must be requested 1 week in advance of your arrival. If you choose pool heat, we will set the heater to 85 degrees 24 hours prior to your arrival during April, May, Sept and Oct, with the understanding that outdoor weather conditions greatly affect pool water temperature. Pool heaters cannot operate if the temperature outside is under 55 degrees.

ABOUT BRINGING YOUR DOG: We allow one small dog (under 45 pounds) of acceptable breed, age, and temperament with fee . Any additional pet(s) must be approved through property owner and will result in a pet fee. This fee is not to cover damages caused by a pet, but just covers the privilege of bringing them along on your vacation. Any cost resulting from damages, extra cleaning, fleas, odors, etc. that occur as a result from a pet being in a property will be deducted from your refundable security deposit.-Please pick up any and all pet waste after your pet whether on or off the rental property.-PUPPIES ARE NOT ALLOWED. -Nails must be clipped to avoid scratching damage.-The pet MUST be on a flea program, and owner must be able to provide evidence of such program if required. The dog must not be left unattended. If left alone in the house for short periods of time, the dog must be crated. The pet is NOT allowed on the furnishings or in/on bedding. -Pets are NOT allowed on the beach from May 20 to September 10, with the exception of the hours from 5:00 pm to 9:00 am. Dogs are NOT allowed in the pool. Your reservation will be canceled with no refund if you allow your dog in the pool.

CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS: : In the event there is a cancellation or a transfer of a confirmed rental for any reason, we must be notified by the leaseholder, in writing. We will make every reasonable effort to re-rent the cancelled property. If the cancelled property is re-rented for the original lease amount, tenant will receive a refund of the payment made less $500, reservation fee, applicable taxes, elected fees and the trip insurance premium. Refunds will be made within 60 days after receipt of the first paid deposit due on new reservations, on same property, same rental period, and same rental rate. Owner has no control over the VRBO traveler service fee. For refunds of that fee, the guest must contact VRBO. Please see Trip Insurance Protection available.

SURVEILLIANCE: There are surveillance cameras located on the exterior of the property. There are no cameras located inside the cottage. The surveillance cameras overlook the parking areas, exterior entry doors and pool, and are installed primarily for deterrence and monitoring purposes when the property is not rented or is not occupied by the property owner. Tampering with the cameras in any way is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal of all guests from the property and forfeiture of all amounts paid.

ABOUT HOLDEN BEACH: Welcome to Holden Beach, North Carolina, where family values and old fashioned fun are still a part of your vacation. Holden Beach has a very small commercial area on the island. That point is considered by many to be a key reason to keep them coming back year after year. While there are limited commercial establishments on the island, everything one could desire is located within a short driving distance.

The causeway leading to the island contains numerous specialty stores and shops, and the Town of Shallotte just 10 minutes away has several chain grocery and department stores that provide all the necessities. Wilmington and Myrtle Beach are only 35-45 minutes away and if you can't find what you're looking for there, it doesn't exist.

There are over 125 superb golf courses within a one-hour drive from Holden Beach. Courses range from very challenging to user-friendly for golfers who don't always hit the ball where they want it to go. The Myrtle Beach area is perhaps the best region in the United States to find a course just right.

Boating, fishing and hiking the island are very popular activities. Shell hunters can find so many that the kids will fill up the car when they return home. The island is a sea turtle habitat and during the hatching season (May to October) those who don't mind staying up late at night can witness one of nature's most interesting pleasures – watching hundreds of small sea turtles "boil' out of the sand and marching to the ocean.

There is no other North Carolina barrier island like Holden Beach. If you're looking for low commercial impact, and a friendly family-oriented atmosphere, you have come to the right place.
