After arriving tired from long plane flights, 3 of us checked into this flat which we rented due to its proximity to ExCel Convention Center. The place was very run down with peeling paint, non locking windows, and sticky kitchen floor. Exhausted we went to bed as sleep is very important to us on business. The first night the heat stopped working in the middle of the night as did the hot water. After awakening to a cold apartment we were shown how to reset the boiler. The boiler went out 6 more times the next day. After dealing with the many shortcomings we decided to leave and find more suitable accommodations. The owner is nice enough but the place needs a lot of work.

We are proud partners of Home Away and have 5-star review from all of our guests. This guest sent in a colleague 3 hours before the check-in time, without announcement. Our check-in policy states 3pm and after. However, on the day of arrival, a guest turned up at 12pm and said she was checking in at our accommodation, unannounced. This was not the guest we were expecting but it turned up that she was a colleague of the one who booked! We found them a suitable and comfortable place to rest, while the place was made ready for our 3pm Check-in time.
We even provided MacDonalds lunch for them while they waited for the one who actually booked the place to turn up 3 hours later, at no additional charge.
The heating and hot water system works but the guest didn't know how to turn it on despite instructions and sending someone to reset it to full working capacity.
We have 80% occupancy rate at our accommodation due to its proximity to ExCel and the comfort we provide. Occasionally we do get guests who have a chip on their shoulder but we welcome all.
We continually make improvements and invest in equipment, cleaning and maintenance , in order to ensure the best experience for our guests.

Handy and great value
Five minutes walk to the Excel centre makes this a great base for events there, especially for a group taking part in something and looking for overnight accommodation. Good clean house and comfortable. Parking space a definite plus!

Nice place
The house was nice and spacious and the location was good too. It's close to a DLR station, which makes it easier to get into Central London. We were in a hurry to book the house as it was pretty last minute decision for us, so we didn't go through the advertisement carefully. There are 2 double beds and one single bed (as is mentioned in the listing). That makes it suitable for 5 people to sleep. I think the advertisement mentioned 'sleeps 7 people' (at least when I made the booking), so two people had to use the spare mattress and sleep on the floor (the living room is spacious enough, so that was not a problem). Also, the only mirrors that are available in the house are one each in the toilets (two in total), so it is a bit tricky if you are a large group and trying to get ready at the same time. There were no ingredients in the kitchen (no oil, sugar etc: things that were provided in other places we stayed at during our trip, so we had to get every little thing from the nearby Tesco but I guess that's okay). Apart from that, it was a comfortable place to stay with facilities provided (the table fans were such a relief in this summer heat!). Doug is very helpful and was quick to respond to any questions I had. Grateful to him for having accepted my booking even at such a short notice. Overall, a comfortable stay.

Shruti and guests were great. There is an inflatable bed that sleeps 2 more people (making it 7), with linens and pillows which were not used by Shruti. We usually provide cooking ingredients like sugar, oil, tea and coffee to our guests. But some guests frown upon it and often say it is unnecessary as they will not use any opened sugar container or used cooking oil from other guests. That is why we stopped providing them, but we will start to provide these from now on.
A larger mirror has now been installed in the bathroom and in each room.
Shruti's booking was last minute but we managed to provide an excellent customer experience for her and the family, which was great. I am sure they had good fun, staying with us. Grateful to have had you as guest Shruti. Don't forget to recommend us to your friends and family.

Nice place to stay in London
The house was clean, located in a quiet neighborhood. In the backyard we enjoyed our breakfasts and in the evenings a glass of wine and nice talks.
The DLR is only 5 minutes walk away as well as the cable-car. There's the grocery store, too. It takes about 30 minutes to get into the centre of London.
Doug is a great host, always available when we needed assistance. A good idea might be to ask Doug for a second key before arriving, if needed.
If you are not familiar with boilers you should ask Doug to show you when checking-in.
For checking-out we just had to leave the keys and close the door.
If we'd travel again to London we'd book this house again.

Last minute booking...Doug was very accomodating to last minute requirements
My 3 mates and I stayed for 1 night to attend an event at Olympic Park. Property served it's purpose very well. Downstairs was very comfortable, there was parking for 1 car.
I had the sofa and slept well and my mates said beds were comfortable. My only critique which in no way is a fault of property or Doug is on our particular stay there was a shindig next door which went on a until 4
Not that it made a difference to us as we were up anyway!!!
