Leuca is located in the extreme part of the heel of Italy (Punta Ristola), where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian Sea, Punta Meliso on whose promontory rises the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Leuca and the lighthouse built in the mid-1800s.
It is a very varied tourist resort in its conformation, in a stretch of coast where cliffs and sandy coves alternate. The Adriatic part is characterized above all by high cliffs rich in natural caves that can be visited by sea, while the Ionian part is characterized by low cliffs and wide white sandy beaches.
