About this property
Character apartment with independent entrance in a beautiful quiet village
Ptit Chateau is the studio - townhouse located on the ground floor of a 300 year old property in the traditional provencal hilltop village of Ventabren.
20 minutes away from the heart of Aix, from the Marseille airport and the train station, half-way between Marseille and Avignon, 45 min drive from the seaside, and one hour away from legendary Luberon and Camargues, Ptit Chateau is well-placed. You may either choose to spend a couple of days in the peaceful and authentic surroundings before hopping on your flight or train, or stay long term to discover the region in our spacious studio that is equipped to a high standard.
The studio has a separate entrance. It is quiet and air-conditioned naturally thanks to its thick stone walls. Cool in summer and very well heated in winter Ptit Chateau welcomes guests all year round. We renovated our townhouse with love and care and respect to the traditions of provencal architecture and style. We fell under the charm of the house and the village, and we are sure so will you.
Within 20 minutes you may reach Marseille airport, TGV train station or the historical center of Aix-en-Provence. You may find the free parking spots easily in the village. The studio is fully equipped and suitable for the short-term or long-term rent.
The kitchen contains oven and microvawe, induction plates, a standart size refrigerator, cofee machine, electrical kettle and a toaster. The bathroom with italian shower has all the basics for your stay: shampoo, soap, towels and a fan. You may find iron and the ironing board in the closet of the living room.
There is a double bed in a bedroom area, and a single real bed in a bedroom area that serves as a canape when not used as a bed.
There is a little terrace outdoors where you may put 2 chairs and enjoy the views of the quiet pedestrian street, sip your morning cofee or read a book.
There is no private parking, however there is plenty of free parking spots all around the village, and two public parking lots.

About the host
Hosted by Victoria Lebedeva
I am a real estate agent, passionate about ancient homes. I was born and grew up in Moscow, city where the the historical center is composed of few streets, maybe that's why I value architectural heritage so much. I met my future husband in Los Angeles, and then we moved together to London. My husband was born and raised in Paris. His family was coming to Provence during holidays, and it was his childhood dream come true when he received a job offer in the South of France. Our next dream come true was to find and buy a 300 year old townhouse in the heart of one of the most picturesque villages we have ever seen. We live here with our 8 year old son, and a cat, who despite all the interdictions may choose to pay you a visit when you are in the studio.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I bought our house three years ago. We discovered Ventabren by chance. We felt in love with the village, and dreamed about living in our own house here since then. We also wanted to offer seasonal rentals appartments to the guests of the region. Once we saw the house with its gorgeous vaulted ceiling room on the ground floor we wanted to stay here forever. It took us several years to study our renovation options, and styles in order to come up with the concept of the independent studio. The renovation work is over, and we are ready to host you in the house we feel passionate about.
The studio is a part of our home, each square meter of which we adore, it is so much more then an extra income for us.
Every day we feel lucky to live in a fairy tale, and we are happy to share some of the magic with you.

What makes this property unique
We are proud of every inch of the house. The cast iron rounded door, the voulted ceiling, the kitchen made by the local craftsman. Our friends call it "the little castle", and it feels quite like that. You step out of the studio in a narrow pedestrian street of our village. Most of days it is very quiet, while sometimes you may come across a bride supported by her bridemaids struggling on her hills on the stone pavement to get to the top of the street, where the city hall and the church may be found, and sometimes you may walk in the crowd of the schoolchildren going up the hill to rehearse their end-of-the-year concert, chatting and laughing on the way. The locals most likely will greet you with "bonjour", and walking through the village, or even just to the parking, you will enjoy the stunning views and architecture. We don't have clock in the house - the church bells tell us the time.
