The Resting Nest is a charming 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage situated in beautiful Grand Beach, along the shores of Lake Michigan. Just a a few steps from the beach, this cottage is an ideal spot to create beautiful memories with family and friends all summer long. Whether you are spending your day with the sand between your toes at the beach, or splashing around in the private heated in ground pool, the good times are endless at the Resting Nest. The cottage is just two short blocks to the playground, golf course, tennis and basketball courts and a short drive to other activities such as restaurants, wineries, breweries and shopping. Enjoy dinner poolside and then scoot over to the lake to catch one of the best sunsets you've ever seen. We look forward to having you here!

Annual Trip

This was year #5 of my family of five staying at this home for a long weekend. We all very much look forward to this trip every year. The house & location are both perfect!! We can't wait to return again!

Another Great Stay

This was our fourth stay at this property. We absolutely love it - the house & location!! The house is super clean with plenty of space for our family of 5 and the kids love the pool! We'll be back :)

Perfect Quiet Spot close to beach

Our family of 5 enjoyed our first stay here! We loved how cute and clean the house was. The pool was a major hit with the kids and the beach was walking distance from the house. The beach was a little rocky but our 3 kids still had a great time exploring and swimming. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood too! We'll be back again!

Awesome property/community

House was just as described. Everything we needed was there. Close to restaurants and we lucked out on the weather. The pool was awesome with water temp comfortable. The beach is super close and all u need for the beach and pool is in the pool house. Would recommend and plan to come back!

This quaint little beach community is wonderful. The home is so charming, clean, and cozy. The pool was warm when we arrived, and the lake access was close by. Gina was wonderful and provided a great list of everything you could want to know about the area. Excellent rental! Would absolutely come back!

A Piece of Paradise

The Resting Nest was a fabulous place to enjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline , the serene and peaceful surroundings of trees and rolling hills and a relaxing , well-appointed pool and amenities to swim and soak up the sun . We had a low key , rejuvenating stay and loved every minute of it! Accommodations were very comfortable, the owner was incredibly helpful and easy to reach and the large yard, complete with a fire pit was so nice !

Great Place to stay to Explore the Parks

Great house in a great location! We visited this house in Grand Beach to explore the Dunes national and state parks and really enjoyed this location. The area was great for early runs, the little beach in walking distance was great for sunsets, and the setup of the house worked well for us. There were a ton of pool inflatables and toys that led to hours of fun. My son loved the wooden bingo set. I would definitely stay again.

Beach getaway

This place was all we could have asked for. In an adorable little neighborhood with very short walk to the beach, playground, golf & tennis. Beach was great and best of all a private pool too! We would do both just about every day. Short drive to New Buffalo restaurants & shopping. Super comfortable home, everything we could have asked for…it was a great find and hope to come back next year!

Perfect!

Gina was an amazing host! The property was in perfect order, clean and nice. The private pool was truly great. Even though the weather was cold (60's), we were able to swim comfortably in the HEATED pool (you get control of the pool thermostat!) I highly recommend this property. We can't wait to return.

1st trip to Michigan

Excellent! This was our first time in Michigan and staying here. We loved the house and the location. The pool was amazing and it’s a block to the beach. The neighborhood was really quiet. The only visitors were a doe and her 2 baby deers. New Buffalo is minutes away with great food and shops and a great beach too. Plus we could always pop back across the border to Indiana to Michigan city for the dunes or shops or food as well. We’re already thinking about our next visit!

3rd Stay

This was our 3rd stay at the Resting Nest and we had another amazing weekend! There was a slight issue with the pool heater on our first day, but Gina was at the home and on the phone with the repair guy within minutes of me sending her a message. The heater was fixed and we were able to enjoy the pool again the next afternoon! We are hoping to return again next year!

The perfect getaway

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at the Rest Nest. The house is adorable and had everything you need for fun and relaxation. We spent the days swimming in the heated pool, walked steps to Lake Michigan to watch the sunsets, had bonfires at night and played games til bedtime. A few nights we took the short drive to New Buffalo and had dinner out and even hit the casino once. We realized the first morning that there wasn't a toaster. I let Gina know and she was at the door with a toaster along with rolls and bagels and cream cheese. She also texted me as we were driving home and let me know I had left behind a few items in a drawer. She mailed them out to me that day. Great experience on every level. I'll be back next year.

The perfect summer getaway

Our stay in Grand Beach was the best way to end our summer vacation. The house was just as described, incredibly clean, and stocked with essentials. The rental was missing a baby crib when we arrived and I reached out to Gina and she had one dropped off within the hour. It was the perfect little vacation super close to the very quiet beach. We spent the mornings at the beach and then the afternoons at the pool. The backyard was just right for our family with young children. The front yard was huge and gave the kids lots of room to run around. I especially loved how much storage was in the primary bedroom for all of our stuff. Will absolutely consider staying here again. Perfection!

We absolutely loved this house. This was our 5th year vacationing in Michigan and this was one of our favorites. The house was so beautiful and clean. It had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful for the kids. Just the right height for our 6 year old who enjoyed being able to touch and keep his head above the water. It was perfectly heated to my liking as well! The location was awesome too, a few houses away from a little beach perfect for collecting rocks and watching the sunset. A short walk to a playground area that also has volleyball nets, basketball courts and tennis. It was only a 5 minute drive into the town of New Buffalo. And Gina was so great to with. She had a basket of snacks upon our arrival which was nice. Communication was great. We had a few minor issues and she addressed them right away. We will for sure be back!

Clean Even To My High Standards!

More than anything I was impressed with the absolute cleanliness of this property. I am a clean freak and this was the first VRBO I walked around barefoot - it was THAT clean. Very impressed! The house was well appointed, I loved the soft towels, the comfortable bedding and little touches like soaps and essentials. The property manager, Gina, was amazing and communicated with us at every turn. When we arrived the WiFi wasn't working and she texted us even at 11:00 pm working tirelessly to resolve the problem with Comcast. She also greeted us when we arrived and let us know she lived down the street in case we needed anything. Since I was staying alone with my teenage son that was so comforting. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Grand Beach! The house was perfect for our family of four. The layout was ideal, including a great primary bedroom that gave the adults their own space to unwind. The living room was cozy and comfortable. The pool was terrific and the outdoor lighting gave a welcoming night time ambiance. The beach toy selection was solid and our kiddos loved pulling the wagon of supplies to the beach. The walk to the beach was definitely less than 5 minutes -- even closer than we had anticipated. The beach is on the smaller side but was not at all crowded. The sunset views were indeed great. The house is also a reasonable walk to the playground. The yard across the driveway is large and we even saw a deer come through. Good food was a short drive away, and we got carryout several times. We came from central Indiana and were pleased to have found such a gem without having to travel farther north. (We had one issue but Gina handled it immediately and to our full satisfaction.) One of our very best VRBO experiences. We hope to be back!

Best lake cottage!

Our family loved this home! The private pool was heated upon our arrival and had every imaginable pool float and toy waiting for us. My kids loved the basket of snacks and goodies in the kitchen. We were a close walk to the playground and even closer walk to the beach stair/access. The provided beach wagon, chairs, towels and toys were greatly appreciated. The beach was small and uncrowded. A great place for your kids to collect rocks or watch the sun set. The house has a very large side yard and a stocked fire pit across the driveway… perfect for the s’more utensils in the kitchen! The house was super clean, beds were comfy. We don’t need this any more, but the second full bath would have easily fit a portable crib/pack-n-play. You literally only need to pack yourself, clothes, and food. Everything else was provided! PLENTY of toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dishwasher and laundry detergent, shower and pool towels, games for rainy days, extra sheets, salt/pepper, etc. It was only an 8 minute drive to the shops and restaurants on the main street of New Buffalo. Would absolutely stay here again!
