Location and Property not for "Everybody"

Sergio is a perfect gentlemen. Communicates well and is very responsive. The property itself is gated and relatively safe, but if you are with children, or a female, this location is not for you. The location is very much in the hood of Boca Chica. I was disappointed that the pool was not clean, the seats around the pool are old and rusted. Though, surprisingly the freezer and fridge worked well, based on appearance alone, I did not feel comfortable using the stove. As a single, street savvy person who speaks Spanish, I was not concerned, but for someone who does not match my demographic, I wouldn't recommend this venue.

Thank you for your review, I'm sorry that you didn't feel comfortable, I would just like to point out that the pool chairs cannot be rusted because they are made of fiberglass and not iron. Anyway, thank you for your review even if it is not precise and a little dubious, we will try to improve according to your opinion

Mooie plek, maar wat een armoede erom heen....

Vakantiewoning was oké! De behulpzame eigenaar en de prachtige tuin maakte het verblijf aangenamer dan de omgeving deed vermoeden. In Boca Chica heerst er grote armoede en dat merk je aan veel dingen, bijvoorbeeld de diversiteit van voedingsmiddelen. Voor ons was wat dat betreft geen aanrader. Het ergste was echter dat de eigenaar zijn huursom niet overgemaakt kreeg van Homeaway. De mensen zijn daar zoals ik al aangaf erg arm en dus is een maandhuur voor hen echt het verschil tussen armoede en redelijk kunnen leven. We hebben zelf ook aangedrongen op betaling. Vanuit de Engelse helpdesk werd ons te kennen gegeven dat we ons er niet mee mochten bemoeien (privacy?!) De Nederlandse dames waren wel meelevend maar kregen van de financiële afdeling ook geen ondersteuning. Het is nu 1 februari en nog steeds heeft de eigenaar/verhuurder zijn geld niet gekregen (wij hadden dat al in januari 2018 overgemaakt naar Homeaway voor een vakantie die liep van 11 december '19 tot 8 januari '20.) Wij vonden dat Homeaway door fouten en/of onwil onze vakantie er zeker niet leuker op heeft gemaakt!

Goedemorgen Jan en Femmie, bedankt voor alles, je bent zeer aangename gasten geweest en met veel plezier heb ik je hier in mijn huis gehad. Helaas, zoals je hier zei, is het niet hoe de toerist de realiteit van het leven ziet, het is totaal anders dan hoe het te laten zien. Bedankt voor uw steun met Homeaway, helaas nog steeds vandaag 2 februari 2020. Na 2 maanden heb ik mijn geld nog niet ontvangen voor de promotie van de uitputtende reactie van Homeaway voor de oplossing van de zaak. Dit is een trieste en slechte ervaring, ik ben erg bitter. Groeten en een knuffel voor jou en Femmie.
