About this property

Spacious 3 bedroom longhouse in an idyllic location above Loch Broom

This beautiful, airy, open plan longhouse is situated on an idyllic secluded property 13 miles from Ullapool on the south shore of Loch Broom: the water is just a 5 minute walk away! The house is tastefully decorated and furnished with many original artworks to enjoy from paintings and textiles to ceramics. The perfect location if you are looking for rugged, authentic Highland scenery and enjoy walking. Alternatively, the peace and setting make it an inspiring place to read, write or paint. The house boasts an impressive library of books.
A short walk away is the idyllic shoreline and Loggie Bay with its sailing and working boats, and a stunning view of Ullapool across the water. This is an ideal place for kayaking, sailing and swimming if you are not afraid of cold water!
The property is owned by a traditional wooden boatbuilder who lives in a 150 year old croft house on this 2 acre plot. You are likely to see boats around awaiting restoration as this is a working yard. There is also a studio with a resident painter. The land has been managed to retain its wildness and as a result is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. An amazing variety of birds can be seen and deer are regular visitors.
The house features easy mobility access, a large bright open plan living and kitchen area all with underfloor heating. There are three private bedrooms, one ensuite, and a wet room. There is a cosy upstairs studio/sitting area for relaxing in front of a film, tackling a jigsaw, drawing or painting at the desk or watching the night sky. The house is located at the end of a private, unmade track and has space for parking 4 cars. Luxury towels and linens are all provided.

A hidden gem
We have just enjoyed an amazing week in Loggie by the side of Loch Broom. Mark and Tamsin were fabulous hosts, the cottage was immaculate and stocked with everything from Lego for the kids, board games, tunnocks tea cakes, through to dishwasher tablets and art supplies. A truly beautiful location and a wonderful base to explore this wild landscape. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

Thrilling to find, hard to leave, impossible to forget
The only reason for a five star rating is that six or more stars are not possible – Tamsin and Mark would deserve them hands down. Friendly, helpful and with great tips (including a market with local products and one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen) they fit the stunning guest house so well. Always close to answer questions but never intrusive, just perfect. Same is true about the place itself that could not be better equipped or furnished – a perfect homebase for exploring the surrounding area. Ullapool some 20 minutes away offers everything to replenish your stocks and great restaurants – too bad we could not visit the Summer islands by boat due to the windy weather. Good reason to come back though :) Biggest plus might be the location of the guest house – the peace and quiet of „the end of the world“ settles in a few minutes after arrival. Friendly dogs to cuddle with complete the picture. Would love to stay here again, one week was not enough, Tapadh leibh airson a h-uile rud!

Absolutely brilliant and a stunning location!!
We stayed here with our family and friends (6 altogether!) There was loads of space for us all with the kids using the upstairs space as a room for them to be able to play.. we also had access down to the Loch were we swam in the evening! Absolutely brilliant location and space - perfect base to explore the west coast.. thank you Tamsin and Mark for a perfect stay..
