More information
The space

Easthaven is a VisitScotland 4 star rated holiday home; a well equipped, tastefully decorated, four apartment family house, ideal to make you feel at home. It is located on the quiet High Street of this picture postcard fishing village and yet to the rear has a quiet, large private garden suntrap with beautiful south facing views over the Firth of Forth. Having been in the family for nearly 70 years, the interior is a pleasing mixture of traditional and modern.
Linen and towels are included as is the electricity and gas central heating/hot water supplied by a combi boiler. The lounge has a cosy living flame fire and all windows are double glazed, so it is a perfect retreat in both summer and winter. There is free Unlimited Wireless Broadband. Parking is available at the side of the house. There is ample covered and secure storage in the garden for golf clubs, bicycles, etc.
The room details are as follows:
The Lounge:
Comfortably furnished with a quality three seater/double bed divan, with matching two seater and single sofas, gas living flame log fire, coffee table, nest of tables, corner display cabinet (contains some board games/toys/books), stereo hi-fi with Bluetooth/CD/MP3 auxiliary input (speakers linked/switched to dining kitchen speakers), 32" flat screen TV with Freeview, Amazon Firestick (for catch-up TV), VCR and DVD player. Windows to front and rear with venetian blinds. South facing views to rear gardens and over the Firth of Forth to The Bass Rock and Berwick Law.

The Dining Room/Kitchen:
A modern fitted kitchen with ample storage and counter space, dishwasher, washing machine, separate vented tumble drier, built-under double oven/grill, ceramic hob, fridge with small freezer section, microwave, expresso ground bean and Nespresso pod coffee machines, kettle, toaster, 1 1/2 bowl sink, Hi-Fi as lounge with separate linked/switched stereo speakers and wall mounted 26" TV with Freeview. A good supply of everyday crockery, glasses, cutlery, jugs, mixing bowls and pans is provided. Contains a dining table with six comfortable chairs, again with views out over the Firth of Forth. A heat detector fire alarm is provided for your safety. Ironing facilities are available and a clothes line in the garden allows drying/airing in the fresh sea air.

The Entrance Hall:
Provides access to the lounge, dining room and stairs to first floor bedrooms. Contains ample supply of coat hooks (nearby radiator aids drying of jackets on the rare occasion they get wet) and a large shoe rack. A mains wired smoke detector is provided for your safety. The programmable thermostat for the central heating is located here also, allowing easy temperature adjustment.

The Upper Hall:
At the head of the stairs, provides access to the bedrooms, bathroom and stair to the loft storage area (the garret). Traditionally furnished. A mains wired smoke detector is provided for your safety.

The Master Bedroom:
A large room containing a double bed fitted with an electric blanket. Duvet/linen provided. Bedside cabinets with alarm clock, a dressing table (hairdryer provided), a drawer unit, 15" TV and a full length mirror. Built in wardrobe with ample hanging space. Windows to front and rear, with beautiful views over rear garden, the village, harbour and across the Firth of Forth.

The Second Bedroom:
Again a good sized room containing a double bed and a single bed, both with electric blankets. Duvets/linen provided. Bedside cabinets, full length mirror, dressing table and wardrobe with ample hanging space. Windows to front and rear.

The Bathroom:
A recently fully refurbished panelled bathroom full of character with a slipper bath, separate shower with optional overhead rainfall/drench head or adjustable head, bathroom cabinets, mirror and a shaver point. All towels and bath mats provided.

The Attic Space:
Easy steep stair access for storage of suitcases. Also stores stocks of the likes of toilet roll and dishwasher tablets.

Guest access

The entire property and garden is for your exclusive use. There is ample covered and secure storage in the garden for golf clubs, bicycles, etc.

Interaction with guests

Senga and Iain will be available by phone and e-mail to deal with any questions you have before or during your stay. We have local contacts who can help with emergencies.

Other things to note

The garden is to the rear of the property and faces south over the Firth of Forth, with views to the village harbour, North Berwick and the Bass Rock. It is shielded from easterly, northerly and to some degree westerly winds. The whitewashed walls of the house and outhouses to the east boundary reflect the sun and help create a beautiful sun-trap, which has been enjoyed all year round. Pittenweem has some of the lowest rainfall in the United Kingdom.

The garden is well equipped with furniture. There is a long garden bench against the rear wall of the house, a table and chairs (warmer seasons only) and a cushioned swing/hammock seat (warmer seasons again, cushions stored in outhouse).

The large lawn area is bounded by alpine and rose beds and also provides facilities for clothes drying. There are two outhouses containing garden furniture and some children's push-along toys (used at tenant's risk). There is also a covered passage area leading to the side doors to the parking area - this is useful for storing bikes etc and for unloading/loading the car.

Peaceful getaway
This is the first property we have rented through Home Away and we have been very impressed. The owners, Senga & Iain have been very communicative giving the whole process a personal touch (something missing from larger holiday rental companies). The property is great, very well equipped in a lovely location and we look forward to many return visits.

Amazing and immaculate house. Very well thought out in terms of the accommodation and facilities. Excellent communication from Senga; she made sure we had everything we needed. Pittenweem is lovely, and great place to stay. Great chip shop across the road. ;

Wonderful home in Pittenweem
We enjoyed this home for 2 weeks. Arrival was easy and Senga and lain were wonderful hosts. Pittenweem is a very charming town! Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable and the fireplace was nice to have during rainy weather. The location was very good to be able to do day trips around the area. The fish & chips shop across the street was terrific, as was the Clocktower Café and Cocoa Tree Cafe. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely Easthaven Scotland
We absolutely loved your beautiful home and the village of Pittenweem. Your home was so well equipped. The back yard was a dream world. Everyone we met, made us feel part of the group. It was hard to leave, but it will be easy to return. Thank you thank you. Carol Nivens
