You will find this cozy apartment in one of the outbuildings at Gankelhoeve farm. With your own kitchen and bathroom, and a half separated sleeping area you stay here in peace, just outside the village.
The area is wonderful for walking, within a few minutes you are in the center of 'the village of Roosevelt'.
From here you are within 15 minutes in the beautiful Marquis city Bergen op Zoom, or you are so on the beach, by the sea. Antwerp and Rotterdam can also be reached quickly in about 45 minutes by car.

In the adjacent barn there is also a meeting and training room, with accompanying garden, under the name Gankelhoeve.

Oud-Vossemeer is the village of Roosevelt, the ancestors of the Roosevelt presidents come from here.

Across the street is a playing field for dogs, fenced and with water supply.

Gankelhoeve is a Little Piece of Heaven

We arrived by train and Broekmeijer met us at the train station. Check-in a breeze. The on-line listing is 100+ accurate. Pleasantly spacious. Bed is sleepy time comfortable. Big windows for fresh air and sunshine to make their way into a Dutch storybook farmhouse. A welcome change from the hustle & bustle of Amsterdam. Cute kitchenette that we used as there is a good grocery shop within walking distance. Nicely decorated with traditional meeting modern. Access to washer if needed. Property owners are available should something need to be addressed or to say halo. Location is a countryside setting (and safe) near the idyllic Dutch village of Oud-Vossemeer where the family of the famous Roosevelts once called home. The property owners are a great team and family oriented, Oh! There is a wonderful Roosevelt Restaurant with delicious food, & good wines.. I would recommend having your own transportation to make getting around a bit easier but walking is so do-able. My daughter and I enjoyed our long walks, dinners, and visiting during our stay at Gankelhoeve. Thank you Annechien, and your husband for a truly memorable experience for Amira and myself and sharing your little piece of heaven.

Contact en ontvangst was hartelijk en goed. Huisje (appartement) was ruim, alles aanwezig maar wel erg stoffig door de aanweigheid van hele lange wanden in woonkamer en slaapkamer van houten halve paaltjes. Ziet er gezellig uit maar is niet goed schoon te houden. In de slaapkamer dus ook daarom veel stof en ook omdat het stoffen hemelbed niet stofvrij was, veel stof erop.. erg jammer, zeker als je ook een kind heb die erg op stof rwageert met een hele harde hoest... dit kan echt beter knderhouden worden. De toilet was buiten ons verblijf in een klein voorportaalgje. Waarschijnlijk kan deze gedeelt worden als er meer huurders zijn in de boerderij. Daar waren we nit van op de hoogte en het was rr ook erg koid..... sslaspinnewebben

Weekend weg

We werden heel leuk ontvangen door de eigenaar. Goed geslapen. Leuk losloop veldje voor de honden op loopafstand. Mooie locatie om vanuit daar naar verschillende locaties te gaan. Was wel een beetje donker binnen, vooral als nee van buiten komt. Er waren wel wat kleine dingen die even wat aandacht nodig hadden en dat hebben we ook doorgegeven.

Geräumiges Appartment / Super Hundeurlaub

Wir waren mit unseren zwei Hunden da. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Hundewiese in der Nähe ist der Hammer und alleine darum schon eine Reise Wert. Die Lage ist mitten auf dem Land und schön ruhig. . Allerdings kann man viele schöne Orte in relativ kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto erreichen. Der Lebensmittelladen ist fußläufig in einigen Minuten zu erreichen.

Die Wohnung war nett eingerichtet. Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Gewürze und Kaffeepads vorhanden. Allerdings kleine Mängel wie altes Seifenstück, Mülleimer defekt... Man hat einen schönen freien Blick, allerdings ist der Aussenbereich inkl. Sitzgruppe ausbaufähig. Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Leider unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt

Wir haben uns sehr auf diesen Urlaub gefreut und waren positiv überrascht das wir mit zwei Hunden (Deutsche Dogge und Rhodesian Ridgeback) die Unterkunft buchen konnten.Allerdings lagen wir so ländlich das alles aber auch wirklich alles nur dem Auto zu erreichen war. Selbst der Strand naheliegend in der Beschreibung musste mit dem Auto angefahren werden (20 min).Es gab keine Lokale oder eine einfache Bude mit Pommes etc. wie es erwartungsgemäß in den Niederlanden üblich ist.In 6 Tagen sind wir im Umkreis von 100 km - 600 km mit dem Auto gefahren um überhaupt i.was zu Unternehmen.Diese Unternehmungen sahen aber leider immer gleich aus, immer kleine Städtchen die außer ein oder zwei Lokale, in denen leider keine wirklichen Speisen ( gegen Hunger) sondern nur kleine Snacks angeboten wurden, zu bieten hatten. Auch der angepriesene Markt im Flyer war ein Flop. 30 Minuten Mal wieder mit dem Auto für 4 private Kindertrödel Stände und ein Lokal. Von Wochenmarkt so wie es aus der Beschreibung in der Broschüre schließen lässt nichts zu sehen. Parkmöglichkeiten in den umliegenden Städtchen waren eine Katastrophe. Wir partkten dann in einer Gasse die keine Verbotsschilder aufwies. Wurden dann beim zurück kehren von einem Bewohner darauf aufmerksam gemacht das wir dort nicht hätten parken dürfen, Glück gehabt haben, hätte die Polizei das gesehen wäre ein Bußgeld von 110 Euro fällig gewesen. Wenn keine Beschilderung oder ausgewiesene Parkplätze vorhanden sind, macht die Freizeit Gestaltung auch wiederum schwierig. Der Trip nach Renesse an den Strand war auch wieder mit einer 45 minütigen Autofahrt verbunden. !!Fahrräder!! gab es nicht und waren auch nicht zu leihen im ortsansässigen Fahrradladen.Nur auf einem Campingplatz der auch wieder 30 Minuten Autofahrt beinhaltete.Supermärkte - Autofahrt Lidl zum Beispiel war 20 Minuten entfernt und bei einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit überall von 60 km/h können es lange 20 Minuten werden.Sparmarkt den es in dem kleinen Ort gibt, zu Fuß 15 min entfernt, ist überteuert.Leider wurden wir am ersten Tag auch nicht von unseren Gastgebern begrüßt, da diese selbst im Urlaub waren. Alles mit Google Maps und zu Fuß erkundet. Nach drei Tagen kannten wir Straßen und Bewohner 😂 Die Sauberkeit! ließ auch zu wünschen übrig. Kaffemaschine mit Resten und Gebrauchsspuren vom Vorgänger. Duschkopf und Badematte müssten Mal getauscht werden! Teemaschine voller Schimmel! Wasserhahn tropfte.Die Sauberkeit ließ wirklich zu wünschen übrig. Nie mehr

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung in ruhiger Lage

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön. Toll eingerichtet und ausreichend groß. Lage ist sehr gut. Wenn man draußen sitzt kann man aufs Feld gucken, man ist aber auch in ein paar Minuten in den Ort gelaufen. Für Ausflüge nach Brüssel oder an den Strand ebenfalls sehr gut geeignet. Die Vermieter sind super nett und der Check-In war absolut unkompliziert. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Es waren sehr schöne Ostertage in der sehr gut ausgestatteten Wohnung - alles da, was man braucht und alles perfekt sauber. Die Wohnung ist schön eingerichtet! Es gibt viel zu Entdecken in der Umgebung, Spielplatz und Hundeplatz waren toll. Die Oosterschelde und auch das Meer sind nicht weit. Sowohl Empfang als auch Checkout waren sehr freundlich und problemlos :-) vielen Dank!

Gemütlich und Hundefreundlich

Von der Buchung bis zum Check-out hat alles sehr gut funktioniert. Wir sind freundlich empfangen worden und die Gastgeber sind sehr angenehm und herzlich. Es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht, inklusive Hundenapf, Kinderspielzeug und eine gute Auswahl an Büchern in verschiedenen Sprachen. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr geräumig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und auch unsere Hündin hat den Aufenthalt genossen. Die Wohnung ist etwas abgelegen, eignet sich aber hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt, um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Der Ortskern ist fußläufig schnell erreichbar, dort gibt es einen Supermarkt und wir haben im Huys van Roosevelt sehr gut gegessen. Ein paar Schritte von der Wohnung entfernt gibt es einen gepflegten, komplett eingezäunten Hundespielplatz. Dort haben wir ein paar nette Menschen und ihre Hunde getroffen und hatten sehr viel Spaß. Unser Aufenthalt war leider nur über ein Wochenende, aber wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die Wohnung nur weiterempfehlen!

Entspannter Aufenthalt in Oud-Vossemeer/Zeeland

Wir haben eine knappe Woche in Oud-Vossemeer verbracht und haben die Zeit in der Ferienwohnung genossen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Von Oud-Vossemer kommt man relativ schnell zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten in Zeeland und hat gleichzeitig eine schöne Zeit auf dem Land.

Prima verblijf!

Wij hebben met wat vrienden dit verblijf gehuurd voor een weekje. Het is rustige plek waar niemand last heeft van harde muziek en luidruchtige mensen. De eigenaren zijn bijzonder vriendelijk ook bij onverwachte situaties. Voor een weekje weg van alles is het een prima verblijf!
