Small Alvitano shelter

You are welcome in the splendid Valle di Comino, unique in its kind for traditions and attractions. Rich in natural and anthropological beauty to see and events to follow, the valley will offer you unforgettable moments.
We are located on the Lazio side of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise and of the Lago di Posta Fibreno Nature Reserve.
The house is immersed in the tranquility of the valley between Alvito and San Donato Val Comino.
On foot, by bike or on horseback you can take peaceful walks along the marked paths of the valley.
We are also near the municipal swimming pool of San Donato and a little further from those of Gallinaro and a 10-minute drive from the Atina riding center.
Ours is a detached house on two levels with 4 beds.
Ground floor: equipped kitchen and sofa bed for two people.
Upper floor: double bedroom and bathroom.
Services offered: free washing machine (not in the building), iron, TV, sheets, towels, hair dryer, toilet paper, hot water, parking, small garden.
To welcome you will find sunny and discreet people who will not fail to make you feel at home while leaving you with all the privacy you need.

Out of the way place near Alvito

We enjoyed spending a week here. The place was charming and definitely tucked away down a quiet street surrounded by mountains. Our host Maria was easy to contact. We only met her once as she was mostly out of town when we were there but she was gracious enough to let us see the 4 alpacas up close and feed them. The apartment is 2 stories with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Comfortable enough. Downstairs had the kitchen area and a couch tucked under the stairs. Everything was fine for our stay. Only recommendations/comments for future guests to know is: 1. The stairs creak quite loudly when walking on them. This would really only be an issue if someone was sleeping and another was using the stairs. Maybe some corkboard or something would help dampen the noise. 2. There is a street light just outside the entrance area that stays on all night. Id recommend to guests to bring an eyemask if a light sleeper. There is a curtain but its light material. We used a blanket to help cover up the window bit maybe a black out cirtain would be better for this. 3. Unfortunately we had a bunch of rain during our stay and therefore kept windows closed which made the inside a bit stuffy. Only the kitchen window had a screen to keep bugs away. Additional screens for the other windows of possible would be a great addition. The place is quiet which is great but you will need a car to get to anyplace. Alvito is the closest town about a 5 min drive away. Many great small villages in the area.

Beautiful location!

The location is beautiful and peaceful with the mountains all around. A short drive (or electric bike ride!) will bring you to many tiny towns up in the mountains. Also very close to the Abruzzo national park. We loved it here!!!

Wonderful location in nature, yet accessible to many places, spotless, welcoming hosts

After hours of research, i settled on this place due to it’s beauty and proximity to nature as well as accessibility to easily travel to the eastern Italian coast. The host greeted me with a hot comforting fire in the stove. The place is extremely well set up and the gift package of goodies came in handy. Although this place offered all i was looking for in terms of being so close to Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo, i was amazed by the nearby grocery store that was stocked better than any I’ve seen in the US. Best of both worlds here. Enclosed in the peace and quiet of nature as well as the most comfortable of beds, sleep was the best i had during my three week stay in Italy! Maria gave me the unforgettable time in her garden to feed the alpacas. I will always remember the generosity and kindness of Maira and her father the night I was stranded in the park. The car rental agency had not responded to my over three hours calling for road side assistance, yet Maria and her father made immediate offers to help…. And they did’!! Not only did they come out to help, they drove me back to their place, fed me….. and of MOST value to me, was that they shared a small piece of their fascinating family history. To be sure, they were always there if I needed anything, yet were never intrusive. I hope to return this year, and will plan more time there.

Piacevole soggiorno

Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti della struttura in generale e ci ha fatto molto piacere trovarla ben pulita e accogliente. La signora Maria e la sua famiglia si sono dimostrati molto disponibili e gentili e hanno saputo rispettare la nostra privacy comportandosi con discrezione ed educazione. Consiglio vivamente a chiunque cerchi un posto dove rigenerarsi e dal quale si possono raggiungere dei bei posti a contatto con la natura.

Splendida casa con tutti i confort, a cavallo tra tre regioni.

Splendida casa in pietra e calorosa accoglienza

L'abitazione in pietra locale é stata recentemente ristrutturata con grande amore dai proprietari che accolgono gli ospiti con uguale cura e attenzione. Un posto prrfetto per una fuga dalla città alla ricerca di calma e bei paesaggi . Il vicino borgo antico di San Donato Val Comino ospita bar e locali frequentati sino a tarda notte.. Dalla casa si può anche partire per piacevoli passeggiate in bici in mezzo ad una campagna perfettamente mantenuta. Maria ed il marito colmano di intelligenti e discrete attenzioni l'ospite.

Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gemütlich. Die Vermieterin und ihre Familie sind sehr freundlich. Sie kümmern sich um das Wohl ihrer Gäste. Kein Wunsch blieb offen. Die Lage eignet sich hervorragend, um viele tolle Ausflüge zu machen. In diesem Urlaub kam keine Langeweile auf. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Perfetta per una rilassante vacanza in Ciociaria

Siamo appena tornati da una piacevolissima vacanza di due settimane al "Piccolo rifugio Alvitano": la casa si trova in campagna, in un posto tranquillo ed è completamente accessoriata, ordinata e pulita; è comoda per poter visitare molti borghi della Ciociaria. La casa è adatta per proprietari di cani, con un giardino recintato. Un grazie a Maria e alla sua splendida famiglia per l'ottima ospitalità.

Luogo molto bello e silenzioso

Sono stati 2 settimane Super!!! Casa molta curata,e in ottima condizione. Pulita al massimo e adrezzata con tutto quello che uno ha bisogna. Luogo da Favola e molto silenzioso. la proprietaria Maria una Persona molto simpatica e sempre a disposizione per ogni cosa. Da altre Case ti sveglia il Gallo,qui da Maria ti sveglia un Falco,un spettacolo.da non dimenticare Trilly e Cleo i due gatti dolce della Casa :-) Io penso che ci ritorniamo sicuro. Grazie Maria che ci hai ospitato al top!!!

Ideale per il relax

Luogo incantevole. Casa molto bella, pulita e dotata di ogni comfort. La padrona di casa davvero gentile, disponibile e discreta. Meraviglioso il lago di Posta Fibreno distante pochi chilometri. Consigliato a tutti quelli che hanno bisogno di relax.

Una settimana ad Alvito

Casa nuovissima ed accuratamente arredata, tranquillissima; la Sig.ra Maria gentile e premurosa. Ad Alvito ci sono sentieri per passeggiate nella valle, e anche quelli del Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo Lazio Molise, raggiungibili in 15 minuti d'auto. Tutto molto bello

Beautiful apartment, lovely quiet setting, kind and friendly host

We stayed for 3 nights at Maria’s apartment and it was lovely! We used the kitchen which was very welll stocked, and we slept very soundly here because it was so quiet and on a road withou much traffic. We had a car and were visiting family in San Danato Valdicamino so it really was the perfect location. Very short drive to S.D. Valdicamino, easy drive to Alvito, about 30mins to Cassino, and 3 hrs to Leonardo Davinci airport. Sparkling clean. I think if visiting in the winter the apartment might be a bit cold. We had a great stay and hope to be back!

Prima volta in valcomino. Soggiorno splendido, posti meravigliosi gente molto ospitale.

Gentilezza e cortesia nonchè la pulizia della proprietaria sono impagabili. Casa appena ristrutturata arredata con con cura. Io ed il mio compagno ci siamo trovati molto bene e torneremo sicuramente.
