About this property
Blinn's Landing: Historic Riverfront Log Cabin, Dock & Mountain Views. Dogs OK!
Book early for beautiful days on the river!
Enjoyed and cherished by family and friends since 1951, this rustic log cabin, located at the confluence of the Spring River and Deschutes River, adjacent to Sunriver Resort, offers a relaxing getaway with sparkling natural springs and picturesque mountain & river views. Book now and enjoy an idyllic retreat at this coveted six-acre homestead surrounded by the Deschutes National Forest and boasting 780 feet of private pristine riverfront perfect for fly fishing, boating, floating, and swimming. Built by Pete Gassner, master log home craftsman of his time (using only a two-bit axe!) this historic log cabin provides a serene reprieve with two decks, wood burning fireplace, large picture window, claw foot bath/shower, washer & dryer, full kitchen, and all the amenities you may need for preparing your catch of the day.
On waterfront pleasures
Ramble to the dock to launch your stand-up paddle board, river tube, kayak, boat, raft, or to use our 14ft canoe. Soak up the sun, fish, or stage a full moon canoe ride. Marvel at the volcanic aquifer natural springs babbling among towering aspen and brilliant lupine. Stroll through the forest on pine needle covered walking trails that meander along the banks of the glistening crystal clear Spring River. Float to Besson Day Use Area and walk the river trail back to the cabin. No car needed to enjoy this family friendly river float. Kayak or canoe the Deschutes River part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
On the comforts
Settle in the Cabin master bedroom with one queen bed donned with a down comforter and a Pendleton blanket. Enjoy the common living space with a vaulted ceiling, large picture window, fireplace, antique reading chair, sofa, breakfast window table, and a dining table set. An additional space includes a writing table, world travel books, and two twin beds. Tuck away in the back bedroom with two queen beds, one full futon bed, pine dresser & bench, and a children's book library. Relax with an evening movie using the Smart TV with your personal streaming services, play board games, cards, or select a novel from our extensive library.
On cooking
Mix up modern foodie or pioneer meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Barbecue your favorite summer fare on the outdoor gas grill or the wood-burning fireplace. Dine inside; outside on the patio or stage a grand meal at the riverside picnic area featuring a fireplace, lighted seating area, 15ft long picnic table, river views, dartboard, cornhole board, and plenty of marshmallow sticks!
On planning
Plan your days with area maps, local attraction brochures & travel guidebooks, event calendars, watercraft rental information, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations guide, and public lands information.
On being outdoors
Enjoy tree swings, a hammock, lounge chairs, and large yard for building forts, croquet, badminton, mini golf, cornhole, horseshoes, and wiffle ball games. Stage a family Disc Golf game on our newly constructed five-hole course. Rest in the wildflower meadows, pick wax currents, or walk the sun-kissed labyrinth that shares sacred ground with ancient Ponderosa Pines and the unforgettable Grandfather Tree. Open the front door to thousands of miles of mountain biking, trail running and hiking trails. Enjoy the elaborate Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA) system of mountain biking trails. A short bike ride to Sunriver bike paths, Sunriver village, Sunriver SHARC swimming pool, Sunriver Nature Center, Oregon Observatory, four premier golf courses, and trails to Benham Falls and Lava Lands Visitor Center. Easy access to Fall River, Cascade Lakes, Mt. Bachelor, Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Lava River Caves, High Desert Museum, and the city of Bend!
