About this property

Beautiful beach house located in desirable Surfside Beach, South Carolina, just eight miles south of Myrtle Beach. This house is within 100 feet of the white sands of the great Atlantic Ocean. Surfside Beach is known as the 'Family Beach' and offers many attractions for all ages. However, if action is what you want... then action packed Myrtle Beach is just minutes away.

Junebug's Retreat was completed in May of 2006 and replaced our old family beach house, 'The Fourth Estate', which sat on the same land dating back to '63. Over the years, this home has provided fun and fellowship for our family, and our desire is that it will provide fun and fellowship for your family as well!

The house boasts 5BR and 5.5BA. The first floor contains a master bedroom with en suite whirlpool bath, .5 bath in the hallway, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room with 40" Smart TV. All floors on the first floor are hardwood except for the bathrooms that have tile. Ceilings on the 1st and 2nd level are smooth 9ft ceilings. There are 2 porches off of the first floor, one large open porch on the front of the house, and a screened porch on the rear of the house that overlooks the gorgeous backyard w/pool. For your convenience, there is an elevator that goes to the 1st floor. The second level has 4BR and 4BA. Three of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, the fourth bedroom utilizes a hall bath. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and LED tvs. There is carpet in the bedrooms, tile in the bathrooms, and hardwood in the hallway and stairway. There is also a porch of the 2nd level accessed by 2 bedrooms on the front of the house.

There is parking for at least 3 vehicles underneath the house and 4 in the driveway. There is a gas grill provided in a grilling area on the side of the house as well as a table with 4 chairs under the house for your convenience. The backyard/pool area is beautiful. The entire area is stone except for 2 planting areas that each have a palm tree and assorted plants. Please see our photos of the yard to get an appreciation of its beauty!

Great stay

Had a great time with family and friends. Owners were super responsive. Upon arrival, a porch chair was broken and the owners had a whole new (and improved) set delivered pronto. The pool was a great retreat after a day at the beach and the location was fantastic, just a quick walk to the beach. Loved the screened porch to relax in the evenings. The house was very clean, too. One update, there’s a charcoal grill rather than a gas grill (which was listed in the description.) Would definitely return.

Great Stay!

We loved staying at Junebug's retreat! The house smelled great and was very clean. Providing linens, soaps, and paper products was a huge bonus and not common with other rentals in the area! The bedrooms were very sound-proof with solid doors, which was helpful for our younger kids who napped. The location was so close to the beach and in a cute neighborhood - felt more quaint than other areas of Surfside. Only two points as a heads up to others - being the first of a row of houses from the corner means you're butting up against many other neighbors on the main street and their pools. Our neighbors were respectful and quiet, but the back porch didn't feel as private as I had hoped. It also would've been nice to have some basic supplies like tupperware, ziplock bags or plastic wrap/foil. We cooked a lot and had very little options to store leftovers. We adjusted, but you might want to pack some. We'd definitely stay here again!

Wonderful accommodations!

The house was perfect for our family. The house was clean upon arrival and Meg was quick to answer any questions we had. We could hardly get the grandkids out of the private pool to have dinner! The house is in a great location with a very short walk to the beach and a short drive to Murrell’s Inlet to have a meal at some great restaurants. We had a lot of rain during our stay, however it didn’t keeps us from making some great family memories playing cards and board games that were provide by the owner.

Excellent . It was absolutely perfect . Wonderful location , clean , kitchen stocked with necessities. A day at the beach , followed by poolside and within walking ( or golf cart) distance to so many things . Our car stayed put. Highly recommend .

This isn't just a beach house, it's a beach home. Love has been put into decorating and making it feel more like your home. There are many books throughout the house as well as board games for the whole family to enjoy. There are 3 porches...2 on the front of the home and 1 screened porch overlooking the beautiful backyard and pool.

What makes this property unique

Only steps to the beach and the public access is directly in front of the house. The backyard and pool area is like a resort and very private, unlike many homes in the area.
