Location
You'll be staying in Wapping, just down the road from The Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It's a great location if you are visiting for pleasure or working in the city - old or new - as it’s very well connected by public transport or on foot.
The gorgeous St Katharine Docks marina is a 5 min walk away, which hosts lots of restaurants and bars, or you can catch the overground and be in trendy Shoreditch in minutes.
Getting around
The nearest station is Shadwell DLR & Overground – 8 mins from the flat. It takes only one stop to get the Bank Station at the heart of the City of London.
Tower Hill Underground Station is only 10 mins from the flat. From there you can go to Westminster, Trafalgar Square, Victoria, Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussaud Museum).
The best way to get to Piccadilly is to take Overground to Canada Water and to change there for Jubilee Line Underground which will take you to Westminster, Green Park (for Piccadilly and Buckingham Palace), Bond Street (Mayfair and shopping) and Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussaud Museum).
Bus 100 – stops just outside the flat – will take you to Barbican, St Paul’s, Tate Modern.
BICYCLES
If you can ride a bicycle it is a great way to travel in London. The flat is located on the East-West Cycle Superhighway (CS3) which runs through all Central London. You can hire a bike for £2 per day and there are 5 cycle docking stations within 5 mins walk from the flat.
RIVER BUS
Another great way to travel in London is by a River Bus. It is more expensive than the underground but much more enjoyable! A single ticket will cost £6.30 if you pay by Oyster (£8 if you buy ticket at the pier). You can buy a day ticket - £16 for adults, £8 for children, £32 for a family.
You can board the River Bus at the Tower Pier and go either to Tate Modern, Embankment, London Eye or in another direction to Canary Wharf and Greenwich.
