We visited for Mums birthday in March there were 4 of us plus one dog. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and not too far from the main buildings. I visited the pool two mornings and really enjoyed the facilities. It is a great base for exploring the West of Scotland with some beautiful scenery . We had a takeaway from the restaurant and it was delicious and well worth a try.

Farm cottages
We were a little doubtful as to the location - just being outside the inner village . But actually it was lovely , beautiful views of the loch and great walks from the front door.
Would recommend this cottage .

Feb stay
Kitchen not suitable for 10 people, in need of a face lift, missing downstairs loo!
Sofa made the room quite dark.
For us the road was busier than we would have liked.
Enjoyed our stay.

A lovely winter break
My family and I (4 adults + 4 children) stayed here for 4 days at the end of November. All the rooms in the house are a good size. The kitchen & lounge are lovely and bright with fantastic views. The "village" (Melfort village) is a short walk from the house. I have stayed in a few different houses within the village and it was a nice change to be slightly outside the village - much more private. Make sure to take a torch with you as it's pitch black in the dark, you won't be able to see a thing! Make sure to check the pool is open before you walk up as it was closed unexpectedly one day we were visiting - which was very disappointing for my excited children who had raced up there. The shower of herring was nice for having a few drinks in, I didn't rate the food much though.
I would visit again and would recommend.

Relaxing dog-friendly autumn break
We really enjoyed our stay at Melfort. The location is charming, our cottage was comfortable and very well equipped and the facilities on site (swimming pool, games rooms, restaurant etc) really added value. We liked the individual character of the buildings and situation, and the icing on the cake was the ability to have our dog fully involved in our family activities. Rare to have such a dog-friendly holiday in the U.K. The weather was mostly awful but we still enjoyed walks and exploring the surrounding area!

Family short break
Lovely cottage, well equipped with very comfy beds. Kids enjoyed using the pool and games room and tennis court. Impressed with the standard of facilities and the fact you dont need to pay extra to use them. Reception very helpful to any queries. Will definitely come back.

Melfort Village Farm Cottage 2
Enjoyed an excellent week in this lovely property in Melfort Village. Very well appointed property in a great location within walking distance of the amenities of Melfort Village but set within its own private garden with outdoor table and chairs giving a feeling of privacy.
Plenty of activities and places to visit in the local area to keep everyone amused and we made good use of the swimming pool too.

Christmas 2016
We had a relaxing family Christmas with 8 adults and 2 children. There was ample space for us all in the Cottage. The large porch is a useful storage space for wet shoes, jackets and provisions. The kitchen and house are well equipped. The fridge was far too small for 10 people but the management bought us an extra one on the day after we arrived. The internet speed was very good. There are activities organised by the management which we all took part in. Although we live locally, our visitors came from as far as New Zealand and can't wait to revisit!

Our first visit to Melfort Village but it won't be our last one!
Accomodation was excellent. First class. Very spacious, well equipped and nice and warm. Loved having an open fire. Wanted for nothing. Reception staff couldn't have bee more helpful. You can arrange a Tesco delivery too so that is an added bonus. Had a special meal at Melfort House. Excellent - needs to be booked in advance. £35 and bring your own bottle. A lovely experience. Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you to all at Melfort Village.
